Who remembers?
I have just had a notion to get one for my daughter who loves vintage.
I am looking online for a white one

I can remember as a child picking the bits out and creating a bald patch on my pink one.

I had a turquoise one on my bed as a teenager I haven’t thought about them in years but did love it at the time

Lol..I had a white one with a border of pink roses. Mum said it became threadbare at top as I picked all the bits out! 🤣

I loved my yellow candlewick bedspread.
Then one christmas morning mum told me to go to my bedroom as there was another present in there for me.

To my horror she had replaced it with an aweful nylon slippy thing. She also pointed to the addition of a bedroom chair.

It was a double whammy to me, I was fairly young and thought just why had she got me bedroom stuff and not toys!

Happy ending though, mum swapped back my beloved yellow a few days later.

That reminds me of when my mother replaced mine with a white nylon bedspread with a blue velvet ribbon trim. It was very nice, much more elegant than the pink candlewick. She spent several evenings sewing it before surprising me with it. It was only then that I realised what the strange noise was that bad been scaring me every night in bed that week. I had interpreted the long stretches of sewing machine motor as a monster growling downstairs.
