Good morning from a warm and calm part of La Sarthe.

Mick: Last Spring when I needed a boost after being unwell for some time and in hospital, I found Complan very helpful. It’s available from pharmacies in four flavours: vanilla, banana, strawberry and chocolate.

Yesterday was too hot to do much apart from drying washing super fast! I sat in the shade of a fruit tree reading whilst DH spent time on the terrasse with part of his model railway layout.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, especially those for whom today is the end of the school year. 🦩🥰🇫🇷💐🦩

Good morning from a grey Bristol. No rain forecast
yet…
I had a very busy morning yesterday baking for the fete tomorrow, making flapjacks, brownies, Bakewell tarts, GF cookies, etc. In addition, I had to make marmalade.
I did make sure I had a rest in the afternoon before going to DD’s for dinner.
The family is very excited as they had some photovoltaic cells put on their roof, courtesy of the diocese of Bristol. Now, DD is considering having some on her medieval church in town, subject to feasibility studies and planning permission.
The family was in good spirits, DGD had enjoyed both her DofE expedition over the weekend and work experience. She was with an ex-parishioner of her mum’s, a barrister, at Swindon crown court. It seems to have hardened her desire to go into law, probably criminal!
Iris came 7th in the National RDA and has qualified to be in some dressage things.
DS had a lovely time in France with various ex-colleagues and came back on Wednesday.
Today? More of the same, loads of baking, but with a flying visit from DS. I’m trying to do as much as I can to spread the load, so I don’t have too much to do tomorrow. I’ve already told the vicar I’m only working in my “domain” - the catering, and absolutely nothing else.
Hugs to all those who need one. Have a good weekend one and all.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from sunny south Glos, it’s 17° already and I’m about to take tiddler out, bigger dog has her dog walker this morning.
My rash is resolving at last, I’m on a second lot of antibiotics but it’s looking like I might end up with permanent scarring, I just wish I knew what triggered it 😢
I have hypoallergenic factor 50 sunscreen but can’t use it yet, have bought long sleeve tops and a big sun hat - I will probably look somewhat desperate! I’m not someone who sits in the sun anyway.
I cooked a delicious gammon in cider yesterday, so looking forward to that with some new potatoes that DH dug up- I don’t grow potatoes but a rogue plant appeared in a border where potatoes were last grown 4 years ago 🤷🏼‍♀️
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning all. A drizzly, wet, warm day is predicted for today in Glasgow.

A large skip arrived in the drive yesterday and I am told to use it if I wish. As it is beside the garage doors, I will be happy to have a bit of a clearance to make more room in the garage as sadly there are many bits and pieces I no longer have any use for. A podiatrist appointment in the afternoon, collect scripts will be my outing today. GD2 is off to Mexico for a week with her friend and her parents. I may see her today if she has time between ironing and choosing outfits to pack. 😂 Such a busy life at 16yr.

Best wishes to all for a good day with kind thoughts for those with worries and struggles.

Good morning from a grey, wet North Wales.
Travelling home today after a busy few weeks.
I couldn't do anything yesterday as I felt quite unwell, took anti nausea drugs and slept most of the afternoon.
Today is DIL's birthday.
Have a good day.

Grammaretto Fri 18-Jul-25 06:43:32

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Clear and dry so far. We had a fair bit of rain yesterday.

I got through some office work but always more to do.
The carpets in the flat were professionally cleaned and looks like new!
Work today at my volunteer job. I'll have coffee with my cousin. We were going to plan a fun weekend but the weather forecast isn't great.

How is your garden looking after the landscaping Kalu? Do you like the result?
Sorry to read about your rash Roses and glad it is improving.

I hope everyone has a happy day.

karmalady Fri 18-Jul-25 06:47:32

Good morning from s somerset, clouds and sun today

Roses I am so glad that the rash is starting to clear away.it took its time

My sweep is coming this afternoon and my fridge is ready for my small organic delivery this morning. I do find I am giving extra veg to the compost worms that live in my hotbins. I just cannot get through cabbages etc. They devour everything including paper shreds and rose trimmings

I did `do` two kitchen cupboards yesterday, just a quick empty, wipe and tidy and nothing thrown out or de-cluttered. I cannot reach the top halves without steps and have a storage shelf on the bottom, a great help for reaching things

The kitchen dresser needs a sort and wipe, my job for today.

Have a good day

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex coast.
I have some shopping to do this morning and some investigating this afternoon. I won't bore you with the details but it's to do with the small amount of cladding on our block.
DD1 and family set off for Thailand last night. She sent a lovely picture from Heathrow of five very smiley faces. I now have both daughters and my DH out of the country.
I'm going to a friend's for dinner this evening, she's cooking Paella which I love and she's a great cook.
TIB and my book for the next hour.
Have a lovely day everyone, best wishes to all xx

GrannyGravy13 Fri 18-Jul-25 06:54:30

Good morning from a brightening S E Essex coast.

I have to take one GC to work first thing, then I will go to the gym, then I have a manicure & pedicure booked. I will also pop in to see DH 😳

Their housekeeper is here all day today, so I will stay out till I pick up GS from work.

The vote seems to be for an Indian takeaway this evening, so that’s dinner sorted, boy can teenage boys eat!

(((Hugs))) to all our morning friends who are poorly and/or struggling, and of course my dear penpal.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset. Alexa tells me it’s 17 degrees, not cold.

Quiet day yesterday, the major excitement was a trip to the tip with a broken upright steamer. Volunteering this morning before a quiet afternoon.

Mick could you be referred to a dietician for advice on stabilising your weight? Pleased the rash is subsiding roses. Hope you can get some rest today grandmattie, tomorrow is bound to be more than busy.

Have the best day you can everyone.

RosieandherMaw Fri 18-Jul-25 07:03:37

Good morning from another sunny one in N Bucks.
I was out at 6 to water the borders and the pots and am now back in bed with TIB and reading the (online paper)
There’s usually something which catches my and provokes a grin or wry smile at least.
This is it ⬅️

RosieandherMaw Fri 18-Jul-25 07:05:02

Oops pressed too soon !
Wishing you all a pleasant day and relief to those in pain or distress.

Redcar Fri 18-Jul-25 07:11:16

Good morning from a sunny and warm mid Essex. It was cloudy and very humid all day yesterday, with a shower late afternoon, unexpected but welcome. DGDs 2 & 3 had a leavers party at school, courtesy of the parents association. They will move up to juniors next term.
Today I need to walk to the post office in the village. Then I’ll vacuum upstairs and do a bit of tidying generally.
roses I’m pleased that your rash is clearing at last, a relief for you.
grandmattie I am in awe that you can do so much baking in this hot weather! I hope the vicar appreciates all that you do for the Church! Well done to Iris for her riding.
Have the best day possible everyone, thoughts as ever to those who are struggling.

kittylester Fri 18-Jul-25 07:17:14

Morning, it's sticky in North Leicestershire with dramatic dark clouds.

I have to visit the egg farm, the butcher's and Waitrose this morning. Lunch at the marina with old friends and then a gentle afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone!

baubles Fri 18-Jul-25 07:24:28

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, it’s a warm and drizzly one.

Glad your rash is getting better Roses, here’s hoping the scarring fades.

I know what you mean GG13, there’s no filling my teenage granddaughter either.

I had fully intended having a quiet day at home yesterday but DH was restless so we decided to take a picnic lunch to Dumfries House where we enjoyed the gardens and walking in the grounds. I still haven’t been inside the house, one of these days I will.

I’ve a nail appointment this morning then no plans for the rest of the day although I’ll probably have to do a supermarket sweep.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Sallyforth Fri 18-Jul-25 07:29:53

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Cheshire, but there is blue sky not far away and the clouds are moving fast.

I feel exhausted just reading what some GNs get up to in a day! I'm preoccupied with a jammed cutlery tray in the dishwasher this morning. No idea how I've done that and no clue what to try next. Looks like I'll have to get a professional in.

There is to be a new baby in the family soon and that cheers me enormously. Something special and lovely to think about. I must get on with the baby blanket I've been asked to make.

I don't have grandchildren near, but love to hear other peoples' children and grandchildren playing in the gardens nearby. There will be lots of that now the holidays are here.

Wishing all a good day, with kind thoughts for all who are sad or poorly. flowers

Greyduster Fri 18-Jul-25 07:36:45

Good morning Michael and all GNs. This is our last full day in Ulster (I was actually asked by a ten year old boy yesterday if I would refrain from calling it Northern Ireland so I’m indulging him😊!). Yesterday the menfolk had a great day at the Open at Portrush and DD and I took the ferry to Rathlin Island to walk and watch birds at the RSPB centre. We had a couple of hours of heavy rain but the rest of the afternoon was clear. There are corncrakes breeding on Rathlin now and the local people are very excited about it. We heard (a first for me) but didn’t see them.
Today the younger folk are off to do coasteering and I shall just potter about with my camera. Whatever is left of the day will be spent packing.
Have the best day you can, folks.

luluaugust Fri 18-Jul-25 07:37:43

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. DD1 and family are off to stay with my DB for a couple of days on their way home to Scotland. It will take a few days to settle down I expect.
DGS3 had his Graduation yesterday and a job offer so a special day.
I would also recommend Complan Mick my mum and I found it useful over the years
Glad the rash is going off Roses I can’t use a sunscreen now, one of the ingredients doesn’t suit, perhaps try a dab before you spread it everywhere.
Best wishes

The other thing that makes me laugh is at the back of the credit/debit cards is a number to call if you lose it! 😂😂😂

Gingster Fri 18-Jul-25 07:50:58

Good morning all and it’s going to be another warm one. Yesterday was so humid and dull all day,

One of our twin gs’s is away with friends in Ayia Napa. (Oh dear)! The other twin bowed out. They are quite different personalities- one extrovert , the other introvert.👬

We’ll meet our Friday pals at lunchtime and enjoy our weekly catch-up .

Other than that not much happening.
I might get the carpet cleaner out but I really don’t have any energy this weather 😵‍💫.

Take care and keep hydrated!

ginny Fri 18-Jul-25 07:53:29

Good morning from N. Bucks . As Maw says it seems we are in for a warm day.
I have a hair appointment at 10.00am and then some baking to do for Sunday.
This after I intend to spend doing some art or craft.
Beast wishes to all for a good day.

brook2704 Fri 18-Jul-25 07:58:29

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey clouds and looks like it’s been raining
I’m off to DD2s this morning to look after the DGC so it’ll be good to see them all.
Pleased the rash is eventually improving roses
Well done to Iris gMattie and to your DGS lulu
Exciting times ahead sallyforth!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, a fine day is forecast.
Yesterday was cool and rainy for most of the day, but the sun appeared late afternoon.

Was quite p!eased with myself yesterday as I managed to print out a copy of my dear aunt's marriage certificate. My brother had sent for a copy, he photographed it and sent it to me via Wharsapp, but I had a lot of trouble printing it. Then I had the bright idea of sending it to myself in an email, and printing from that - which worked brilliantly. I can now make out all the details, and see the signatures of my grandparents and my father as witnesses. A piece of family history from 1922.

Dance classes this morning, then a walk to the shops for my weekly top-up shop. The forecast is for heavy thundery showers tomorrow, so will get it done today in fine weather.

Wishing all a pleasant day.
