So at my local hair salon I heard two/three ladies saying they were thinking of Air Con units.. know the Govt are advertising heat pumps but thought maybe an Air Con unit would be more needed if/now we are getting warmer spring/summers..
know in the US and Australia most homes have them installed already.. my 2 fans just move around warm air but wondered what the initial costs and running costs were- any experiences or info here ?

My house is also cool in summer - downstairs - but upstairs it can get hot - especially the top floor.

My little 2bed town house keeps warm in winter but now with this heat/rising temps, despite closed curtains and only opening windows for cooler air depending on where sun is streaming, is very toasty and has absolutely 100% knocked me off my feet- am so lethargic- am keeping hydrated but have zero energy to clean or make plans to go out… I wasn’t suffering this much last year..
Yes we’ve had plenty of rain overnight and it feels fresher, but the humidity is still high…

There is research that shows that air conditioning is bad for the environment - e.g it uses a lot of energy and the refrigerants involved aren't good. There is some concern that it will cause problems if its use becomes more widespread.

We've 3 aircon don't find them noisy beyond white noise.

My husband engineered the installation, cheap to run.

We have a fab air con unit now in our living room, but it's to keep DHs marine tank cool and stop his corals & fish from boiling. The rest of the house is hot as hell!

we have one in our garden office that heats and dehumidifies too. I've been spending a lot of time in there smile I think we need one for upstairs too. We are in a new build and it is so hot upstairs

I've had a Mitsubushi for 16 years. It also converts to warm air. Great on warm days and useful in winter. Large unit installed on tthe ground at side of house. I clean the filters on the inside unit myself once a year though rarely find much to clean.
