Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

I have a grandchild staying for a few days. DD is with the older sister at a netball tournament this weekend and her husband has taken the younger two to their holiday cottage for the week. No idea what we will do this afternoon but she’s coming to Mass with me this morning.

I’m so sorry to hear about Buzz Bellasnana.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a wet hillside in south Glos, it’s properly raining 🌧️, at long last!
We abandoned our plans to walk from the next village when shooting started, poor bigger dog freaked out, so we came back to our village and did one of our regular walks. She was behaving most oddly for the first 20 minutes but settled down.
Coming from a Romanian kill shelter there’s no knowing what she went through as a very young puppy 😢, hates loud noises like thunder, guns etc
Tiddler was oblivious, bless her! She had a bath when we got back having happily rolled in god knows what…..
Both spent several hours asleep, as did DH, while I did more knitting. I’ve done 20 squares, two rows, so far.
More today after usual dogs walk and chores. No idea what’s for dinner 🤷🏼‍♀️, I get fed up with cooking.
Thinking of those who are unwell or sad 🤗🌹

Good morning Michael and all GN's from a damp and humid, grey, still morning here in North Yorkshire.

It was good to read posts yesterday from gn's I recognised. I am just back from holidays, and am at the moment jet lagged, shattered, with complaints from my back and knees, and at the moment have no sense of timing and so forth. I will need another holiday to get over this!!

So right now, it is that get the washing done, go to the shops etc and catch up with post and much more. I felt such a zombie yesterday, standing trying to think what to eat and how to cook it, that I had the good idea to shut the fridge door, and go to my local italian restaurant, for some comfort food to set me up. They have lovely fresh fish there and so I had seafood risotto and a lot of water. That was a brilliant idea and at least had something sensible to eat.

The market was on so little parking, and I chose to go on my mobility scooter. The best idea as I could travel easily - watching out for the idiots who have their earphones in and never look who is around them - but it allowed me to get a few bits of fruit and veg, and on to Uno Momento. When you are weary and jetlagged I do not think you are on the ball. and should not be behind the wheel of a car until your reactions are back to normal.

So I managed to get two loads of washing done and dry before the weather changed. Have just finished last load with towels and bits and pieces, but wont be putting them out to dry yet!! I shall be happy now to make some coffee and go through the post properly. I was 80 on July 10th and was away so have come back to some lovely birthday cards , bills and the hospital letter for my operation!!

Dont know what the flipping people have been doing , but they have altered the way things are coming up, and I do not want to change, and am happy how I had the computer set up. I shall get my friend to come in and have a look because I do not want to give them permission to hold data etc etc. GRRRR!! Well hope everyone has a good day, I shall be back on to read posts a bit later. Time for coffee and then more putting stuff away, but the pace is slower than a tortoise this morning. Still I will be able to work accompanied by desert island discs and private passions, and by this evening I hope to feel back to what passes for normal here!!

Good morning from a wet part of La Sarthe where it’s been raining for several hours.

I hope Grandmabatty had a good journey and that you have recovered from your holiday tum.
A sad time with losing Buzz and now a funeral to face, Bellasnana. Perhaps reuniting with some branches of your family will help.
Good to see the return of madaleine45.
I hope your busy day was successful, grandMattie
Wishing everyone a blessed Sunday. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from a wet, fresh Cornwall. I've been absent, mostly hunkering down at home in the heat, but at least have got on with sewing. Did get out to spend some time with a professional seamstress who made me a bodice block from calico, as a base for Boro jackets.

Otherwise, my weekly Lego dissembling session at the library is great fun, plus we are fed and watered by the library staff. While avoiding the sun I started on a 1000 piece Lego Minifigure jigsaw, with an abundance of mind-boggling white pieces. 😊

Today I'm off to church and later to my daughter-in-law's in the next town for a roast.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent
Today is our 58th wedding anniversary and DH and I are off for a quiet lunch locally.
Yesterday was a strange day as we had three lots of power cuts, getting our Saturday night curry required some ingenuity. All seems well this morning
Welcome back Madeleine
Bellasnana so sorry to hear about buzz
Best wishes to all

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It sunny but has rained during the night.
I’ve only just woken up after, having slept for an unheard of number of hours. I was so tired that I was in bed at 830!
The fete went really well and the cafe made over £400.
We never stopped.i had three servers and a cashier; the zapper thingies didn’t work because they couldn’t receive Wi-Fi so it was cash only.
Of course, we had a few difficult customers, but everyone else enjoyed themselves. It was very hot in the kitchen/hall and I was supervising everything, refilling teapots, making coffee, checking on the amount of notes, etc. I didn’t stop, just managing a drink here and there. I hope my servers had some, but I really didn’t have time to check,
The church itself was the venue, with about 20 tables, most of which related to the elderly, but several other stalls. I didn’t have a chance to see, but I’m not interested in all that anyway.
When the raffle was drawn, I was astonished to get the first prize. I chose tickets for 4 at the Orpheus theatre for DD’s family.
At the end, I was just finishing tidying up when DS turned up with his colleague who was visiting. They brought me home and had a cup of tea before going back to DD’s for dinner.
Today? Feet up and doing absolutely nothing!
I haven’t read any posts yet, but would like to wish bellas the best in her sad journey, and hope everyone else hears a contented Sunday.
Carpe diem ❤️🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Kent where it is bright and very still. Rain is forecast later so this morning's main job is to sow some French beans direct into the ground.
In the afternoon I will continue with a knitted nativity project. Being a very slow knitter, I have to start 6 months in advance to make sure everything is finished!
Best wishes to all.

Good morning from s somerset and at last, it is damp, 15mm of rain since midnight. Not bad, that will have soaked in and helped my seeds to sprout

Roses, 2 of my Dds have 4 Romanian shelter rescues between them, they are the most loyal and loving dogs. The littlest one is tiny but guards her owner like a rottweiler. 3 acres to run in but she never leaves Dds side. It took a lot of time to bring love and confidence into these little lives, they never asked to be born into cruelty and it is so kind to rescue them

A good start today after a good sleep. I cut my right index fingertip yesterday, silly me I pushed a bit of runner bean through a tiny bean slicer, believe me it was sharp. The pain in that finger was horrible, lots of nerve endings. I ended up rummaging through my `rarely used` first aid kit and firstly found a plaster small enough but it stuck hard onto the cut and was horrible to take off a few hours later. Then I found a finger bandage, elastic with a nice soft pad on the end, perfect. I felt very lucky, finger dressings are not easy unless purpose made. I have ordered more of these

The other day I needed to use a special little burn dressing, kept in my fridge for years, never needed it, until I did. It pays to go through the first aid kit. I have stuff in for eyes, limbs, bigger cuts etc but nothing else left for fingertips

Later I uprooted a small weed, with my left hand, it was a flipping stinging nettle and my hand was `zingy` all day. Needless to say I did not do much and was glad to have prepped my soup earlier

I visited waitrose first thing to get some decent organic veg but was very disappointed. The non organic caulies said in big letters `wash very carefully`, much more emphatic than the usual `wash before use`. No wonder they looked pristine, no insect went near them. I brought my 4 poor organic offerings home and made two delicious meals to last two days

Today, just reading, tv, radio and yet more reading and glad to have had gentle rain and not a deluge

Have a good day

Good morning from Shropshire.Rain and storms forecast today.

We had a lovely day with the children.DH and DGD had a very intense game of chess which lasted over an hour.H was desperate to go into town for a treasure hunt and kept shouting checkmate in the hope of encouraging them to finish! After we dropped the children home we spent a pleasant couple of hours with DD’s in-laws then finished the day with a Chinese takeaway.

Nothing planned today.A small to do list to complete then an afternoon reading I hope.

I hope you are feeling better Grandmabatty.

Bellasnana, I too was sorry to hear about Buzz💐

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, grey, windy corner of Somerset.

Iron collected and Waitrose visited in the morning an hour in the afternoon was spent tackling the conservatory very grubby exterior white frames. I must be very odd as I enjoyed the process, not so sure Mr C did although we agreed how much better it looked. Today I’ll try out the new iron and generally potter. It doesn’t look a venturing out sort of a day.

A sad time for you bellasnana.

I’m not surprised you slept well grandmattie, quite a day.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cool, bright but damp out. Some useful rain yesterday but not the torrential downpours that were forecast. DD2 and her family came in the morning, the usual Saturday morning activities were cancelled due to the weather. Her OH sorted out the diverter on one of the water barrels, and that barrel is now full! Little things please little minds!
DD1 and family will come over between swimming and horse riding lessons, so I’ll provide some sort of lunch.

karma those bean slicers are very sharp!
grandmattie, I’m pleased the fete was successful and that the cafe made a lot of money.
Happy Anniversary luluaugust, have an enjoyable lunch.

Have the best day possible folks, thinking of those with sadness and difficulties in their lives.

Grandmabatty Sun 20-Jul-25 07:33:18

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 17° and damp and misty. Bellasnana 💐.
Yesterday was such a long day but we finally arrived home at half six. It took ninety minutes to get the cases from the baggage hall! Edinburgh airport is in a horrible condition and not a pleasant experience. I did one wash last night but retreated to bed after eating a couple of dry crackers.
This morning, I'll have a couple more crackers just to make sure things are ok. I'll get the rest of the washing done and I have a Tesco delivery due. The day will be spent ironing and resting. And putting stuff away. I'm very glad to be home.

Bellasnana Sun 20-Jul-25 07:41:02

Good morning from Ramsgate where it is sunny and pleasantly warm.

I had an uneventful journey yesterday and it is lovely to be with family even though it’s a sad time for us all.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments regarding Buzz. I still feel churned up inside and a lot of that is due to the awful vets who basically kept Buzz going for treatment which they knew had no hope of curing him. I feel so guilty for not listening to my gut feeling sooner.

Anyway, no more pets for me, sadly. I shall just have to enjoy other people’s furry friends.

We are going out for lunch today, an ordeal for me as I don’t usually eat much, but it will be good to see more family members who are joining us.

Good to see madeleine back with us again and lots of new names posting.

I think of you all and can’t thank you enough for your support. It means a lot.

Do hope FGT is bearing up and that himself is feeling better with the new stent. My heart goes out to them both.💐

I’ve just had a coffee brought to me, what luxury! I must get up and try to decide what to wear. I always seem to bring the wrong clothes.🤦🏼‍♀️

Wishing a good Sunday to you all. It’s good to be back on British soil for a while! 🇬🇧

Good morning from a brightening Stockport.
Yesterday was our village carnival, it rained the whole day until the evening.
I had intended to go on my mobility scooter but that idea was a nonstarter.
I felt so sorry for the organisers, a year in planning and the only really bad day for weeks.

It really cleared by 7pm so I took my glass of red wine outside and was later joined by my GD and her boy friend and we sat out until after 10.
I have to confess that more wine was drunk.
Today I am being taken out for lunch by a friend to celebrate my birthday which was last week but today was the first time convenient for us and living alone she particularly fancied a roast dinner so that is what we are having.
So sorry about Buzz, he will be much missed Bellasnana also hope the visit to England, although sad , goes well for you.
Have the best day you can everyone

Good morning everyone from a wet and soggy Inverness
A very Happy Anniversary luluaugust enjoy your lunch out together later 💐❤️🥂
Sounds like a very successful day gMattie well done and keep those feet up today!
Thank you all for your kind messages yesterday about the bump in the car, these things happen but it’s still unsettling. It’s a new car too, we’ve only had it since April! Anyhow, this morning we’ll go out and enjoy a coffee somewhere, get a bit of shopping and hope it stops raining so we can get outside later pottering in the garden
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

EkwaNimitee Sun 20-Jul-25 07:45:57

Good morning Mick and everyone from brightish but dry Carlisle.
Yesterday, having heard the forecast, I went out extra early through the park for my paper. Just as well as no sooner had I got back and settled down with a coffee, it started raining. Just a shower but that was it for the rest of the day, continual showers, some quite heavy. Obviously, gardening was out so I dealt with a lot of boring admin and read the paper and my book.

Today, I'm hoping rain stays away as I have some potatoes to plant. I'd gone to the garden centre on Friday and spotted bags of chitted potatoes claiming to be ready for C*******s. A small bag would fill the spot vacated by my peas so I thought I'd give potatoes one last chance...I've had little success with them here so far.
First though are some important admin tasks so I'll leave you to all your doings.

Poor Buzz and poor you Bella. I hope your trip goes as well as it can in the circumstances.

For people who only post and read on Good Morning, I am not new, for many years I was annsixty but got locked out recently and could only get back in by changing my username.

Good morning. N.Bucks is damp and overcast this morning. We have had a fair bit of rain over the last couple of days.
Today I am off to meet up with my scrapbooking friends, always a fun time. Just got to make some scones to take before I go.
flowers for* Bellsnanna* at this sad time.
Thoughts for those with troubles and illness and a good day wished for everyone.

Good morning all and no weather to report here in Essex. Rain forecast for later.

Yesterday’s DIL’s 50th birthday bar b q was delightful. The rain held off and the sun came out. Lots of family and friends chatted and laughed the afternoon away.
DS1 did a delicious bar b q, baked two birthday cakes (voted 10 out of 10) and generally worked his socks off, as usual.

Poor chap ended up at A and E in the evening with an ear infection. Swimmers ear on holiday impacted by the flight home. He’d already been to the GP but it was getting worse.
He was seen quickly at the hospital and given more antibiotics and a spray. 🙏.

Eldest DGD is taking youngest DGD to London to the Paddington experience and then on to the Sea Life Aquarium. Theyll have a lovely time together.♥️.

I hope all goes well tomorrow Bellasnanna 🙏

The sun has just come out and it’s very still and peaceful. I do hope the forecasted rain arrives though., 🤞

Take care and enjoy the day .,🌼

Good morning everyone from a brightening Cheshire where it's 17C. Any clouds are moving swiftly from the south.

I had a very disturbed night after a very painful wasp sting last evening. I came in from the garden and a wasp flew down the front of my dress. The pain was extreme. Fortunately I had a spray, and some vinegar dressings calmed it down after a while.

Hope your journey went without delays Bellasnana. A sad time for you. flowers
90 minutes to retrieve your luggage Grandmabatty shock
Take is easy today.

My day will unfold as the mood takes me. Nothing urgent to worry about. 56 years ago today, the day man walked on the moon, my DD was born. Happy days.

Enjoy your day whatever you have planned. Kind thoughts to all who may have troubles and sadness. flowers

Very happy anniversary wishes to you both luluaugust. 🥂

Good Motning from a gloomy, still, Durham, although it’s quite warm. There was hours of torrential rain yesterday, so we were soaked several times. Driving home was ‘interesting’ with a few idiots using their fog lights and dazzling other drivers in the deluge.
I have no plans for today, other than starting to sort out clothes for my holiday - DD2 says we should just share a case!

Best wishes to all, X

harrigran Sun 20-Jul-25 07:59:33

Good morning from a grey and damp NE.
Yesterday it rained most of the day but escaped the thunderstorm.
It is going to be another quiet day with my book.
I think dinner may be a store cupboard vegetable curry washed down with an alcohol free beer.
Sorry to hear about Buzz Bellasnana. Safe journey to the UK.
Thoughts are with poorly people.
