Morning all from a humid but damp West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday’s Diabetes Prevention group was interesting. I learned a lot and will endeavour to eat more healthily and less!

Bits of admin this morning and then I will visit friends. The husband of one of our number who had a massive stroke a month or so ago, is still with us! He has been moved to another hospital where he will learn to walk and talk again.

Happy birthday 🎂 to many of you! Commiserations to those of you who are suffering.

Good morning from a very damp Stockport.
Yesterday was fine until teatime when the heavens opened and it poured down, no watering needle for a few days.
Happy Birthday to the girls celebrating today, I hope you both enjoy your day.
I managed a couple of hours in our local park yesterday , a cup of tea from the cafe
, watching the children on the play park and because I am on my mobility scooter people do stop and talk which is always a pleasure.
Hairdresser today at lunchtime and then Sainsbury’s delivery between 2&3.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning everybody. 😊
GrandMattie not only do you give up your time, you are out of pocket. Sugar, electricity etc. Church body is wealthy. I think they should give you a stipend to cover your costs. By selling what you make they’d still make a profit. x

Good morning all. Not raining at the moment in Glasgow but give it time. I do see some blue sky though.

No show from the workers today. It’s not as if there is nothing to do here so where the H are they? I’m not impressed with a company who work in fits and starts, no doubt moving workers on to another job. Just finish what you started here!!😡

Greyduster, I am in the same boat, a new FA, it’s exhausting keeping up with him.
Happy birthday and many happy returns of the day to all celebrating today. 🎂

Surprise….the sun has appeared. All I need is for the workers to appear too.

Have the best day possible all.

Church body is wealthy

There may be wealth in higher parts of the church as an organisation but it is not generally accessible to individual parishes so folks like grandMattie who make regular voluntary contributions are much appreciated.

good morning all, it's a wet dreich day here in ayrshire, but still a bit clammy, definitly not sitting in the garden weather, it can only improve..

Some of us are happy to contribute to our church and not expect payment nor a stipend. That would not sit right with me, nor many of our parishioners, who willing give their time and are happy to donate goods.

We have to find £600,000 for our restoration fund, we are certainly not wealthy, neither is our Diocese, which has three other parishes in the same dire situation.

Glad we changed our mind about Largs! 😁

The sun has just come out here...briefly!

It’s the 12th birthday of Prince George today as well! 👑

I remember that day so very well, we were in London for a few days for my birthday, jumped into a black cab to go back to our hotel and he told us that George had arrived.

Another reason for a glass of bubbles (not that I need one 😹)

Welcome JamesandJon 👋

Late morning here in Kent is beautifully sunny and warm with a slight breeze.
Today's plan is to plant the tray of winter greens I bought from the Nursery yesterday.
Thank you karmalady for posting the technique for storing beetroot. I hadn't thought of doing that before. I always pickle the beetroot with vinegar and sugar. Although that is tasty, I do miss the earthy taste which disappears when it has been pickled.

Good morning from cloudy East Lothian which must have dodged most of the rain as there were no big puddles when we arrived back from Aberdeen yesterday evening.

Aberdeen and the Tall Ships was fantastic. We are just sorry that we hadn’t booked another night to watch them leave today. Sea Cadet DGSs were answering questions from visitors when we arrived on Saturday morning and looked and sounded very competent. C appeared on a BBC news item in a non-speaking role! We saw a great photo of them with four other cadets up on the rigging.

Happy Birthday to GG and Gingster.

Lovely to read of your adventures Madeleine.

Glad you’ve finally got an appointment Marydoll but what a long wait.
Hope you get your results soon Rosiesmaw.
Grandmabatty, I hope you get back to normal eating soon - stomach upsets are so miserable.

You are so good at hosting your visitors Grammaretto - your excursions with your cousin sound delightful!

Back to routine - washing to be done etc. DD and SiL are in Aberdeen until Friday and will bring GDSs (and all their kit 😂) back with them.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

We went to an auction viewing this morning…it wasn’t planned. We put a bid on a work by one of our art school tutors. Such a surprise to see it. Auction is tomorrow so we shall watch on line….never done that before.

Grammaretto Tue 22-Jul-25 19:01:27

Thanks Litterpicker. I would have loved to be with you in Aberdeen! Happy memories for all of you.

JamesandJon33 Tue 22-Jul-25 19:10:30

Diolch ( thank you) everyone. I am awake early so will say ‘Bore Da’ tomorrow.
