Thank you baggs. Appreciate seeing you both. Hope soop can be settled very soon and a workable care package put in place.

Soop’s cosy kitchen for kindly and caring folk
(1001 Posts)In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.
Lovely photos Baggs.
I was ‘out-out’ last night so just quickly skim read the latest kitchen news when I got home.
Consequently I have popped into the kitchen today to say Thankyou to Baggs for the lovely photos- good to see Soops lovely smile despite her recent buggerations.
I often read, don’t often post- so sending love to all- hope the rest of today goes as well as it can. x
Lovely of you to keep the kitchen cosy, Jaxjacky. Sounds like a good quiz night and I hope the physio exercises help with that crepitus. 🌹 Thinking of soop and all who need a bit of extra care just now.
Good afternoon Kitcheners. So nice to see photos of both Baggs and Soop. Bless them both.
Today I did an hour and a half of Spanish. I was in the living room while the painter got on. Then I went to the school library for a couple of hours. The boys had their school photos taken and I got a sneaky peek. I won't tell dd! They were lovely. An individual one each and one with the two of them. I worked with two classes in the library then came home. The painter has finished the first coat in the kitchen and my bedroom and is busy doing the rest of the gloss. I ordered new lamps for the living room and a lampshade for my bedroom which will arrive on Saturday. I'll spend the weekend putting things back where they should go. Beef olives for dinner. Have a good afternoon all
grandmabatty you put me to shame! Back in the early summer I ventured into a well known diy store and bought several match pots of paint in various colours. My intention was/is to have my bedroom and the hall, stairs and landing decorated. The match pots are still in the garage, unopened, and I haven’t rung the painter yet! Must get on with it, hopefully the painter will be back from his summer holidays by now.
I did do some gardening today, raking up dead leaves and plants, and cutting back shrubs that should have been pruned months ago. I picked more cherry tomatoes today, but one of the plants is almost bare now.
Have a pleasant evening everyone, not enjoying that it gets dark earlier now.😞
Redcar, it's taken me ages to get this organised! The impetus was, I tore one of the kitchen blinds and the blind in the living room has deteriorated. So I needed new blinds. Because of that, I decided the house needed painted. And then I ordered a new rug and suite. The place will look good once it's all done, I'm sure.
H kitchen pals, it’s been a lovely warm sunny afternoon here in Inverness, layers off again and back into T-shirts.
I enjoyed the classes at the gym and a good catch up with a couple of ladies. The husband of one of the ladies is sadly deteriorating quickly with dementia and she’s been looking into care homes for him. Eye wateringly expensive- really really expensive! They’re going to have to use all their savings to pay for his care, it seems very harsh.
Well done grandmabatty you’re very well organised and I’m sure all will look amazing when finished, I’m much more like you Redcar with the paint pots still in the garage
Hoping Soop is doing ok today and thinking of all in the quiet corner x
Good evening dear Kitcheners, thanks for the lovely pictures Baggs, good to see you both. I have been to the Eye Centre and am now inspected and injected. The lovely consultant ophthalmologist was horrified to hear of my recent tussles to get my blood pressure meds reinstated. As she said, Why on earth would they do that, given your medical history? Anyway, all sorted now. She recommended that I continue with 6 monthly Botox injections as they are helping. Neither of us are keen to go for cataract surgery while I am managing fine. I don’t drive anymore so that’s not a worry. I have spent the afternoon lying down with my eyes closed, there’s only a small bruise on the injection site so will soon recover. TOYA xx
Good news Blossoming a positive day.
The jumper is off! I think MrJ is improving, it’s been a nasty virus.
Phone call with financial advisor today, I'm still dithering.
Some garden clearing done, the tomato production is slowing down, definitely a vague chill today.
Take care all.
grandmabatty I have of course done things in the wrong order- I had a replacement double glazed window, then new blinds in my bedroom & living rooms, now I’m going to get the decorating done! I should have started with the paint!
Good that the Botox injections are helping your eye problem blossoming. I hope you’re back to normal tomorrow.
brook how sad for your friend, care homes are horrendously expensive unfortunately.
I’m watching athletics from Lausanne in Switzerland and it’s pouring with rain! I’m envious!!
Lovely photos of you both Baggs thank you.
DGS4 is now out of hospital and staying with mum and dad to recuperate, had a FaceTime with him this evening
Brilliant luluaugust relief all round.
My friend, still in hospital, has had biliary sepsis now improving, massive doses of antibiotics.
DH is out, I am slouched on the sofa, surrounded by paint charts and wallpaper books.
Finally we have a start date for our builders, this Tuesday 😱
I have been ranting regarding their tardiness and inability to confirm a date (ongoing saga of seven years) now I am doubting my choice of colours…
Sending (((hugs))) to all in need, I promise to try and keep up with kitchen news…
That’s very good news Blossoming take it easy and rest your eyes 😴
Good to hear Mr J is eventually improving Jax, hopefully back to normal soon, but your friend sounds like she’s had a really tough time, I hope things improve soon
Your poor DGS Lulu, hope he’s well on the road to recovery now
Definitely a very long saga GG13,I remember you telling us bits about it over the years, Hopefully the end is in sight, fingers crossed 🤞
I’m going out on Friday evening to a Country and Western themed event, I was talked into it today by the line dancing crew …. I’ve been frantically searching Amazon for a quick delivery cowboy hat 🤠
Hi everyone
Just popped in for a catch up and saw the lovely photos of Soop and Baggs. Thank you Baggs!
I have my fingers crossed that you get home soon Soop 👋
Hello kitchen people.
I’ve had a good day. It was the WI summer outing. We went on a train and had a cream tea. One of our ladies is 99 tomorrow so we gave her flowers, a card and a cake.
OH visited his bees and is pleased with how they’re doing. He hopes to obtain 100 jars worth of honey from their hives next week.
Sleep 💤 tight everyone, especially those of you with worries.
Have had a break from i-pad good to see Soop hope she gets home soon. Granmarie what a shock for your family,
Glad oh improving Jaxjacky .Thinking of all going through horrid times .
Hello 👋 lovely Kitchen people.
Thinking of the Soops and FGTs, hope all is going as well as possible for them. Kind thoughts to all with illness, worries or sorrow.
Thank you so much for your kind condolences, they are very much appreciated. I took my sister in law ( DH's sister) to visit our niece yesterday. She is quite stunned by her DH's sudden death at the age of fifty, despite the hospital's attempts at resuscitation. God bless her, she is widowed at forty five with two young adult sons who really miss their Dad. However, the families have rallied round and the funeral is arranged. So sad.
In a serendipitous quirk of fate, great joy appeared in the midst of sorrow, my DSIS2 became a Gran again with the somewhat early arrival of her new wee grandson 💙 who was expected at the end of the month. Mother and baby doing well, father, big sister and grandparents, very proud! I'm looking forward to meeting him soon.
I've managed two Aquafit classes this week, sometimes I surprise myself! 🤣
Wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA.
Good afternoon!
I have had a busy couple of days but it all finished at lunchtime so I have spent this afternoon in my armchair with my laptop. We are now booked for a week in Kos in the middle of October. That will be a real holiday as opposed to a week away with two toddlers in September! 🤣
I have a blanket over me - it’s very cool this afternoon. We shall be making a stir fry with pork in a while, once I am warm! Lo ve to the soops, FGTs and everyone else with worries
Hoping I have the energy to garden tomorrow.
Pretty rubbish day here, brightened by MrJ now back to normal 🙂.
Friend of my sons died last Friday, now confirmed suicide; pregnant friend of both children being kept in hospital at 8 months as a bleed; friend that had sepsis due home today as her bully other half wants her out, she’s compliant.
In between all of that I’ve just faffed about really, but my mystery freezer defrosting overnight was lamb, now casseroled with red wine, garlic and herbs.
Not often I have a down day, sorry, but today is one and please send lots of love and prayers if you believe to FGT and himself.
Hi kitchen pals, after a cloudy morning the sun came out and we had a lovely sunny afternoon. There’s no dance class this evening so I’m having a more restful day today, and really enjoying it.
A big Congratulations on the birth of your sisters new baby grandson Grannmarie, some lovely news in the midst of such sadness in the family. And a very well done with your aquafit classs twice this week 👍
Kos sounds good Nannytopsy, a treat to look forward to
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x
So sorry Jax crossed posts, lots of sadness and worries, heartbreaking news about your son’s friend
Always keeping FGT and himself in my thoughts and sending love and support
I think a group kitchen hug is much needed ❤️
Jaxjacky that was a rotten day for you indeed. Grannmarie it's good to hear from you.
Because of the lack of pin number, I've had an enforced lazy day. The painter finished at teatime. Hooray! He's happy to wait for his money. I'll leave everything to dry thoroughly and will wash floors tomorrow. I'm picking up my specs in the morning then heading to the school to work with dgs1's class. Lunch there, then I'll work with the primary one class in the afternoon then home to begin sorting everything out.
I raided the fridge for dinner and had bacon, hash browns, fried potatoes, a fried egg and beans. Thoroughly unhealthy but very nice. I'll have an early night tonight. Toya
jaxjacky a tough time for you, a relief that your DH has taken his jumper off and is feeling better.
luluaugust good that your DGS is now home with his mum and dad.
GG13 I hope that your building work goes well after all this time, and that you are happy with your choice of paint and wallpaper.
Thinking of soop and the fgts and hoping for the best outcomes possible for them all.
Night night.
