In *soop’s absence I’ve opened the door, fluffed the cushions and replenished the buffer.
Blossoming you have more patience than me with that bracelet, how delicate.
Tough times SueD I hope today went well for Thursday.
Yesterday’s quiz was a record 54 in attendance, not bad for a village on a Monday, we caught up with quiz mates, but failed to get in the top three. Before that I went to see a physiotherapist and came away with a bunch of knee exercises, I’ve crepitus apparently!
Today was washing, managed to whip it in before some rain unexpectedly came down.
With 🌹to soop and others struggling.

I’m not a visitor to the kitchen but look in occasionally and can see this lady is held in very high esteem by all the posters. I wish her well, to be free of pain, and hopefully back with her husband as soon as possible. Cancer is a terrible thing.

Soop always has a kind word for everyone and helped me through a bad time when my dog died. I do hope she is not suffering too much.

Georgesgran Thu 31-Jul-25 20:58:20

I’ve just read the sad news about Soop.
Hope she is comfortable and in no pain.
I’m sure Baggs will keep us updated. X

I haven’t posted here before but regularly peep through the kitchen door. I am so, so sorry to read the news about Soop, she is a lovely, inspirational lady and I have been concerned about her recent absence hoping she wasn’t too poorly.
Wishing her well enough to go home soon to MrSoop

Grandmafrench Thu 31-Jul-25 22:03:09

No longer a poster, but a reader although I'm late catching up with the news of more trials, tribulations and buggerations affecting dear Soop and her darling man. You poor dear, I'm so sorry because you have had much more than your share of ill health over recent years.

Wishing hard for you, sending healing thoughts, and hoping that actually being in hospital will mean that you receive enough good and proper medical care to build your strength and maybe set you free again - free to return to all that you love. There, we can hope that the tranquil seascapes and sunsets can help set the scene for a happy and peaceful birthday in the surroundings that you love.

The Kitchen Gang will be looking forward to sending you the best Birthday wishes on the 8th, Soop. Take strength from those, know that you're loved and, please, feel better.

I am so sorry to hear the news about Soop, how utterly devastating for the Soops and their family.
I treasure a lovely painting she did of bigger dog , who shares her real name, such an incredibly generous lady who has been through so much.
Sending love and hugs xx

Have just read about Soop’s illness on another thread and to say I’m heartbroken would be an understatement.

Soop is one of the best friends I have never met, but she has been so very kind to me over many years and I have several of her beautiful paintings of my much loved dogs and cat.

Along with all of you I send my love and best wishes to both the Soops at what must be a very difficult time.šŸ’ā¤ļø

How lovely to see so many people sending good wishes to soop. She and Mr Soop are in my thoughts this morning.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 01-Aug-25 07:30:31

I too have a beautiful painting which she did of one of my cats.

Nannytopsy Fri 01-Aug-25 08:57:27

I am thinking about soop and hoping that she had a comfortable night. Love to Mrsoop too - it’s hard for him to be at a distance.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 01-Aug-25 09:15:25

I hope that our dear soop has had a comfortable night, free from pain šŸŒøšŸ™šŸ»

Lins1066 Fri 01-Aug-25 14:45:31

I am very sorry to hear that soop is in hospital and so ill. I'm sending her my best wishes and healing thoughts. I hope though that she is more comfortable and will soon be back home with MacSporran as I remember him.
I haven't posted for some years but am doing so now as soon helped me a great deal during a sad family time. She painted a beautiful picture of our much loved King Charles spaniel and our cooker spaniel as a pup. You're in my prayers soop

Charleygirl5 Fri 01-Aug-25 14:52:49

McSporran will be devastated, and it is such a long way away to visit—one buggeration after the other.

GrandmasueUK Fri 01-Aug-25 15:10:13

I am a very irregular visitor to the kitchen, but love catching up with everyone’s busyness. I am so sorry to read about Soop’s devastating health issues. She (and quite a few others in the kitchen and the morning thread) are always in my thoughts and prayers. I have never met anyone from here in RL but I feel as though I know some of you so well. šŸ’ā¤ļøšŸ¤— to all in need of a virtual hug.

Jaxjacky Fri 01-Aug-25 19:43:33

Difficult for Baggs when we are all so invested in the soops and their situation, a difficult task being the messenger, but much appreciated.

Usual Friday in most respects, stretch class this morning, missed it last week, some light (token gestures) housework, Tesco delivery then pub. It was very busy in the local, but the staff were on the ball, it’s windier and cooler this evening.
I hope you’ve all had a decent day, I know some of you have illness striking your families and other struggles, thoughts with you as well as soop tonight 🌹

Redcar Fri 01-Aug-25 20:04:44

My second day of dog minding for DD1. Although I look after her frequently, she’s a bit more jumpy at the moment. Her favourite dog walker took her out at lunchtime, so she was a bit happier. DD2 visited this afternoon, good to catch up after her holiday.
We had a couple of hours of useful rain this afternoon, the water barrels are overflowing. I hope mine are too, 5 miles away! I’ll go and check on Sunday and bring some more food back here, I’ve a freezer full at home.

I hope soop is comfortable and that her DH has been able to visit her.

I also hope that Mr fgt was able to start chemo again.
blossoming good that you have been able to see your doctor and that you have some medication that hopefully will help you!
Enjoy the rest of the evening kitcheners.

Grannmarie Fri 01-Aug-25 21:22:34

Good evening everyone, such a sad kitchen as we worry about our dear Soop, but so uplifting too as we see the outpouring of kind wishes for her and her beloved MrSoop from so many GN people. A true reflection of how special this lovely lady is, and how many hearts she has touched. ā¤ļø Hoping and praying that MrSoop found Soop rested and pain free, I'm sure his presence brought her great comfort. Thinking of them both. šŸ’•

I had a great day looking after The Wee Boy, we played cars all morning and turned folding the laundry into a game involving the Hokey Cokey, ' shake it all about!'. We walked to the park after lunch, reading the names/ makes of all the parked cars on the way... he's a wee boy who loves motors!

I'm dog minding too, Redcar! Grandpup will arrive early tomorrow morning as her family are off to a music festival this weekend. That will make me walk! 🚶 šŸ•

Soop painted a beautiful portrait of our much loved and missed Granddog, it's treasured by our family.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Friday evening and a good night's sleep.
Thinking of you all, especially those with illness, worries or sorrow. NNGB.
