What’s your favourite aisle in the supermarket?

Just a bit of Friday trivia grin

Mine has to be the soap powders / fabric conditioners. Could literally spend half an hour looking at all the different brands .

None, I buy fresh from town centre butchers/fishmongers/fruit & veg. Because sadly those shops are ceasing to exist in many neighbourhoods.

But where do you buy laundry products and cleaning materials? Even my fishmonger who comes weekly and the independent butcher where I buy all our meat from don’t sell soap powder or loo rolls……….not yet anyway! 😂

I could happily spend hours in a large supermarket but it is not good for my bank balance. I don't think I have a favourite aisle. Perhaps the yogurt area in a large supermarket.

Where the reduced items and bargains are.

Cleaning ailse. I love buying bleach. Also looking at the pretty toiletries in the larger supermarkets.

Pity the environment then. All that bleach. Please think about reconsidering your cleaning methods. smile

I don't have a favourite isle. Mostly I take a list and whizz round as quickly as possible.
Find what I went in for.....then leave.

My favourite is the aisle where you can buy a cup of coffee and watch the world go by. I love supermarkets, but unfortunately, I cannot buy as I please because some prices have shocked me, and I have almost been caught out. A sirloin steak costing well over £20 is a prime example.

Cheese and fruit and veg.

Ditto Whitewavemark.

In hot weather I like the chilled aisle, but most of the time it’s the world foods aisle.

Rainbow1235 Thu 24-Jul-25 12:43:16

Wine aisle for me too 😂

Beechnut Thu 24-Jul-25 13:46:07

The booze, fresh fish and stationery aisle.

What is it about notebooks, Sarnia and Grannybags*?

I can't resist a lovely pristine new notebook. I have two large boxes full of them at home - can't resist them - but the majority are unused. I consider them too beautiful to spoil with my writings.

I don't think my children are going to appreciate my collection when I pop my clogs, somehow.

The wine aisle when there is 25% off of six bottles or more 🥂😱🍾

Today!!!!

And, I think it's Thursday.

Sarnia

Stationery. I can never have too many pens and notebooks. I like seeing new stationery ideas on the shelves.

Oh me too! I have always loved stationery, pens and pencils. Pristine new notebooks are my absolute favourite. I always used to ask for pens and notebooks as gifts when I was a child, and never grew out of it.

I was struck a few weeks ago by the fresh fruit and veg section in Carrefour in southern Brittany. Everything was loose and not a scrap of plastic in sight. Strong paper bags freely available.
Back home today in Waitrose and I am confronted by seas of plastic. Many items are only available in packs.

None of them. I just want to get it over with! 😂

Me too.
Which is way I shop online for food & most other things.
I can’t stand shopping of any sort

You startled me into checking which day it is kandinsky !
I’d say the chocolate aisle, especially on trips when I manage to look and not buy. Failing that the fastest aisle leading to the exit. I do not enjoy shopping.

I do a lot of onine shopping, but I couldn't do it for food. I don't trust anyone else to pick my shopping for me, especially when it comes to fresh items. I've been known to rake through every pack of something until I find one I like the look of.

Yep, stocked up in Sainsbury’s this morning. I only go there when the offer is on or I am down to my last drop of washing liquid 😹

Otherwise it’s farm shop, local butcher’s and small independent shops.

Me too, I struggle to resist a lovely notebook. Have far too many unused ones. One of my friends was really amused when she saw my stash a few months ago.

Well said. Have a try at white vinegar and bicarb of soda and prepared to be amazed!

The cheese isle. Particularly M&S at Stratford London.

You are not alone. See previous pages.

Those aisles where you're never quite sure what's going to be there. Like when Waitrose use the same aisle for reduced Easter eggs and random reduced garden stuff. I get moderately excited after Christmas when the supermarkets lump all their end of season stuff in one aisle. I end up buying things I never knew I needed, like socks in a tumbler.
