Having seen the interview our PM looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights…

More like Starmer showing the world " There's more than one way to skin a rabbit".

Thanks to Trump's escapades in the Oval office broadcast to the world, Starmer knew exactly what to expect . He said as little as possible and gave Trump his head.

Trump puffed up his chest, opened his big mouth, delivered his notions on how to run a country, and made a complete arse of himself. In front of the world.

Mission accomplished.

Scotland salutes you, Starmer.

Jennifer and Teazel, perhaps you can judge a man by his friends.
Mr Trump, a convicted felon, was very friendly with a paedophile sex trafficker.

Well said butterandjam. If anyone can be bothered to watch the attached video link then you will see the president in full flow.

Those pictures aren't real. The one they are touting is an emaciated little boy who has been in Italy for several months receiving treatment for muscular dystrophy. Another pic was of a child which was a Lybian child taken 6 years ago. Don't believe the propaganda.

Jeannied Tue 29-Jul-25 14:56:39

A convicted felon? More like subject to Lawfare. Billionaires are obviously going to .ove in the same circles. He was never a friend of Epstein, he never went to the island. I checked hundreds of flight logs and Trump was never on them. It was Trump who tipped off the police enabling them to arrest Epstein. Don't take my word for it, check it out.

And I’m a monkey’s uncle.

Starmer looked a fool, but worse than that, a toady.

Allsorts Tue 29-Jul-25 15:06:33

Not a fan of Starmer, but his choice of words were to convey the injustice and horror of the situation, no one can look at them without stomachs turning. How can this be happening.
Jeannied and others, so you think all the aid agencies, Red Cross and reporters are lying. . Is your stomach full, have you somewhere to sleep tonight? I don’t suppose it matters to some, but most people with a heart are sickened at it.

DT is most definitely correct calling khan horse has definitely ruined London anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional.🤦‍♀️

Ainee Tue 29-Jul-25 15:42:25

Horrible not horse or maybe ass.

Earthmother9 Tue 29-Jul-25 15:45:19

Starmer has stood by and said nothing, the man's a disgrace. The whole of the Western World has stood by without one word condemming Netanyhau.

Earthmother9 Tue 29-Jul-25 15:46:40

Of course they are real, you can't fake that kind of starvation.

icanhandthemback Tue 29-Jul-25 15:49:34

I am no fan of Starmer but I think he is doing really well to walk the troubled path that Trump leads him on. Whatever else, I do think Starmer has shown himself to be a good Foreign Ambassador I am not a fan of Sadiq Khan either and as he was the one who allowed the Trump in a nappy to fly on his last State visit, I'm not surprised Trump dislikes him.
Quite frankly, what is happening to the children in Gaza is revolting, disgusting and a whole host of descriptive words. I'm with Bob Geldof when he says that disgusted Isreali's should be taking food to the starving. Anything else is just noise.

Maremia Tue 29-Jul-25 16:15:32

I wonder how the Labour Party Cabinet meeting went this afternoon? Must try to catch an update.

Mojack26 Tue 29-Jul-25 16:15:52

Agree I thought it a very poor choice of words, heartbreaking and distressing..yes. but he's sucking up to the big boss man....Trump!

woodenspoon Tue 29-Jul-25 16:57:29

What could he have said, he was caught unawares. He answered with that word. Possibly he could have said more. I’m no fan of his, far from it, but the word he chose was not a wrong one.

I have never seen a rabbit caught in the headlights so can’t
comment

Nor have I, Annie. Rabbits are usually seen on the verges than in the middle of the road in these parts, but the number of times I see that cliche trotted out makes me wonder whether it's more common in some places than others.

On. the contrary - he has just laid out a complex list of the targets Netanyahu has to meet or we in the UK will join in the call for statehood.

Rabbit in the headlights? No, painful concentration, for it is a very painful subject and great responsibility.

Rabbit in the headlights is imo trivialising an unbearable situation... how can you?

Will Hamas comply , give up parliament?

Oreo Tue 29-Jul-25 18:39:26

Will Hamas comply , give up parliament?

Starmer said that hamas have to give up hostages and disarm and give up any ideas of being included in Gaza’s government.
It’s all a bit of a PR exercise really, as only the US have any chance of persuading Israel to do anything.
As for hamas, they’re extremists so can’t be predicted.

Surely no government would agree to a terrorist run government in Gaza , Hamas will have prepared for these
demands surely,
I fear they will not give up their power

Iam64 Tue 29-Jul-25 18:54:01

Exactly Oreo. I was fortunate to do a Nile Cruise and tour of cities, pyramids etc. the guides were university lecturers , historians, Egyptologists etc. it was a one of big adventure in January 2023 so the war in early stages and travel still relatively safe.
Our guides were very clear that Egyptians wanted their fledgling democracy to increase. To have a president who wasn’t military or ex military. They’ve absorbed refugees from Syria, Lybia, Lebanon and more. They feared Islamic brotherhood and other groups getting in if they took more refugees from Palestine.
