Good morning all froma bright day in the East Neuk, the weather yesterday turned out be sunny, much better than the West Coast.
As predicted, DH went rogue. After religiously setting up the sat nav, he totally ignored it, because it was wrong.
Consequently he added another twenty minutes onto our journey. 🤬
I was so disappointed not to get my statue, there was only one available and DH didn't like it, because it had no arms.🤣
I said I thought our others were like that and he proceeded to get out his phone and show me pictures of the ones we already have, to prove me wrong Who on earth keeps photos of statues on their phone? 🤷♀️
I discovered there was a garden centre near our hotel which sold statues and had DH driving up and down a country road, looking for it. It was only after rechecking it, back at the hotel. I discovered it shut down ages ago. Give him his due, he said nothing. 🤣
I was so excited to find my favourite boutique was open, it is usually closed on a Monday.
I had told myself, that I would limit myself to only one item. Do you believe me?
I am afraid that I got rather carried away. Then disaster struck. My card, which I had used earlier was declined, again and again. I was mortified. Fortunately, I had my debit card with me.
I then went next door to the delicatessen, to stock up on my favourite cheese sables, where it was declined again. It was then that I began to panic, for I needed it to pay
the hotel bill. 😱
I checked the bank app, to see if there was anything on it, but nothing.
Eventually, when we got to the hotel, where there was WiFi, (it was practically non existent in the village with the boutique) I saw a text from my bank. It said there had been '^suspicious activity^ on my card and it had been blocked!!
Surely, the bank would know that I tend to run amok in this shop!!! 🤣
All sorted now.
Our hotel is rather rustic, but the staff are lovely and the food, is amazing.
It specialises in sea food I had the most delicious seafood combo. It is the most I have been able to eat in months.
The After Eight ice cream sundae was very tempting (my mouth is still painful), but I knew it would be too much for me. The kind waitress offered to make me a mini one, which cooled my mouth down.
We had two strolls, pre and post dinner around the picturesque harbour, where we saw our dream house. It overlooks the harbour and has two golf practice greens, leading down to the sea.. DH was rather envious.
Today we are off on an adventure, just the two of us, using our free bus passes. It will give DH a break from driving those narrow coastal roads. We are going to see where the wind bus takes us.
GM, safe journey for your son and anyone else, who is travelling.
For those of you spending time with family, enjoy. FGT, you must be overjoyed at having your DH home.
I have awoken with a sore chest and horrendous cough and am debating whether to break into my rescue pack, but don't really want to start the work of the devil steroids and nausea inducing antibiotics.
I will give it until this evening.
Have a pleasant day folks.
