Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry here in Brackley , with a very dull looking sky .
Routine as per usual ,getting bus to Bicester , with a slight route diversion due to roadworks in Brackley.
Hopefully chat to former work mates plus some others I have met waiting for the bus , there is a burger bar not far from the supermarket which does all day breakfasts ,tempted to try one day.
Health OK , weight steady but low.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from Bristol. We had about 3 hours of fine drizzle, perfect for dry soil, wetting it and no risk of runoff as it was brick hard.
I took out the lobelia from my pots and replaced them with little annual begonias. What was left, I put round my damson tree.
I spent the day entirely alone as is usual on a Tuesday. I had a quick chat with DS before he left. He must be well on his way now. I hope all goes well for him the other end.🤞
FAB cafe today, so I baked a few fairy cakes. Then nothing. That means I can get on with the patchwork for DGS.
I hope all is well with everyone. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Mick and GM from a dry north Wales, we too had a drizzly day where I could barely see the mountain behind us and the garden is looking better for it 🤗

It’s a quiet week here at PG Towers but I do enjoy reading about everyone else’s gallivants near and far, especially to places Ive never been - keep firing up my imagination for a jolly girls outing😉

Not so good reading about health challenges with family and friends but the sheer quietly-getting-on-with-it is uplifting 💐

Have a good day folks x

Good morning from the NE where the sky is grey but the forecast is for a pleasant day.
Yesterday was mostly spent resting as I am struggling with hip pain.
I am going out for lunch with my two sisters and BIL today but a very late lunch as one of them has to have their vitamin B12 injection before we leave.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from Chester where it’s supposed to be cloudy with a chance of showers.

It was sad saying goodbye to my nieces and their little ones yesterday but we made lots of happy memories.

Train journey was good as I sat with a lovely couple who were going to Majorca for a holiday so we chatted all the way and they helped me with my rather heavy luggage!

My friend was waiting for me at Chester station and I don’t think we stopped talking until after 10pm when we went to bed.

We started school together aged 5 in 1961 and have always been best of friends. We even had babies within days of each other although, sadly, her eldest son took his own life aged 33 .

It was interesting reading all the Chester connections yesterday, lots of you seem to have lived here or visited.

My friend’s garden slopes down to the Dee so there’s a lovely view (photo in case you’re interested) and many memories as this was her family home so it is very nostalgic being back.

Hope you all have a good day.☀️

Good Morning from a wet Midlands, rain through the night but the ground was crying out for it so it is welcome.
Sorry for those not feeling so good.
Out for lunch tis at with a friend so looking forward to that.
Nothing but road works and diversions here too Mick, went out yesterday for an hour and when I returned my road was blocked off.

Good morning from a dreary corner of La Sarthe. Yesterday, after a bright start we had fog for a couple of hours! Autumn begins to make itself felt already!!

Yesterday, I managed to clean the inside my car although it was a struggle. The result was worth it, however. In the afternoon we drove to a nearby town for DH to collect a long awaited parcel, containing items related to his model railway hobby.

I hope your hip pain has eased enough for you to enjoy your lunch, harrigran. The only pain relief I can have for arthritis is 4/5 hourly paracetamol - would that help you?

Safe travels to your DS, grandMattie.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩🥰🇫🇷💐🦩🦩

What a lovely place, Bellasnana! Thanks for the photos. My DD2 and family live in Crewe so we visit Chester occasionally - lovely city!

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy with sun today. Shorter days, cooler nights

Ocado is coming at 8, I bought a smart pass in a mad moment and I hope it was worth it

Odds and sods today, no allotment as I took another 4 trugs of soil yesterday afternoon. I think my lower back/hip aches are caused by that, the lifting and twisting. I calculate another 14 trugs of soil left but cannot be doing any more until my butternut squashes are ripe. They are mini but pretty big now, only 2 plants but 5 squashes sitting on top of my vegtrug at home. I cannot think they will grow any more but have noticed that ripening has started

Speaking to two people on the allotments yesterday, they also think that the season is a month ahead of itself, the life cycle of the plants says so, it is better than any calendar. So I intend to be stocked up for winter, La nina is being predominant with potentially cold rather than warm.

Today, I think a nice cycle ride is on the cards. Bed changing and bedroom bottoming first, washing will go out and perhaps some garden work later today. Then I have one last skirt to shorten

Have a good day

Good morning from a wet Cambridgeshire. Today I have my haircut and colour which will take most of the day as I travel a fair distance to and fro and usually hit the shops for a browse before returning home. It is DD2’s birthday this weekend want to buy a small surprise gift. I’m still also trying to shake this awful cold off so a bit slower than usual.

That is a gorgeous view from your friends house Bella. It sounds like you are having a lovely break.

Thinking of Madeleine and hoping her eye procedure went well yesterday and she is feeling comfortable.

Also thinking of FGT’s 💐

Take care everyone and hope today is kind to all

JamesandJon33 Wed 30-Jul-25 06:46:44

Bore Da .Sunny and bright here in SW Wales.
Bit of gardening to do today and beans to pick and freeze. Perhaps if the weather stays reasonable a short walk by the sea.
All possibilities.
Have a gentle day everyone .

kittylester Wed 30-Jul-25 06:48:50

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire. We, too, seem to have had rain overnight.

We had a lovely catch up with DH's sister in law, her sister and brother in law. And a lovely lunch.

Today, I have an appointment for an eye injection.

Have the best day possible everyone.

glammagran Wed 30-Jul-25 06:52:11

Good morning from Wiltshire.

I hope the weather stays fine as we have DGD3 and DGS2 coming today for a sleepover while their parents go to a wedding. We will take them out for an early dinner and tomorrow we will drop them off with their other GP’s and we will stay and chat for a while with them.

I tried to book tickets to see Macbeth at Bowood House yesterday but it is sold out unfortunately. Instead I booked a week to Crete in the 2nd week of September.

Bellasnana you’ve packed alot into your time in the UK. You must miss the twins though. I hope your DS had a good journey to Tanzania yesterday GrandMattie.

Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Wed 30-Jul-25 06:57:27

Good morning from a cloudy hillside in south Glos, it’s damp around the edges as we had rain at last yesterday. There was that wonderful petrichor smell.
I started a coloured pencil online course yesterday, a very pleasant couple of hours with more today.
I will do a bit in the garden today, tidying up as flowers go over and scattering foxglove seeds around - I love my foxgloves.
I might pop into the village cafe on my dog walk this morning, it’s only open two days a week, I will see if I can persuade DH to come too.
Little else planned here, so I hope today goes well for you too 🌹

Greyduster Wed 30-Jul-25 06:59:04

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a damp, grey South Yorkshire. I had a dreadful night; woke with my heart hammering out of my chest and thought I was going to die! I drank a couple of glasses of water and eventually it settled down but then I spent the rest of the night going back and forth to the bathroom.
I cleaned all the blinds in the conservatory yesterday afternoon and was going to clean the windows in there today, but I haven’t got the energy to tackle them so it will have to wait. I hope to go to writers group at the library this afternoon but I’ll see how I feel.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Susan56 Wed 30-Jul-25 07:01:12

Good morning from Shropshire. After yesterdays rain a dry day is forecast.

We enjoyed our first balance and exercise class yesterday. After the class we all had coffee and a chat.

We will be in Cheshire today.First to mum’s house where we are meeting an estate agent as the original agent has been rubbish. Then onto the care home to visit mum.The last few visits have been good although she is getting very weak.

Thoughts to everybody struggling with pain, it’s so draining I hope Blossoming can speak to a dr today.

Wishing everybody a good day🦩🌻

Good morning from a dry and cloudy mid Essex. I think it will be a warm cloudy day. Yesterday was cloudy with a cool breeze, until late afternoon when it warmed up and the sun came out. Noticeably darker earlier now.
New blinds fitted yesterday morning and some furniture moved back to its normal place. I need to get rid of some of the stuff that was stored under the windows as it looks so much nicer without it.

I’ll change the bedclothes this morning and get it washed and dried. I’m going to DD1s tomorrow to look after their dog while they’re on holiday. Fortunately they only live a few miles away so if I forget anything I can come back for it. I’ll need to come back to check my tomato plants, tomatoes are beginning to ripen.

harrigran I hope your hip pain eases soon and that you enjoy your lunch out.

madeleine I hope your eye is more comfortable this morning.

Thinking of those who are suffering either physically or mentally and hope that today brings some relief for you.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a cloudy S E Essex.

I am feeling a bit uneasy, went out to dinner with my very good friend of over 45 years last night. She has always seen things, this time she was spot on.

She said she had a feeling that there was going to be an enormous earthquake under the sea very soon. I woke up to breaking news about Russia and the predicted Tsunamis…

Jaxjacky Wed 30-Jul-25 07:16:21

Morning from a sunny S Hants,my ester day was damp with light drizzle off and on.
Washing to do, hob and cooker need a light clean, then the vacuum will be unleashed.
Possibly over optimistically I'm going to get my toenails repainted, a friend does the gel for £10, bargain.
You’ve been busy Bellasnana what a glorious view you have right now.
I too hope Blossoming can get some medical help today.

Good morning all from a cloudy East Neuk.

We took everything at a slow pace yesterday and had such an enjoyable day, using our bus passes.
We were amazed at the fact that buses came when they were supposed to, at home they often don't turn up!
Our travel cost us nothing and I was fascinated by the conversations on the buses by the regulars, who all knew each other and were going to the nearest town to Lidl! No Sainsburys etc here! How on earth would I survive?🤣

To my amazement I overheard them talking about finding garnets and sometimes zircon on one of the local beaches. How on earth was I unaware of that information?
When my hands allowed, I used to make jewellery from semi precious stones, usually sourced at the markets in Rome. There were always stall selling strings of stones.
Sadly, I have lost the dexterity to do so.
The only reason I could hear was that they were sitting behind me and spoke in extremely loud voices!! They must be hard of hearing too. 😁

We are off home today, but will stop off in St Andrew's for supplies from M&S and a wee wander. DH needs some golf stuff and the roads are better, than the coastal route home.
All signs point to Glasgow, no ignoring the sat nav here.
I will be glad to be going home, we have had a gentle few days, but I am not feeling too great and we have BabyD tomorrow.
I've just noticed a missed called from from the surgery yesterday, I wonder what that is about. Hopefully it is for my COPD and heart annual review. It is already two months overdue. Last year I was referred back to the cystic fibrosis consultant, I still haven't had an appointment. The cardiologist recommended it in Dec 2023, my GP just ignored it, omitted to take action. 🤬

I wish you all a pleasant day and that your eye is not too troublesome, Madeleine.

cornergran Wed 30-Jul-25 07:24:19

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy corner of Somerset.

All tasks completed yesterday while it rained gently for most of the day we thought to take a drive out today. Where? No idea. See where the road takes us. I really must contact our gas engineer about a boiler service, one to add to my ever growing bits and pieces list.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Gingster Wed 30-Jul-25 07:31:16

Good morning all and the sun is shimmering on the sea. Not a soul in sight. Our beach is often deserted and even during the school holidays , few people visit, even though there is a caravan/lodge park just along the beach from us., We always have plenty of space.
Just up the coast, both ways, are popular holiday villages but we are mainly left alone which is lovely..

Going back to Essex today .

Dd,DGD and I walked up to the bar/ cafe and sat out on the patio for a pre dinner drink. A couple of ladies approached, beaming . It took us a couple of,e of seconds to realise who they were. Friends of DD’s from 30 years ago who always holidayed here and were firm friends but sadly lost touch.
A lovely hour was spent catching up.

Thoughts to all who are suffering one way or another. ❤️

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 30-Jul-25 07:42:10

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I’m still in bed but will get up in half an hour or so.

I am off to the hairdresser later for a cut. Before then I will pop into the picture framer and collect my latest print. This will go in my bedroom with my other summer exhibition prints. Just one to go which the artist will send out when the exhibition finishes in three weeks.

This afternoon I will help OH jar about 50 jars of honey and put the labels on.

I think we will have dinner out tonight.

Have a good day everyone. GM, many, many years ago we went on safari in Tanzania! We stayed in Arusha.

luluaugust Wed 30-Jul-25 07:43:10

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. House day today although I have three bags that need to go to the charity shop, see how I go. Yesterday’s day out with an old friend was lovely, we toured Knole at Sevenoaks and had a very light lunch.
Best wishes to all

Good morning from the MS coast, where the forecast is for a lower temp of 33 & possibly a thunderstorm. I have a dental app't after lunch, & after that I'd like to start a tray of seeds for late season colour.
I hope everyone has a "bright" day!
