Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but cloudy here in Brackley this morning.
Up to my usual tricks with the bus journey to Bicester ,as its market day it will be busy.
Have a Fish pie for lunch ,before watching todays stage of the Femmes Tour De France .
Health OK ,slowly gaining weight.
Take Care,
Mick

It is barely light here , but looks to be grey and damp outside.
DH and me off out this morning to do a little shopping. Varnish for the front door, paint for windows. A large store, and there aren’t that many in SWWales , so we will have a good rummage and probably lunch.
Have a gentle day Mick and everyone .

Good morning from Bristol. We had about two hours of showers yesterday. It will freshen things a lot.
I had a lovely long chat to my future roommate in a local, cafe and we found that we were both ardent sewers. I knew we were bookworms.
The rest of the day was spent cutting pieces and sewing them together for my latest quilt.
Today, I must go to town for a new telephone receiver as the one connected to my new super duper Wi-Fi is dead, although it worked perfectly well before. My ox man spent an afternoon trying to get hold of an oblivious me, which was how I found out.
I’m serving coffee in church tomorrow, so may/not bake this afternoon.
I hope the FGT appointment went according to plan, that everyone is finding life agreeable and problem-free.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩

Oh! Yes, and ‘Pinch, punch, first of the month’

Greyduster Fri 01-Aug-25 05:51:31

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a grey, breezy South Yorkshire. I think it will be a damp day. Mick I love a good fish pie! Hope you enjoy yours.
Yesterday I had a decent companionable walk, and then lunch at DDs. She was one her way back from running the Monsal Trail with a friend but had left my lunch, a salad of tomatoes, avocado, olives, rocket and mozzarella, in charge of GS who set the table, made me a coffee and was generally pleased to be serving me for a change. He stayed for a chat and then went off to play tennis with a friend. DD arrived home shortly after.
I am going to the gym this morning and, as there is a large Aldi nearby, I will do a food shop before I go home.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Yes 🐇🐇🐇 No rain so far this week, despite warnings - just sunny & hot here in MS. Coffee w/ the beach birds, & then home to enjoy working in my studio. Fridays always feel like a holiday to me!
I hope everyone has a happy day!

Good morning all. Patchy blue skies this morning, dry and possible sunshine in Glasgow today.

It was blissful to wake up yesterday knowing there would be no noisy, intrusive work going on in the garden now. My early 15mn dental appointment consisted of 3 gum injections, quick extraction costing £50! Wish I had given the pliers a go!
Window cleaner today, apart from that a day to myself to do whatever.

I was saddened to hear of Soop’s illness from a GN friend last night. I remember her decision to open the kitchen and joining her thread, a safe haven where she warmly welcomed all who joined her.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Good morning from sunny south Glos, we had a useful amount of rain yesterday accompanied by thunder at times.
A lovely morning in the Shed followed by an afternoon of knitting and watching the showery rain fall. It was really hot in the sunshine by late afternoon.
Housework this morning then more of the crafting, I will also do a bit of tidying in the garden to keep on top of the weeds etc.
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a dry start to our corner of Somerset.

Volunteering this morning, there will be much chatting and laughing. The car is having a wash and brush up this afternoon, a cuppa and a food shop on the way home.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from Kent. I'll be home in Essex around 2'sh.
A lovely evening yesterday, a nice meal, then Les Mis. It was just as good seeing it for the second time. We didn't get back til around midnight so I think it will be an early night tonight.
Enjoy your day, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from a dry W Kent. DB arrives today for the weekend, I had a food delivery yesterday so just a fresh loaf needed. I expect we shall sit and talk.
Best wishes

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, it’s bright and sunny with a cool breeze this morning. Very little rain yesterday despite dire warnings of thunderstorms all day! DD1 and family are away for the week, leaving me in charge of a very doleful dog, who doesn’t know where her family are! The dog walker will take her out later and hopefully she’ll cheer up then!
DD2 and family came home last night from their holiday in north Norfolk so I hope to see her today. I have to go shopping after breakfast.

Today would have been my mum’s birthday, lots of happy memories of her!

Have the best day possible, thinking of those who are struggling in any way.

Good morning from La Sarthe where it’s dull currently although the stunning sunset last night suggested a fine day in prospect.

Our friends whom we visited yesterday were pleased to see us and we enjoyed seeing their rather spectacular home complete with a menagerie of animals, including donkeys, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, five cats, two kittens and a beautiful Irish Setter. DH was in his element! Currently recovering from surgery on her cervical vertebrae, the wife has just been told she needs a similar operation on her lower back. Arthritis has caused severe wear and tear although she’s only 45! Her lifestyle as a professional stunt rider in the past has exacerbated the problem. Her husband is French and works as a crewman on holiday yachts.

I hope today brings good news for the poorly folk and safe journeys to those who are travelling. 🦩🥰🇫🇷💐🦩

Good morning from a cloudy S E Essex, it is trying to brighten up.

Off to the gym first thing, then a coffee and catch up with friends afterwards. This evening DH and I are going to the local Italian for dinner.

Cannot believe that it is already 1st August 🐇🐇🐇

The eldest GS was 17 yesterday, he spent the day at Battersea spending his birthday money (the old power station is now shores and restaurants) and that of DS and his wife 😹😹😹 He had already had a BBQ with his friends at the weekend.

Thinking of dear soop 🙏🏻

Enjoy your day 🙋‍♀️

GrannyGravy13 Fri 01-Aug-25 07:21:28

Oops, safe journey back here Sar53 🚈🚇🚈

Good morning from s somerset, a cloudy bright day today

That uphill walk did me no good at all yesterday, the muscles around my hip were so sore afterwards. I worked on myself and ate the appropriate anti-inflammatory foodstuff. Much better today

My sewing room and the machines are cleaned, I closed the door and that is that for sewing until spring. My mojo can take a rest

Spinning of the beautiful black/grey/white top (spinning fluff) is finished and have plied my first two bobbins ready to skein. Destined for a jumper for ds, he will be needing the warmth where he lives, Glasgow

I loved the spinning session, also it keeps my legs moving and I am going to start another different fluff. Photo. It will take me a year

Off to the allotment later, cycling there late morning. There are hundreds of sprouted seeds on the beds, they look like dormant weeds and not phacelia, which has distinctive seed leaves. I will be weeding today around strawberries and winter veg at the least

My delivery just came including beef bones so I will be making real beef broth from those, they have to start with a very hot roasting, then long simmering with a mirepoix mix and some apple cider vinegar

Have a good day

ginny Fri 01-Aug-25 07:29:44

Good morning ever. It is dull but dry here in N. Bucks but I think we shall have showers at some point.
Golf for DH so I shall enjoy some crafting after a few home jobs.
A good day wished for all .

EkwaNimitee Fri 01-Aug-25 07:31:15

Good morning Mick and everyone from damp Carlisle where it has rained overnight, just in time to save me from getting the watering can out.

Yesterday was just a pottering sort of day. I sorted through my winter trousers, all fitted me, thank goodness, but most of them I deemed only fit for house wear. What that means is that I have justified the purchase of one or two more pairs!
Hopefully this morning when I am going into town anyway. I need to do some shopping for fresh items and other things and also to prod the pharmacy who are taking an unduly long time to fulfil my prescriptions. I get a tad worried sometimes thinking of unreliable supply chains of medicines as I can't be without two of my drops/pills.
I'll treat myself to coffee whilst out and doubt I'll be able to resist ginger biscuits with it. I don't do it so often now having once calculated the monthly cost. It's not that I couldn't afford it but....
DS2 once did this and promptly gave up his and wife's daily dose and bought a coffee machine....money saved in spite of the upmarket machine.

Wishing you all a good day if possible.

brook2704 Fri 01-Aug-25 07:31:18

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a cloudy grey start to the day
A lovely kind gesture from your DGS greyduster
I’ll call into DD2s this morning and then a quick lunchtime dance class at the gym. This afternoon I’ll finish getting the bedrooms ready for family visiting next week.
Safe travels for everyone on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from dry South Lanarkshire.

I don’t know where July went, it has whizzed by.

We took the children home to Edinburgh at teatime yesterday, they had had a great day in our local park, running, jumping, climbing and generally letting off steam. The eldest needs a good run every day, much like a lively pup.

Today will be spent straightening up the house and relaxing.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a cloudy but brightening Black Country.

Despite thundery showers forecast for yesterday, we didn't have a drop of rain and it turned out very sunny in the afternoon.

Took Mum out to lunch, then food shopping. I was saddened to realise that Mum did not remember her granddaughter (my Niece) visiting at the weekend. Apparently she sat and chatted to her for quite a while with all her news of life in London, and her plans to buy a flat there. Nope, no recollection at all sad

Trying a new walking group walk today.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 01-Aug-25 07:41:13

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

My granddaughter will be dropped off by her parents later today. She will be staying until Monday evening. Her room is ready. I have made a list of possible outings for the next few days. The weather forecast isn’t very good so what we will do will depend on how much rain there is!

OH was unable to obtain any more honey yesterday. The bees were too aggressive.

Have a good day everyone. I hope the FGT2s had a good hospital visit yesterday.

Bellasnana Fri 01-Aug-25 07:42:02

Good morning from Chester where I’m still in bed but the weather seems pretty good.

Had a lovely day with my goddaughter and her little girl yesterday. Her father joined us for a delicious lunch in a really pleasant country pub so that was good. Her mum was my best friend at school but sadly died nine years ago aged 60. I’m sad she missed out on so much, she so wanted to be a grandmother but didn’t live to see her grandchildren growing up.

Today another very good friend from when we started school aged five is picking me up for a get together. I seem to have packed a lot into this couple of weeks!

The boys called yesterday, I do miss them and will be happy to be back with them next week.

DD2 FaceTimed whilst she was driving from South Florida to Tennessee, a thirteen hour drive with the car loaded to the gunnels as they are relocating.

DGD starts at yet another new school today. She seems happy about it and looks forward to meeting new friends.

I, too, am so sad to hear of Soop’s illness. Such a lovely, kind lady who has had more than her fair share of ‘buggerations’.😞

Redcar💐

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Pinch and a punch… White rabbits 🐇
