Good morning from a very very sunny start to the day here on the east coast of Fife it’s a little windy but I don’t mind that I’ll not be going out today as my neighbour is going to be visiting, she’s a real friend and is my emergency contact. We’ll have a coffee together and a really good chat.

luluaugust a very happy birthday enjoy your day take care and keep safe 🎂🎉💐

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Dry start.

My 2 new helpers arrived yesterday evening and we had a nice dinner party getting to know eachother.

Today I'm on duty at the open house, serving coffee and cakes.
I must make lists of jobs for the Helpers.

We went to the IOM for our silver wedding anniversary. My DH dad's family had come from there so we spent a lot of time in graveyards and poring over records.
He had an ancestor who had translated the bible into Manx and then saved it from the waves by holding it high during the stormy crossing to have it printed in Liverpool.

Happy birthday luluaugust enjoy your special day.

Hope everyone has some joy today.

Good morning all. A sunny .but slightly chilly start to the day in Glasgow today, more autumnal than summer.

It’s time again to prune and cut back prolific perennials which would take over the garden otherwise. A cousin who lives nearby will pop in for a coffee catch up at some point other than that, a day in the garden going at my own pace is something I find so relaxing and therapeutic. Pity I don’t feel the same about housework !

Happy birthday Luluaugust and many happy returns of the day. 🎂 Enjoy your special day with your DH and DB.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.

Good morning from another grey and cloudy Black Country.

Great new walking group yesterday. Only about 3 miles, then coffee in a cafe in the village. I was back home on the bus by 1pm. I was surprised to find on the journey out (as it was before at 9.30am )the the cost has now gone up to £2 with the senior pass. The bus driver said if he had his way there would be no cost at all at any time! At least it was free on the way back.

Bit of housework today, then tonight we are over Solihull way for a meal with MrJ's 2 brothers, a cousin and wives. So 8 of us altogether.

Wishing you all the best day possible, with special thought of the Soops and FGT's

Good morning from cloudy Anglesey. This is our first visit since we travelled the night of the fire in the A55 Conwy tunnel. A much easier trip this time!
DH has nipped to Benllech to get some supplies.
Our friend who lives on the other side of the island is coming across to visit us this afternoon and will stay for tea. We met at college in 1983 and have been firm friends ever since.
Tomorrow I'll hopefully get time to tidy up my raised bed. The caravan park grounds are maintained by the owner, but my raised bed is my responsibility.
Happy birthday Luluaugust. 🎂
Sounds like you're doing really well, Madeleine.
Wishing everyone a good day. 🌻

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we are promised a dry day. I am late this morning due to another broken night. I have nothing to get up for, however, so will linger with my book this morning, and I might cut the lawn this afternoon.
DD and the menfolk came yesterday for a roast dinner and very enjoyable it was too. I made a crumble with some of the windfall plums and they were delicious - sent DD home with a large bagful. I will look for a jam recipe. It saddened me somewhat that DH wanted a plum tree and so he planted this one some years ago now, but it has only produced plums in any numbers once before and he is not here to enjoy them this time. I hope they have plums in heaven (if that is, indeed, where he’s gone😊)!
On Thursday I bought a cut proof glove from Dunelm and I will begin to cut some lino blocks for printing. When I did the course last year, there was much need of plasters!!
Have the best day you can, folks!

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.

Volunteering was very enjoyable yesterday, we were busy and the morning flew past. The car is now gleaming and no doubt a target for the seagulls. After believing our supermarket sweep had sorted food for the week we’ll be heading out again later, an unexpected visit from family tomorrow. Of course we don’t mind, we’ll enjoy their company and M&S will provide.

Wishing luluaugust a very happy birthday. flowers for usedtobeblonde .

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire, still cold but I think it’s going to be a warm day. Happy Birthday Luluaugust, sounds like a nice day planned.

How sad grandMattie that your monthly meeting was the only time that some of your neighbours got to chat to others. It sounds that it performed a very useful service.

Unfortunately I didn’t get great news at my ophthalmology appointment and will start having regular injections in two weeks time, of course it’s good that something can be done and of course I’m grateful for that. A bit unsettling though.

An unusually quiet few days ahead so I plan to use them fruitfully to tackle at least some of the clearing out that needs done.

Pantglas2 When I was I was a student 60 years ago I worked with some friends in the Isle of Man over one summer. It was in The Good Companions hotel on the front in Douglas.and was the best summer job I ever had. The staff were mainly Irish from both the North and South and apart from introduction to the politics pre the Troubles we had such a laugh together. The manager was a lovely gentleman called Mr Warbuton and he and his assistant Vera ran a very happy ship.
Such good memories.

Good morning from another cloudy day in Cambridgeshire.

Today is DD2’s 41st birthday and we are off to Newmarket races. DD1 and family should have been joining us as it was to be a family day out but they are not coming now🤷‍♀️. However there will be 10 of us just hoping the sun may make an appearance and it will be a bit warmer than the last few days. The 11 & 6 year old DGC are excited.

Happy birthday to Luluaugust 🎂🎉 Hope you have a lovely day.

Hope everyone has a good day

Good morning all and it’s cool and overcast here in Essex.

Thanks Marydoll 💐. I hope up you have a ‘good’ day. 🙏.
Redcar I felt just the same yesterday afternoon sitting in my conservatory listening to the rain, reminding me of times in our caravan. I love it and it always sends me off to sleep.
Grandmabatty I do hope you have some relief from your painful feet. You’re even suffering in bed! 😫.

Happy birthday Luluaugust. 🎈🥳.

We had a lovely catch-up with our Friday friends and DH’s ‘oldest’ pal of 70 + years, has offered to take us to our seaside abode in our car and catch the train home, so we’ll be left with a car to potter around with.
How kind of him. He’s researched the best way to do this and said he’ll enjoy the pretty train ride with a book to pass the time. There is so much kindness still in this worrying world. ♥️

Dh will go with ds1 to watch a local footie match today. I hope it doesn’t rain on them.

I’ll enjoy an empty house and maybe catch up on some Netflix dramas.

Take care all and prepare for Storm Floris.💨🍃🌬️.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Now on day 2 of antibiotics and starting to feel a little better. The antibiotics are making me drowsy and dopey.

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but hopefully get some sun later to dry the grass out so I can cut it later today.

We had some really heavy downpours yesterday, one just as I got off the bus at the shops and had to take shelter for about 10 minutes. By the time I had finished shopping it was warm and sunny.

Shall be walking up to DS's house after lunch to give the DGDs some spending money for their holidays; they are all off to Gran Canaria on Monday. I shall probably see DD there as well as she will be picking their little dog up,.who has been staying at DS's while DD and her husband had a few days away visiting in-laws in N. Ireland. In return they will have DS's dog for a week!

Hope.fully cut the back grass when I get back.

Have now received all my Women's Rugby World Cup match tickets, so have printed them all off.
Booked a holiday yesterday, two weeks touring SE Spain next March, Valencia to Malaga.

Will now.go back and read the thread properly!
.Wishing all a pleasant day.

Hugs to all suffering. We all cannot be perfect.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast. Carried on with my acrylic cloud painting yesterday, but not happy. At least I can go over bits I don’t like.
FaceTime with flying DD in Delhi, she shows me her hotel etc.,the wonders of modern technology.

In the evening by train into the city and a meet up with soprano friend and lots of chat, good fun. We intend to return to an opera company of old in the autumn.
A slight recovery position day today as on returning home, I danced round the sitting room for more exercise and have had a night of cramp…

Happy birthday luluaugust and thoughts to all🌺

@ Madeleine check out Amazon for this and similar one handed eye droppers.
I bought one for my late father after his glaucoma operation (some years after mum had died) and it was invaluable.
Other makes and types are available, so do have a look. Ignore the US$ pricing they adjust it to £££ at the checkout.
