U.K. seasides !

Lyme Regis always charms. Its crumbling Blue Lias stone is so unstable the modernists have to leave the charming old town and streets alone.

We note that whatever the time of day: morning, noon and night, someone will be eating fish and chips.

Mind you, an ice cream is now the best part of four quid. Four pounds!

The beach at Brora. I love going there albeit visits are years apart.

I’ve not found a beach I couldn’t enjoy in some way . Easily pleased maybe. Love the huge Norfolk beaches, Lyme Regis, Looe, Bamburgh, the Gower, coves in Cornwall, the beaches at Portmeirion. and Tenby, Pembrokeshire beaches always give a sense of calm. It would be the unspoilt sands of Caldey Island if I had to pick a favourite.

Love the beaches of South Wales. The Gower coast has several and has (for UK) some of the lowest rainfall. The cute areas of the Pembrokeshire coast are very like Cornwall.

But I live now in travelling distance of the N Norfolk coast Cromer, Hunstanton, Wells are beautiful, but the roads are not great

The beaches are beautiful .

Colwyn Bay on the north Wales coast is great for families. My favourite is Llandudno for its long unspoilt prom with the Great Orme in the background.

North Norfolk coast for me. Love Wells next the sea but outside school holidays!

Yes I like Whitby too, and have plenty of choice in North Yorkshire but at the moment a favourite is Saltburn a bit further up the coast. Lovely beach, great funicular that goes down the cliff, quiet usually and peaceful. When life is tough or my back wakes me at stupid o clock and I cant get back to sleep I give up, stick all my coffee things etc in the boot and go off to saltburn and sit in peace and quiet watching the sea and drinking fresh coffee from my china mug! Ah that improves the morning. Then there are cafes and shops if I want them and the little railway at the park near Cat Nab. From there if the weather deteriorates I go back to Guisborough, which has an easy main street to park on and shops either side and do my shopping there, or drive down the coast road towards Whitby and stop at the park and ride. (Whitby is a nightmare to park and find a disabled space!)

Cromer for me, I love the place. Somehow it has got under my skin, the beaches are lovely sand and the sunsets spectacular. Love the end of pier theatre and make a special trip for the Christmas show. Must book another trip there

Who else loves beach huts? We always had one for seaside holidays when I was a child - there was a little stove thing for making the odd hot cup of tea when you came shivering out of the sea, and all the beach paraphernalia could be left there overnight.

We once had a week in Lyme with dd and 2 very little Gdcs - dh rented a beach hut on day one. It was a godsend for all the paraphernalia, inc the folding chair for Granny! Not to mention shelter from the occasional shower….

Oh yes, I love a beach hut! We’ve hired them for the week when we’ve been with the family to Scarborough, and dumped all the buckets, spades, towels, spare clothes etc in there on arrival. They came complete with kettle, microwave, sink and another British seaside icon, deckchairs. And a stiff brush to sweep all the sand out at the end of each day. Bliss!

I don't think you could. Nice idea for a summer holiday but have you noticed if you go to the seaside in winter they are all locked up?

West Wittering which is doable for us for a day trip. They now have a new toilet block which was as spotless when we left as it was when we arrived on a busy sunny day. Also the Kent coast beaches are lovely.

Yes! Love the beach huts. When my grandparents moved to the Sussex coast, their neighbours lent them theirs for our visits. I also wanted to live in it, inspired by the great work of literature I was reading at the time, Noddy, who seemed to reside happily in a tiny home, I felt I could make this hut my own in my dreams. Nowadays I marvel at what some of them change hands for in Mudeford for example. Lovely place to live, but these days I'd want something larger. I love the varying shades of pastel ones that line the sands in nearby Bournemouth

In Lyme they actually remove them all in winter, in case of heavy seas.

Seaham beach is a favourite of mine relaxing and great for collecting beautiful sea glass.
