I recently stumbled across this Keurig coffee maker that claims to brew a cup in under a minute:

into-the-definitive-single-serve-coffee-maker/

Has anyone here used it or something similar? Does it actually hold up long-term, or is there a better option out there? I’d rather hear real experiences before buying.

My AC are all going back to beans etc because of the plastic these type of machines use.

Just found this guy recently and think he's excellent (I'm just about to order a grinder now I know more)...

Lots of experience and lots of pros and cons.

He seems to cover all things coffee.

It’s the only coffee maker I use.The coffee comes out hot and is ready as they advertise in one minute. You can use the coffee pods or use ground coffee in a special container than can be bought separately . As I am the only coffee drinker in the house it’s perfect to make a single mug.My machine is about three years old now and if it broke down I’d get another one straight away.

Spoonful out the jar and boiling water into a cup dash of milk does me

Ours all use an aeropress for single portions.

I love my Nespresso machine. It does single mugs very quickly and I recycle the pods.

I've used this model for several years & it's been excellent.

I was always a coffee drinker from the age of 10, black no sugar. Then I had to have chemo and went right off coffee. sad. 8 years later I've progressed to one cup per day, instant with lots of milk and a tiny bit of sugar. The coffee must be left in the milk to soak for 10 mins and the water has to be 5 minutes past the boil. Can any of you proper coffee drinkers suggest a really mild ground coffee with no bitterness to help me on the next step to the real stuff?

If it’s just for one, I like the little Italian stovetop thing. For more than one it’s the cafetière.

My son has the small one-cup one that he takes to holiday lets. He has the full size one for at home. Always uses the refillable pods with either coffee he's ground himself or pre-ground. Makes lovely coffee which is always lovely and hot.

The little Italian stove top thing here too

Always a cafetiere. Never had a better cup from an expensive so called coffee maker and those nasty little.plastic dosettes.

PamelaJ1 Wed 20-Aug-25 16:31:53

As annifrance Same here, we grind the beans ourselves.

I think Lazy Sunday is quite smooth and rounded for a "next step" real coffee.
I think it's by Taylors.

I have a cuisinart one - grinds the beans then makes the coffee. Longer than 1 minute but still quick. Bought mine on offer, absolute bargain

LadyGracie Wed 20-Aug-25 16:54:37

Dualit coffee percolator, fresh ground coffee, takes 3 - 4 minutes.

Romola Wed 20-Aug-25 18:49:33

Paper filter in cone for me, boiling water dripped through ground coffee. I still think it's the best, and anyway, I can't be doing with bulky electric machines (Kenwood mixer excepted, in it's place under-counter).

4allweknow Wed 20-Aug-25 18:55:25

Use a bean to coffee machine for the 1 cup a week or for visitors.

Arto1s Wed 20-Aug-25 19:58:18

In our latest house, the fridge already installed, has a single cup Keurig maker. As I only drink tea, and DH only has one cup of coffee per day, this is perfect for us.

Thank you, I shall look out for that one.

My dd said that they used to have one but got rid of it because it was "full of bacteria". Her words

icanhandthemback Wed 20-Aug-25 23:51:45

Yes, we have a Keurig and love it for a quick cup of coffee. We also have a bean to cup machine which takes longer but can do all the fancy stuff too.
