What has happened to Schweppes tonic water, where’s the damn fizz gone, been buying these for ever, so expensive, but hey ho, £5 now for box of mini cans, to be honest, they’re now flat as a fart!
So tell me you gin lovers, what’s your fave tonic, I’m looking for non flavoured, just want a decent fizz that hits ne in the back of the throat……

Fever tree is the only one I've found that doesn't have artificial sweeteners.

I used to test tonic water in the Schweppes lab. It always had a relatively low carbonation (fizz) compared to other drinks. I doubt this has changed, but it might seem flat compared to other brands. Personally I like less ‘fizz’.

Buy a Sodastream machine and make your own. Fizz as you go! Much cheaper and greener.

I like Fever Tree or Fentimans in gin, but I drink a lot of tonic water on its own and find that it always seems to have a bit more fizz when it’s not added to gin than when it is. Just an observation.

I buy Tesco’s own. Seems fizzy to me.

The Elderflower one in Lidl is lovely (glass bottle)

M&S's own brand is my favourite but Fever Tree is also good and seems to be in most supermarkets now. I prefer plain tonic or elderflower but I'm not keen on the fruity flavours.

I recently attended a talk by a gin manufacturer, and a member of the audience asked if they could recommend a tonic water that complemented it the best. The reply was Fever tree.

Thanks for all your suggestions, have tried several, still some to go, but fever tree is the best so far😀

For Menopausel . . . .and "it's also full of sweeteners" . . . .erm, WHAT IS?!

And for Bluesmum . . . ."alcohol free gin", well, whoever dreamed that up?! IsNibs once let me try an alcohol-free beer, and after that I won't be rushing to try more alcohol with the alcohol removed?!

As for the tonic, I've gradually had to swerve anything fizzy for a few years now, as the digestive system plumbing just cannot cope. My innards start to sound like the pipes in an old hotel when the boiler starts the heating going?

As a young woman, I worked for Sch, you know who. Not a fan of G and T but if in need of a change from vodka and coke, Fevertree range is great, especially the blood orange.

Yes Aldi for me too, much better flavour. I found Schweppes overly sweet.

I love Fevertree Mediterranean but Lidl is just as good & an unbelievable 3rd of the price
