kalu, I have no idea about a regular horse for Iris. She hardly talks to me, but I think that she rides whatever horse she is given - which makes her win all the more laudable.

Good morning all,
Good morning all, from Glasgow, where it is 12°C.
My post has disappeared.
I collapsed in town yesterday, fortunately outside a doctor's surgery, I couldn't have chosen a better place!!
A very long and embarrassing saga. I have surpassed myself on this occasion.
I may come back later and explain after I have phoned to speak to my useless GP. Perhaps hewill take notice how unwell I am.
It will be a long post.
I haven't read your posts yet, I'm a bit woozy and the painful lump on my head and headache are not
Have a pleasant day, whatever your plans.
Good morning from a brightening Isle of Man. A full day yesterday travelling around this beautiful island by steam train, bus and electric railway. It was chilly at times which felt strange after the hot weather recently.
My son messaged me from home to say he was sadly unable to fix my car which failed its MOT so the garage will have to do it. He saw my cat go up a ladder into the loft but thankfully it came down before he left. My neighbour is feeding it.
I return home today and as I’m not keen on Douglas and don’t sail until 4.30, I may spend time here and in Castletown.
Such devastating news Susan, such a tragedy, I’m so sorry,
Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Susan 🪻
Yesterday’s WI summer outing was fun. We had a train journey and a cream tea.
Not sure about today. I need to decorate a small fruit cake which I’ve made for younger son who is coming tomorrow for a few days. It was his 40th last week. My left thumb is still sore so I’m not sure how I’ll manage rolling out marzipan etc! I’ve also woken up with a numb left knee! I had a partial knee replacement three or four years ago…
OH was pleased with his bees yesterday. He thinks he can take off around 100 jars of honey next week.
Have a good day everyone. I’m thinking of the FG.
Blimey MaryD! 🌹
I wondered where you were Ekwa glad you enjoyed it, now recover!
Susan I have sent you a PM.
Hope the hospital were able to help you.
Oh, Susan, I am so sorry to hear your devasting mews.
I hope your health improves soon. Xxx
I’m off very shortly to my stretch class and have just skimmed through your posts and so sorry,Susan to read the devastating news in yours. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family and I hope your health remains stable and this news doesn’t hinder you returning to good health.
Good morning from cloudy s somerset
Susan I am so sorry about your news, you are having a very tough time
GM it was so nice to read about Iris and horse riding. I had my first horse at 40 took my first lessons at 37 and sold an item of furniture to buy her. That resulted in three horses and ponies and my dd winning the Royal Welsh pony- trecking championship, on a stocky pony she saved for, costing £260. Her gran gave her an early 21st birthday present towards the pony. She also had best in show, and all this on a stocky 12hh skewbald pony that was reminiscent of a pit pony and she also came from the valleys. Those days were the best ever, picnics, shows, pulling a trailer and the wonderful horsey company,
That pony eventually went to a village, the locals had her for a young disabled boy, to live on their farm in Wales. I still have the newspaper cuttings and the note from our MP congratulating dd. Dd was 12. I remember always playing horses, sitting on a chair with a skipping rope for reins, one day I made that dream come true.
I finished all my needle sorting and went to bed well past my bedtime and all my circular needles are now in filed pouches. I started with fixed circulars and have many but much prefer my interchangeables.
I think I will take a walk today for the exercise and then look at what I can remove from the shelving in my living room, I do want all the smaller knitting paraphernalia downstairs, close at hand
Garden is fine for now, I did scrub and disinfect the water feature yesterday and it is now put away. It may go next year, another downsize, it has involved too much work this year and anyway is six years old and the solar panel is clouded
Marydoll so sorry to hear of your fall yesterday, I hope your GP pays attention this time
Good morning. I’m a little late so have just skimmed through for now and will come back later.
I did notice posts from Susan and Marydoll . Sorry to hear both lots of news.
My Sister in Law went home yesterday after a couple of pleasant days.
My diabetic apppointment went well, all the numbers were good. Nurse was very pleased with my just over 2 stone weight loss. She did wonder if I had used injections, No way !
Jobs for today include tidying and cleaning all kitchen drawers , bed changing and garden pottering. Watercolour painting this afternoon.
Wishing all a good day and thinking of those who have worries and troubles.
Good morning from my last day in Holland.
Condolences Susan on your sad news and I hope you are feeling better.
We are having a day out before my flight home tomorrow.
DH should be home either Sunday or Monday depending on tides, winds and weather.
I'm anxiosly waiting to hear from S re her exam results after her very tough year, my fingers are firmly crossed 🤞.
I hope today is a better one for you Marydoll.
I hope you all have a good day, best wishes to all xx
Good wishes to Susan and Marydoll who are both having a more than difficult time; life does seem to throw more at some people than they should ever have to cope with. Luckily all I have to deal with is admiring my newly painted dresser which looks wonderful and will need to brave the supermarket. Like Grandmattie I find that many people are away so that August is a bit long and empty but fortunately I have plenty to read.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Much cooler today.
I was so sorry to read your news Susan. So hard for everyone concerned.
I will be making pots today for our open studios/arts trail.
My DB has asked to visit next month with his DD and family.
My DGS1 passed his driving test yesterday, what with his 4 As at advanced Higher, he's doing well except he has no idea what he will do yet. except leave home
Well done to your Iris, gMattie
She's a true star. I used to volunteer with RDA and was very impressed by the incredible resilience and ability witnessed such as the blind children doing dressage.
Hope all have a pleasant day.
Good morning everyone.
Marydol I hope you are feeling better today and that your GP will become supportive of you following your collapse. You must feel as if you are swimming against the tide much of the time.
Lovely to see you back Ekwa what an interesting adventurous holiday you’ve had
So sorry to hear about yesterday Marydoll 💐
Safe journey home Holly and everyone else on the move today
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.
Yesterday’s visit to Lancashire Eye Centre went well, we have agreed that as the Botox is helping we will continue with it every 6 months. Cataract surgery is off the table for now as I am coping perfectly well and I no longer drive. I know many of you have had successful surgery but my eyes are already damaged and the surgery presents a risk of further damage.it will take a day or two for my vision to settle now.
Thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles.
Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing 🌹
Good Morning from Durham, where it’s bright and sunny, following a couple of disappointingly cool, grey days.
Coffee this morning, then taking Little Dog back to DD2 and returning via Bank.
I won’t witter, just sending sincere condolences to Susan. a scenario for which there are no words.
I hope your useless GP gets his arse into gear after yesterday!! Take it easy 💐
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning from Lancashire. Quite chilly here this morning but still no sign of rain. I've got used to wearing the minimum of clothing but have put on a cardigan today.
So sorry to hear Susan's sad news. So tragic when someone decides that life is not worth living
madeleine's post was interesting. I'm in the same position as regards books. I love being surrounded by books but I buy a lot of paperbacks from charity shops and then don't know what to do with them. This town lacks a second-hand book shop. Tesco takes them but I can't go in supermarkets and the book shop is not on the ground floor. If only they had a collection point by the door.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny south coast.
I overslept so I’m in a rush. Must be the cooler nights because I slept more deeply than usual.
DD is picking me up at 10 to go to the tip with a few bits and pieces. We’ve both been decluttering. I’ll will also take a look in their shop because the allotment needs a new rake.
The garden center is just up the road so……
Hope everyone has the best possible day.
How shocking for you and your family Susan56
Your GP needs a rocket up his backside Marydoll. I hope you get a more positive response out of them today.
Good morning from East Yorkshire.
Susan I was sorry to read you’ve been back in hospital. I did notice you were missing. What a tragedy about your niece. Yes there are no words but thinking of you and her family at this sad time. 💐
Thinking of you too Marydoll time to stop gadding about?
Good morning everyone from a cloudy and cool Northampton, looks like staying like this all day.
Had a lovely day out in London yesterday, visiting the Houses of Parliament, where we were due to meet our MP, have a tour and then a meeting with him, re the shortage of doctors surgeries in our area. Unfortunately, he was otherwise detained, so sent three of his staff to greet us. They gave us a good tour, but were not able to facilitate the meeting. The journeys both ways were.hassle free thankfully. On arrival back in Northampton, my friend and I went to a local pub for a meal, so no cooking when we got home!
A coffee morning shortly with neighbours, (hopefully with gossip and news!), then a Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon will complete my day.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good Morning all, sorry to read your sad news Susan and that you’ve been in hospital again. Also thinking of you too Marydoll hope you are feeling a little better soon after your collapse- and that your doctor now takes some notice of you.
Have the best day you can folks x
