it is obvious this winter the majority of us will have to watch the pennies. The other day when I was sorting through knitting patterns many vintage ones were for bedjackets some very pretty ones and I was thinking that they could be great for the winter time. nothing worse than sitting up in bed reading or having a cup of tea, cosy legs and feet in bed but your arms and chest get chilly! when i had my daughter many moons ago I had one for hospital mum gave me. i thought it would be a waste of time especially as hospitals are so hot but for early morning feeds etc it was great and I used it when I got home. Just wondered would anyone use or is using a bedjacket?

I think my fleece (s) might have to be surgically removed from me at some point. When it’s warm it’s tied round my waist, ready to have my arms inserted if it gets chilly. When I’m asleep it’s on the bed waiting to be put on when I get up if it’s cold or if I sit up in bed to read.

I wear a fleece zip up jacket from Uniqlo in bed in the morning.

I bought mine from Amazon, Camille is the make. They are warm and soft. I wouldn't be without them as I like to read in bed. Also its just nice to put on when I wake up.

I read in bed a lot, mostly on my Kindle, but don’t need to sit up to do it. I’ll be still snuggled under the duvet.

I have four oodies. Two fleecy ones, a furry one that my DD bought and a red Christmas one.
They all come down to just above the knee, so cosy for those freezing winter evenings worn over pyjamas.

I knitted a pink cardigan for myself years ago. It was knitted so back and back half of sleeves were all in one. The front the same all in a kind of pattern which produced a light kind of lace impression. Wore it originally with Summer dresses and now used nightly as a bed jacket. Love it and dread it wearing out. Tried knitting it again but the long rows and the pattern together with arthritis and cataracts forced me to give up. Wearing it as I write this in bed on this cold morning. Would never go back to bed jackets as such.
