Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday , when I went into the bakery cafe in Bicester and had a Breakfast Bap , the staff said how much weight I have lost since my last visit to the cafe.
Today , housework and laundry this morning , before I watch the final stage of the Tour of Spain on TV .
Health OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from N. Bucks. A sunny dry start which will hopefully last.
DGS 2 will be arriving in just over an hour. His Mum, Dad and younger brother are going to a christening but he has rugby practice. He missed last week as he was poorly and will miss next week and proper games start the following .
We will watch him and then he will join us around the town food festival and we’ll have lunch there.
I think he wants to do something crafty when we get back.
Wishing everyone a good day and special thoughts for all who are troubled in any way.

Morning Mick, morning All. A heavy sky over our corner of Somerset. Rain and strong winds due in a couple of hours.

Faffing and some clearing yesterday morning. The charity shop pile is growing. Enjoyed a chat with one of ours, couldn’t speak to our friend and she was off out when I called. Round two this morning. Not sure how many for a meal later, it could be two, three or four, with luck I’ll know an hour before although it’s an easily adjustable meal so no real pressure.

I’ll not be in tomorrow morning, we’ll be off far too early to the eye hospital in what is forecast to be foul weather. Life would be simpler if the hospital had a car park. Suspect we’ll drip into the entrance and leave a puddle in the waiting room. Oops.

Take care everyone. Hope Sunday is gentle with us all.

Good morning all, it is only 6°C here in Glasgow. Brrrr

Baubles, DH and I would have loved your visit. We did visit Pompeii, but Naples remains* on my bucket list.

Peli, my gladioli gave flowered and are gone!

Yesterday was not the gentle, stress free day I had expected. I was in the midst of making minestrone soup and fresh fruit salad, when DS appeared with my walking stick, (thank goodness), but no Babydoll. She has started dancing classes, heaven help the teacher.

Folishly, I mentioned that we had a new router installed and the time-consuming password change required.
DS is an experienced software engineer and he did look not pleased.
There was no need to change the passwords,, he said, everything is set up, to not have to change things. You will have to change everything back, so that the WiFi can reach the garden
My heart sank, because I had a pile of parish admin to access and print and I did not have time to waste, so I asked him to leave well alone.

As usual, DH didn't listen and he and DS started changing everything. To my annoyance, I found myself, unable to access anything, which did nothing for my fragile mood.
I was raging, to say the least.
However, DS did discover, that the engineer had left a cable unplugged and a piece of hardware had blown.
This part is really SIL's donaim, but I will order the part, he said.
SIL is a network engineer and there is great rivalry between them.🤣
I said I didn't really care, whose domain it was., I just wanted it fixed!
DS eventually left, saying everything was working, leaving me little time to get the parish admin done.
Unfortugately, not everything was working,
Five failed attempts later at re installing my printer and trying to get it to print, I decided to send the paperwork to DH's printer.
It too didn't work either.
At that point, I blew a gasket.🤯
Why are some men (DH) interfering old busybodies?.😉
As you know,I am very tenacious and my printer is now online.
Today, I will attempt to get DH's printer back online. I fear it will not be an easy task.

This is my last Sunday covering the AWOL chief sacristan, who has been in France for four weeks, sending me descriptions of his indulgent meals and wine! .
On his return, I will be easing back from my duties..
Last night the curate was unusually friendly and asked if I was OK.
On finding out my situation, he advised me to take a step back, I explained that I already been delegating and the decision was mine alone.
Then he took me aback by saying, he would offer up last night's Mass for me.
In our parish, we hold a tiny piece of the True Cross of Jesus, he also blessed me with it.
This was a compassionate side of him, we had never seen,

Today, we are having a sale in the parish hall, to get rid of the donations left over from the recent fête. I explained that, I was happy to help with making posters, arranging access etc., but I would not be helping to sell.
I shall wonder over during the later Mass, to see what is happening, do a bit of networking and then back to clear up after Mass.

Thank you all for your kindness and best wishes. It does help.

I wish you all a pleasant day and thinking of al, with burdens to bear.

Morning from my bit of South Lanarkshire, welcome home baubles, your holiday sounds perfect.

I am pondering whether I should ask for a check on my eye which still feels uncomfortable after my second injection for macular degeneration nearly a week ago. It was done at speed, I didn’t get enough ‘numbing drops’ and jumped when I felt the needle going in. It was a totally different experience from the first time but I don’t want to overreact. I’ll leave it till tomorrow.

All the talk about paint colours etc is encouraging me to get on with some much needed home decorating here. One of the problems is that I need a fair bit of electrical work done first (see above re eyesight) and it’s nearly impossible to find an electrician who is not snowed under with work.

Anyhow, it looks quite a bright day so I’ll push on and see how the day goes. Wishing everyone the best day possible x

Good morning from sunny Suffolk. We had a most interesting talk yesterday morning in the local United Reform church about the history of the building building and the origins of of the the religion which was only formed in in 1971.

It is flourishing with a regular congregation every Sunday of over 60. Off this afternoon to the building which was a bank since the 18th century.

I have some paperwork to read before an extra meeting on Wednesday and I would usually read them on Monday. I think today will be better in case of power cuts later. All our cables are overground and regularly we get power cuts. Overhead trees are not properly managed and cause cuts when they bang together but a small problem knowing the burdens others carry.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but feeling very chilly. I am afraid I have succumbed this morning and put the heating on. I don't normally do it till after the annual service, which is next week, but I just felt cold. At least I will have a warm towel after my shower!

Very much enjoyed the new Downton Abbey.film yesterday; they also showed a trailer for Hamnet, which I am going to be looking out for. Came out of the cinema to wet pavements after an apparently heavy storm, but then there was glorious sunshine.

Watched Last Night of The Proms and revelled in the beautiful music. Can't remember what else I watched as I think I must have fallen asleep in the armchair...

Three days worth of newspapers to catch up on today, and the women's rugby to watch.
A small gammon joint to cook for.dinner tonight, but it should give me three days of meals. Which reminds me I ordered four carrots in my Waitrose delivery this week - well they were enormous ones and I thought they would go off before I could use them all. So, I peeled and sliced them, blanched them in boiling water and open froze them, and now I have a large bag of frozen carrots in my freezer, ready to just throw into a casserole.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Long FaceTime with DD in the south re plumbers, decorators, insurers etc. She’s an excellent PA and I really appreciate her practical side, giving me second opinions on house maintenance.
I felt really chilly yesterday. This open plan house is fine in the summer, but not so great when it gets colder. As I’m practically in the sand dunes facing the Irish Sea, it takes a hammering.

Another quiet day awaits, which suits me. I need to start removing stuff for the decorator and my DS is coming over for the heavy stuff. I might have a sing through of my songs for the music club on Tuesday.

I hope you feel more cheerful today whywhywhy and thoughts to Blossoming and all🌺

Well awful night full of cold which has deemed to get onto my chest causing an awful asthma flare up. It would be a day I can’t get steroids unless I go through a lot of rigmarole. Never mind hubby out for the day so I will just take it easy and lots of hits drinks and inhalers planned. Very much different plans I had was to meet up with a friend at the local garden centre but not now. Hope you’re all ok and love reading your posts. X

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

Oh, it was most horrible!

Yesterday, I crashed into bed about 6 pm, utterly exhausted after another 16-hour shift, and was well conked out to about 11 pm when I got up for a cuppa and a bowl of Coco Pops, which I intended to have on the kitchen table. I went into the kitchen, switched on the light and there, on the lower wall between the sink and the kitchen table, was a great big EIGHT-LEGGED THING!

ARRRRGGGG! I screamed! I got the kettle going and put things in the mug and bowl as soon as I could; thankfully, the worktop is opposite that wall, so my back was towards it, then I ran into the living room while the kettle boiled, then had them on the desk in the living room.

Went back to the kitchen 1/2 hour later to wash/put away the mug, spoon and bowl, and to do 2 hot water bottles, and it was still there, lurking suspiciously! TAUNTING me! So I left the dishes on the worktop by the kettle as I couldn't get near the sink to wash them up, and unplugged the kettle, and plugged it into the bedroom, where I made the first bottle.

By the time the second bottle was due, ''the thing'' had vanished! It looks like it had had its soup and croissant almost-midnight snack and went back to bed! Thankfully! Dishes put away and me back to bediboos to conk out again!

Remember, recently I talked about that very bad-tempered, scary, moody woman I work with, the 4'10 skinny tornado with the personality of a rock on its death throes, and the temper of a T-rex on LSD? She asked me for my personal mobile number and personal email! Urm... Nope! She also wanted my Twitter so she can follow me on there! Also nope! And she actually found me on Instagram, which is quite easy as I have my actual name on there as well, at the @ name and a photo on my Profile. She sent me a follow request, but I ignored it, partly as she has only one photo of herself on there for about 3 years, no posts! Other staff told me she's been asking them, too, and even a few of our residents, most of whom turned her down!

Whatever you're all doing today, have a good one and try to stay away from scary things!

Good morning all.

A lazy day is planned here at Gravy Grange, DD and her boys are here for dinner later (roast pork, around 6pm) I shall enjoy the peace and quiet before the builders resume tomorrow 🙋‍♀️
