Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4°, still dark but dry. An early childcare day for me. Then a trip to Edinburgh with my ds for breakfast. It's a restaurant he's always fancied trying and I'm happy to go with him. I'll head home about lunchtime and then pick up the boys later. Then I'll drop off dgs1 at football training and dd will pick up dgs2 on her way home. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Bristol. It’s still dark but I haven’t looked out yet.
Quiet day yesterday. A funny episode in church. A lady (a neighbour) has decided to start coming to church. She uses a walker and, being deaf, naturally sat near the front. Unfortunately, she sat in the second row, where 6 close friends have sat for X number of years. They decamped to “my” row behind, with not much space. They were very put out and it seems it’s a permanent situation!
I finished the japonica jelly. I didn’t get many jars. Jelly always feels like a lot of work for little results.
I sat and watched various programmes on iPlayer. A favourite at the moment is on C4 ,”Astrid - Murder in Paris”, a French Walter presents.
The podiatrist is coming at lunchtime, I’m taking jams to the church, making more marmalade and possibly going to a local pub with WI this evening.
Hugs to those with mountains to climb.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

The 'rights' to seats at church is legendary! It was a perennial problem at my last church with much tutting (sotto Voce). Sounds like a productive day GrandMattie

Good morning from s somerset, still air all day and fine with sun

What a busy day I had yesterday, starting with prepping apples for the freezer , cleaning/sharpening/oiling several garden tools and culminating with the plant arrival, I put 60 sedums into the soil and 40 cheerfulness bulbs amongst the sedums.

I was so tired afterwards, I had my shower at 5.30 and put a change of clothes on, it would have been fatal if I had put my PJs on. Anyway it was a very satisfying day and I met a few people on the allotment

I am leaving for the sorting office at 8, I am sending two large parcels back to amazon. I am confused about the labelling, there is a QR code, which I printed but no label in the parcel. The office will print a label to stick onto the box. I assume this QR code could have done on my phone, There were no other options. I did the quicker refund route ie paid back into my amazon account, by lunchtime today, I need to know the QR code worked

After that, I am having a very easy day, perhaps a walk but nothing too strenuous. I watched Berkeley square last night while knitting, as I needed to stay awake. There are quite a few episodes left for me to watch

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 30°C.

Had a lovely catch up over coffee with my friend yesterday. She and her husband are off to Thailand for three weeks so I shall miss her.

I have a few things to do today but will watch the tennis from Tokyo first.

Wishing you all a good week ahead.☀️

Georgesgran Mon 29-Sept-25 06:11:06

Good Morning from Cyprus. A long day ahead, as we check out at noon, but don’t fly to Manchester until 11pm.

Really, just posted early to wish Marydoll all the best for today’s appointment and hope there’s some effective treatment available.

Best wishes to all. X

grandMattie Mon 29-Sept-25 06:19:57

Good morning from a dry start in Crewe for our journey home.

We’ve had a great weekend with my family - really relaxing despite how busy they are.

In haste as I need to pack for an early departure.

Good luck to those with medical appointments and journeys to undertake.

Good morning from Turkey. A lot more cloud today and I believe some rain showers are due later.
DH has a cold so we will not be doing much today. We both read a lot so expect more of that today.
Thinking of you all xx

GrannyGravy13 Mon 29-Sept-25 06:44:23

Good morning I haven’t looked outside yet but the days are certainly getting cooler.
A fairly quiet day today. DH is off to golf so I’ll see what unfolds. I will have a walk and pop in too see the new kittens at DD3s.
Wishing all a good day and hope all appointments, journeys and visits go well.

RosesandLilac Mon 29-Sept-25 06:53:43

Good morning, it’s dry here in south Glos, hoping for sunshine again today.
We did a strenuous walk down into the valley and a mile uphill back to the village yesterday, I have to say that I struggled. I’m not sure I will be doing that one again. It’s a beautiful walk, down a long bridleway with acorns crunching underfoot (I’ve never seen so many on the ground, they were in drifts), along the valley bottom then the long haul back uphill across fields.
I didn’t do much once I got back except have a shower, I was so hot and sweaty.
I slept badly last night, no idea why, very exasperating!
Off to volunteer in the school garden today, there are some plants that need relocating, including an Irish brought all the way back from the Ukraine by a teacher who came from there and who wanted a piece of home.
Then I’m going to tackle the small border under the kitchen window, it’s been largely neglected because it’s in full shade and little grows there so I need a rethink.
Have a lovely day 🌹

RosesandLilac Mon 29-Sept-25 06:54:11

Iris….not Irish for heaven’s sake!

Redcar Mon 29-Sept-25 07:00:54

Good morning everyone from a foggy and cool mid Essex. I hope the fog clears soon, I’m meeting a friend at Hyde Hall for coffee this morning!
DD1 and family called in yesterday, my son in law got up into the loft and got some more boxes down for me to sort out. The contents of one of the boxes are going straight to the tip!

grannygravy, enjoy Spain! sar I hope your DH recovers quickly from his cold and that he hasn’t shared his germs with you! Safe journeys to all those travelling today.

Thinking of those with medical appointments today and hoping that they are not too uncomfortable. I also hope that the results are reassuring for you.
Thinking in particular of md and the fgts.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 29-Sept-25 07:03:57

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

OH and I had a lovely time visiting our nearby NT property for the last time this season. We had a cream tea too! They will reopen next Easter.

I cooked a beef in beer casserole for dinner and a lemon surprise pudding.

Our cleaner should come this morning. I will do a Waitrose shop and also drop some things off at a Charity shop.

We have a big weekend coming up so I’ll try and get some of the cooking done in advance. My sister and her OH have been travelling around Europe for the last 5 weeks. We are their final stop before flying back to Australia. At the weekend my stepfather is coming over plus elder son and his family. Younger son and our daughter will meet up with them in London. Sister and her OH are spending a couple of days in London before coming to me. My sister has arranged this trip down to the very last detail!

Have a good day everyone. I hope MaryD’s medical appointments get off to a flying start and that the FGT2S are doing well.

Grandmabatty Mon 29-Sept-25 07:11:17

Marydoll I'll be thinking of you later.

EkwaNimitee Mon 29-Sept-25 07:28:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle. 4°C here at dawn.
Yesterday I kept busy with various little tidying and sorting jobs, today I have go early into town on my fourth attempt to get my necessary pills, apparently on special order for me now. Such a waste of my time and fuel.
Later, I should come to an end of my tidying and will lay into the vacuuming and laundry if I don't have to wait about in town too long.
Good luck with your appointment Marydoll, I hope all goes well and you get a good result.

Wishing you all a good day.

BlueSapphire Mon 29-Sept-25 07:31:17

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but feeling chilly.

Lovely weather at rugby yesterday but not such a good outcome! It was a game of two halves; a massive lead at half-time, only to have it all whittled away and end up with a draw. It was as though a different team came out at.half-time....

Yoga first thing, then coffee afterwards. Home for a bit of pottering then lunch and an afternoon of reading.

Wishing all a pleasant day, but especially thinking of Marydoll.

Grammaretto Mon 29-Sept-25 07:32:53

Good morning Mick and all from the Scottish Borders. Overcast.

My Danish family leave today but what a lot we've packed in over one weekend. The gt nephews enjoyed the double decker bus, the museum and fish and chips in sunny Edinburgh yesterday with their DP &DGM while I took DB & my friend to a beautiful garden in Inveresk which opened just for us. I had arranged it beforehand.
We had Indian takeaway for our main meal. This is a rarity in Denmark.

My cold is a lot better this morning but I could have done without it.

I hope the holidaymakers are having fine weather and that those with fragile health have a painfree day.

Wishing you all a happy day.

GrannyIvy Mon 29-Sept-25 07:33:53

Good morning from a foggy W Kent. The cleaner will arrive later if she can see the way! Otherwise a quiet day with just a picture that has been framed to pick up.
I wonder what it is that makes people want to sit in the same seat every time, it happens in all the groups I go to
Lovely day with DS and family yesterday, I was a bit worried afterwards that I had talked to much
Thinking of Marydoll, best wishes to all

Liberty Mon 29-Sept-25 07:51:49

Good morning from a slightly misty Suffolk where the sun is beginning to appear so hopefully will be a good drying day.

Our little dog is 10 today and DH started the habit of arranging for boxes of chocolate brownies to be sent to the DGC. They look forward to her birthday.

I didn’t get round to any bulb planting yesterday so that is a job for today before a busy and social week ahead.

Thinking of those who are unwell or caring for others and hope MD’s hospital appointment goes as well as possible.
