Good morning from a sunny Bristol.
I tried to get in for the last 5 hours, to no avail. Now Mick must have gone off on one of his morning jaunts.
Yesterday was quiet, I made a “ton” of marmalade as my stock were getting low and took it to church.
The podiatrist came at 1230 and did my sweet neighbour. It’s easier for him to come here, and cheaper. By the time she had done me, it was past 2 pm! So I had a late lunch and an even later nap.
Today, I’ve put some washing on the line and baked a traybake sponge, to be iced with lemon icing for tomorrow. I have also made GF flapjacks. The FAB cafe has invited a singer who will sing songs of the 60s I believe. The last time we had something like that, over 100 people came.
I’m going shopping this afternoon with my neighbour; I hope her friend doesn’t come.
Have a good day all.

Thanks for opening up gM I was getting confused there
Quiet day yesterday after the cleaner left DH nodded off so the afternoon slipped by
Today I have one of my oldest friends coming over to me, usually I go to her.
We have a lot to catch up on as we know each others families very well
Best wishes to all

Just tried again and there you were 👋. Thanks GM

Good morning all and it’s another beautiful day here in Essex.
I’ve walked the dog and been to our local Woodburner specialist. We have a lookalike gas type one but want to get rid and have a proper one put in. Hopefully before winter sets in.

Dh has an appointment with the diabetes nurse at midday, which will be an eye opener for him. He won’t be a happy bunny.

The wheelchair I ordered is now being returned as Dh says he definitely won’t use it. Oh well I tried!

I hope you all have a ‘good’ day. Take care 🌻

Good morning all from Edinburgh where it's currently 15°.
Yesterday was a lovely day in Edinburgh. Breakfast was amazing, we chatted lots then ds took me to The Ivy for coffee. I was back in time to pick up the boys.
At the moment, I'm in the Breast clinic waiting room. I've had eight mammograms taken and I'm waiting for an ultrasound. The place is incredibly busy with so many women. I might be back in time to pick up the boys from school. Have a good day all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Slow morning here, still marooned by the decorators who are doing a very fastidious job.
Back at school for me this afternoon, so I’ll walk there and back as I haven’t had a lot of exercise this week, apart from cutting the lawn yesterday.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning, lovely day here in s somerset

I have been gardening all morning, digging 3 blackcurrants out and have ordered plenty of bulbs etc for perennial spring displays, raised beds but only 8" tall. Making my life easier going forward ie no watering or pruning, or picking

Lunch prep soon, hm ready casserole plus the veg I have already washed, then my daily treat of dark chocolate

A walk after my afternoon delivery arrives, organic fruit/veg box and dairy stuff, I need to be in to get that into my fridge

Have a good day

Good morning everyone. So pleased we’re back! It’s a warm sunny morning here in mid Essex and I’ve had my usual walk, plus another one round to the post office. I’m now enjoying a coffee and have just booked my Covid booster - oh joy!
Yesterday I met a friend for coffee at our local RHS garden, good to see her and catch up with her news. Then a wander round the shop and one of the gardens in warm sunshine.
My godmother was taken into hospital yesterday morning as she is still suffering from the after effects of food poisoning and not eating or drinking. She is eating a little now and I hope she’ll be well enough to go home in a few days. I’ll see her tomorrow if she’s still in hospital.
grandmabatty that sounds like a very thorough examination, I hope the results show all is well.
gingster I hope your DH gets on ok with the diabetes nurse, and sorry he doesn’t see that at some time he may need the wheelchair.
Have the best day possible everyone, enjoy any sunshine you may have.

Good Morning all, due to the glitch Im not just reading but able to post as its still the morning! Normally by the time I've read everyone's posts I'm too late to do so myself, ( I do like to read before I post so that I'm up to speed as it were) and only join in after 12noon if I post a birthday greeting or similar.
Hope all goes well for you GrandmaBatty I had a recall after my 1st ever mammogram, which turned out ok, but I still remember well how I felt during that morning, 16 years later. xx

I’m late, thanks gMattie and Good Afternoon Michael,
Best Wishes Gbatty for the best outcome.
Yesterday was very busy on the Good Neighbours phone line, 11 medical lifts sorted eventually.
It’s glorious today, I must get out for a walk after essential chores are finished.

I’m late so good afternoon to all. I tried to post earlier and then had to go out. I’m just back from the garden centre had a good wander and a few purchases made! Quick sandwich have put chicken chasseur in the slow cooker and now out to put in my new plants whilst the sun is shinning. School pick up at 3.15 will come around quickly.

GMB fingers crossed all will be ok with your further tests.

Have a good afternoon everyone

Marydoll Tue 30-Sept-25 13:05:13

Good Morning all, I did think of starting the thread, so thanks GM.
I realised the GN website was down, but didn't have time to start the the thread once it was back online.

Thank you Borrheid, how on earth did you remember it was our 48th Wedding anniversary?
We are having a quiet day, I dont feel up to going out, but hopefully once things are more positive, we will celebrate.

GMB, I am praying for a positive result.❤️

We have just the wonderful received news this morning that a full match donor in from Australia has been found for DH's golfing partner.
He will hopefully receive his transplant in two weeks.
We are overjoyed.

I wish all all the best of days.

GrannySomerset Tue 30-Sept-25 13:07:56

Glad to see we are back on line; washing done and drying, beds sorted for next lot of guests, Wonderful Cleaner working her magic, so all in all a productive morning. This beautiful autumn weather is a joy to be stored up against what will come in a few weeks. A little walk this afternoon seems inevitable.

Grandmabatty Tue 30-Sept-25 13:38:25

Thanks folks. I had a biopsy done. The consultant is fairly sure I have benign calcifications but there are more than the last time so they decided to do a biopsy. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't fun! I'll get the results in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I'm going for a lie down. I have the nurses permission!

Marydoll Tue 30-Sept-25 13:45:59

GM, I had that. My breast was purple and very painful, by the time they finished and my boss insisted I return to school.
Fingers crossed. X

Borrheid55 Tue 30-Sept-25 13:48:52

Marydoll it’s my daughter's birthday on Thursday. She was born on the Sunday of your wedding weekend! Haven’t seen her since my sister’s funeral in 2014. We’ve been estranged since her wedding in 2006. 😢

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 30-Sept-25 14:45:09

Afternoon all from a beautiful blue sky West Oxfordshire.

OH has gone for a walk and I’m cooking. I’ve already made Yorkshire puddings and frozen them ready for this Sunday. I’m in the middle of making a family favourite - Delia’s chocolate bread and butter pudding. This will also be frozen and baked on Sunday.

Here is a photo of my latest picture in the downstairs loo!

I hope we’re all having a good day.
