Unfinished tasks…

Is anybody else prone to this?
For instance, no GN first thing so I started to read my Kindle book, that made me feel like a coffee so I went downstairs to make it, saw the washing machine had finished the overnight wash, hung it out as it looks like being a lovely day, saw the QVC parcel on the table which had arrived yesterday but I hadn’t opened, so I opened it, tried it on, decided it was too big and did it up again, to send back later, by this time the coffee was cold so I made another, as I was getting the milk out of the fridge I remembered I needed to take dog food out of the freezer, opening the drawers I decided it all needed a bit of a sort out/tidy up so I rearranged a few things, then the post arrived so I opened that and took the unwanted catalogues etc out to the recycling bin in the garage, reheated the milk for my coffee and brought it upstairs by which time GN was back, so I abandoned my book…etc etc etc and here I am a total of 1 1/2 hours later having achieved next to nothing
I can’t believe I am alone in being so easily distracted - am I?

One advantage of getting older and perhaps memory not so good is you can’t remember what you haven’t done

Tidying upstairs-I found a dress which I'd cut out and pinned and tacked .
Admittedly it's ubiquitous black so not a memorable colour /pattern .
But when did I begin the abandoned project ?
I have no idea .
I have no recollection of beginning it .

I don’t flit, but DH does, frequently darting off in the middle of a chore or even a conversation, to do something that comes into his head. I just complete each task before moving on to the next.. Chalk and cheese.

Reading this made me laugh out loud and I can surely relate! It also reminded me of a series of children's books written by Laura Numeroff. In one about a mouse who was given a cookie, one thing led to another. After the cookie, he needed a glass of milk, then that reminded him that be needed a straw, then a napkin ....and so on. If you have young grandchildren they would love the series of books. I don't know if they're popular in the UK like in my country.
