Reading this thread has put things into perspective.
I often try and make a resolution on the first of the month or on a Monday to just try and get something done - and most of all, to get it finished! - but life seems to get in the way and even that doesn't end - there's always something left to tidy away or still in the ironing basket.
This November holds many commitments for me, which, again, will keep me from carrying out my own plans. But they are very enjoyab!e.
For a start, I have a birthday, and concert tickets for two events immediately following it. One is an Eric Clapton tribute band, playing my favourite album ever, Unplugged. The other is for a concert my son is singing in - Bach's B minor Mass. His choir is top notch, most of them professional musicians (he is a music teacher).
On my birthday, fingers crossed, the completion of sale of my mother's house will go through. That has been dragging on since January, with a prospective buyer dropping out a few times till we gave up on them and put it in the hands of an Estate Agent.
And I am in one choir which will be singing 2 concerts on the 8th and 9th. Challenging stuff, one of which is a new work, commissioned specially, so quite modern. The other choir, a local church choir, will have a couple of Sunday services to sing and of course we are learning our Christmas programme for midnight mass and various Advent services.
As well as all that, I really would like to get all the windows cleaned and start making some Christmas decorations, or at least the Advent wreaths, especially as the first of advent falls in November.
And did I mention that my washing machine has broken down and this week I've been taking my washing to the launderette because the technician can't come till Monday?
See you all on 1 December to compare notes!
