Good morning from a dry, clear Bristol.
Like you, Mick, I’m doing household things today. I have already done two loads of washing which I’ll hang out as soon as I’m dressed.
I didn’t have a good day yesterday as I felt rotten after my vaccinations - sorry to have disappointed you for it showing you my upper arm (singular)!
In the afternoon, after having dozed and sat, I went back to church and undid my arrangement, chopped up the vegetables for piccalilli and salted them, ready for today.
Not much happening today, other than making the piccalilli.
I hope this week is kind to you all. My prayers for today’s appointment, MD. 💐*fgts*.

Good morning from Turkey. We leave here early evening and should be home around midnight.
DH is unwell with a probable chest infection and has pulled a muscle from coughing so much.
I will be glad when we are home.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and looks dry.
Yesterday I managed to do a bit more, apart from the ironing. In the morning I visited dd and the boys for a coffee. They were on good form. Dgs2 is always pleased to see me and gets louder and louder with excitement. Dgs1 is happy to see me but then does his own thing. I cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen and hoovered throughout. In the afternoon Tesco delivered. The driver was really interesting. He gave recipe tips and told me about his previous life as a roadie for Manic Street Preachers. I had steak and chips for dinner as a treat with fried onions (I can still smell them this morning) . Ds flew to Munich for a law conference. He kept us updated with photos and said that taking off at Edinburgh was hairy because of the wind. He arrived safely and the last photo was of a glass of German beer.
Today is early childcare day. I'll head to dds in a bit. I'll do an hour in the school library once I've dropped off the boys. Then home to take money out for the hedge removal and do the ironing. Later I'll pick up the boys again and deposit dgs1 at his football training. Dd will collect dgs2 later. Dinner might be spaghetti carbonara. Have a good day all.

Good morning from s somerset, dry today

The alliums are all planted and fully netted and there is not much more to do on the allotment now for winter, I have cavalo nero, cabbages and leeks to cut as I need them and I have one more bed to chop down, phacelia, for green manure. I will cover that and that will be it then the worms will do their work. I have sown mixed winter green manure in 3 beds and that has emerged strongly, I will not need to do anything with that until late winter

There is not much to do in the house today, just the en suite so I am hoping to get out on my bike later today, october is my last cycling month until spring

I do hope that MD is managing

Good morning from Malta where it is cloudy at present with the forecast predicting isolated showers and a high of 22°C.

Yesterday’s plans all had to be scrapped as DD3 asked me to have the boys so she and SiL could sleep. I was annoyed at first and said so but there is no way in the world I want to fall out with DD3 so I changed out of my ‘going to Mass’ outfit and went over to collect the boys.

They were both only too happy to come with me and we spent a pleasant couple of hours at the local play park before going back to my place where they were as good as gold all day.

I enjoyed their company and ended up apologizing to DD3 for seeming reluctant to have them even though I would never have dreamt of asking my mum to babysit my four children so we could sleep!😳

Nothing much happening today apart from having my nails done. I’m going to do them with a breast cancer awareness ribbon in honour of my two late sisters, cousin and sister in law who all succumbed to this awful disease.

I’m sorry you’ve been affected by your vaccination, grandMattie. I forgot to mention that I had both Covid and flu vaccinations on Saturday morning with no after effects. Perhaps my paracetamol regime has helped, taken every four to five hours for arthritis.

Your DD3 is fortunate to have you to call on, Bellasnana, especially as I believe you'd babysat to enable them to have a night out. A shame you had to miss Mass, too.

An early good morning from me in a still dark Northampton but sun is expected all day. Up early as the carpet fitters will be here at 8am, and I need to be showered and dressed by then. I will try to corral the cats in the kitchen so they don't get in the way.

Still windy yesterday but at least it was dry and I managed to get everything I needed at the shops. Mixed the tea bread when I got back and it baked while I was watching the rugby on tv.. A nail-biting match with a very close finish with a good result for my team.

Some washing to do this morning then once the new carpet is down I will need to replace everything back in the wardrobe and drawers.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s getting light, it’s dry and a bit cloudy, 10degrees.
I did very little yesterday as my back was very painful and I had to be careful how I moved. Managed a little ironing and that was all. I’m still stiff today but need to go to my godmother’s bungalow to find all the information I need to register her death, I’ve booked a taxi as don’t feel I can safely drive!

marydoll I hope your procedure goes well today and that the preparations for it weren’t too awful!
sar I hope you have a troublefree journey home this evening and that your DH’s cough improves soon. bluesapphire I hope you manage to corral the cats out of the way of the carpet fitters!
I had my flu jab on Saturday with no ill effects, fingers crossed it will be the same for the Covid jab tomorrow.

Good morning from south Glos, cold and dry here.
We walked the dogs on a 3 mile loop around quiet lanes yesterday morning, somewhere new for me but familiar to DH and bigger dog. It was very pleasant, chilly in the wind but warm in the sunshine in sheltered spots. I filled a bag with fallen cooking apples en route so we had baked apples for pudding yesterday!
The rest of the day was spent doing not a lot, very pleasant and peaceful.
Today is volunteering at the school garden then housework I guess 🙄

Good morning from a dark Cambridgeshire. It’s been a quietish weekend I struggle leaving summer behind and getting my autumn head in gear. DD2 and the little ones came for a roast dinner yesterday it was lovely to see them. Today DH is cycling with his friend and lunch out. I have a few errands to run and then hopefully will clean the conservatory windows inside. Picking up the 11 year old from dance classes later and dropping her home.

Thinking of Marydoll hoping prep wasn’t too awful and procedure goes well today with good results.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a still dark South Yorkshire where it seems we are to have a fine day. The washing machine is on.
I had a surprise visit from GS yesterday who was home for the weekend. I absolutely hate weekends and it cheered me up no end. The wind had calmed down enough for me to get a short walk in late afternoon.
I’ll go to the gym this morning as I haven’t been for a week, and then do more batch cooking for the freezer and make an appointment for the boiler to be serviced.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 12°C, with showers predicted,

After having very little sleep, I am sitting in bed, drinking disgusting dose 2,
I posed a riduculous question to DH:
If you were in the desert, dying of thirst and the only drink available was this revolting concoction, would you drink it to save your life?,

Yesterday was quite fruitful, despite having to fast, ( I was so hungry) I caught up on all my church paperwork and emailed it to the fundraising committee Chairperson for tomorrow's meeting,
She had spent hours working on it, but it needed a bit of tweaking, especially regarding safeguarding and insurance issues.
It was a job, I had been putting off for days.

There had been a problem at church, which I rectified, but asked why no-one had alerted me sooner,
A lovely parishioner said, they wouldn't have dared. My response was, neither would I, I am scared of myself.😁

I put a message on the parish chat, saying that I would be incommunicado for the next few days, ould not be responding to messages, because I was going into the Jubilee for a short holiday.
Despite this, last night I was bombarded with messages from the Sunday night sacristan.
Would she put the heating on, who was the reader, who was the Extra-ordinary Mininister etc,etc,
I sent her a picture of the Sacristy notice board with all the details, ( I just happened to have a photo on my phone 😂)
I was most annoyed, when she complained that she had a cold and was only there to open and lock up, she couldn't do much else. She does very little anyway.😡

I was inundated with messages wishing me well. 😪 I never thought that one through, not expecting anyone to reply,, especially not the loving thoughts posted 😪, for I am always cracking the whip,😉

GMB, Munich was on my bucket list, I first visited when I was a German student and I have always wanted to take DH, That bucket list has shrunk so much.

My only anxiety today, is the drive down the M8 and over the Erskine Bridge. There are no toilets anywhere!
I usually enjoy that drive, with views down the Clyde, not today!

Good Morning from Durham. It’s grey but very still here. Bedding to wash.
DGS2 was on form yesterday, but then was violently sick. It didn’t upset him, but he was sick at home later and went to bed early. He said he was very tired.
I’m meeting my friend for coffee this morning, home to do a few jobs, then my ‘flu jab later.

I’m wishing Marydoll all the very best for today, from the drive, the parking and the actual procedures and hope the wait for the results isn’t too long.
My thoughts lie with the FGT’s for whatever lies ahead for them.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It seems bright and beautiful at the moment.

Thinking of the FGT2S. MaryD too - I’ve had that procedure a couple of times and at least they tell you the results while you’re still there.

We had a good day yesterday with my stepfather and elder son and his family. My sister helped me in the kitchen and lunch was delicious. My stepfather is staying in a nearby pub and is coming for breakfast. My sister and brother in law will set off at 11 am on their long journey back to Australia. They will have a short stopover in Dubai. It was lovely to see them both but not sure when either I’ll go out there again or they’ll come here. It is her 70th in 2028 so who knows.

Once everyone has left my cleaner should be here and I’ve got a Waitrose shop. I will have two bedrooms to sort out too.
