Good morning Mick and all who follow- I hope you all had a better sleep 💤 than me! Flu jab arm aching, Mr PG snoring and a full moon messing with my equilibrium…🤬

We also have a busy day ahead so no chance for a cheeky shuteye this afternoon either! Factory outlet this morning to replenish HIS autumn collection 🫨, followed by cinema to see a derring do film 🥱 then a fish supper before settling down to GBBO 😋

Will pop in as and when to see your doings, may they all be pleasant or productive at least x

Good morning from south Glos, I’ve woken with a headache 🙄, no idea why.
Yesterday I was too puffed after the early dog walk to do my volunteering stint, very frustrating.
I got DH to lasso a very wayward rose and tie it to a hefty stake. For 8 years it’s been a shrub rose, a beautiful pale yellow with an amazing scent but this year it’s grown 12’ stems! I’ve never seen anything like it, they’re not suckers, it’s as healthy as can be but the rampant growth is astonishing!
Besides that little happened yesterday, housework and the usual stuff. I’m crocheting a cowl, my shoulders and neck ache so I’m hoping a little extra warmth will help.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from Malta where we expect a sunny day with a high of 24°C with quite a strong wind.

Yesterday I had my nails done ( very blurry photo due, I discovered later, to something sticky on the lens courtesy of the boys I suspect!) then went to do a bit of shopping. I wanted a shoe rack for by the front door and found just the thing but it was one which had to be assembled yourself! I’m not much good at do it yourself but managed and am quite pleased with it. It has a little cover over it so you don’t see the shoes and it looks tidy.

I’m meeting a Gransnet friend in Valletta this morning. She doesn’t post these days but we have been Facebook friends for years so it will be lovely to meet in person.

I rarely go to Valletta but will be going again on Saturday to meet our lovely grandMattie. Two Gransnetters in one week!😄

Hoping you have a good day.☀️

Good morning from a dark Black Country, where I have no idea what the weather is like, but seems dry.

Holiday washing all done yesterday, and almost dry as it was a lovely sunny day. Went into town for a few bits and bobs, and met my friend for coffee and chat.

Monthly Progressive walk today with one of my Thursday walking groups. We are walking 7 miles! Then over to Mums this afternoon to take her food shopping.

Wishing you all the best day possible, with thoughts of FGT's* Marydoll and anyone else struggling with health issues

grandMattie Tue 07-Oct-25 06:10:54

Good morning from a clear, dry Bristol.
Yesterday, I decided to dip the towel in which I dried the piccalilli vegetable vinegar/turmeric mixture, so washed it immediately. It is now waiting to be line dried today.
I got 12 jars of piccalilli, have washed them and now need to label them before the minimum 6 week maturing.
At Tesco, while having the obligatory time consuming coffee, my neighbour’s friend commissioned me to make a baby quilt for her grandson’s coming grandson! I’m thinking of making one with kites, and very colourful.
I was busy most of yesterday with housework and stuff, but still managed a nap. I made fgt’s SOAP dish for dinner and the rest to be frozen.
I had the lovely surprise of DS calling me. My offspring call m3 when they think about it - the interval can be a week or six, so it is always wonderful to chat with them…. He is delighted to be reunited with his chattels, finally sent over from India . As usual, bureaucracy from both countries…
Today, baking for the FAB cafe, more cooking for the freezer and planning the baby quilt. I’ll look at my stash and see what I’ve got which would be suitable.
May the appointments and procedures have been successful, both past and future. 💐 Thinking of you all but especially the fgts and md.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩❤️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° and damp. Light rain is forecast for the day. GrandMattie how lovely to talk to your son. Pantglas enjoy your day. It sounds busy but fun.
Yesterday was a busy morning. I did an hour in the school library and it badly needed it. The shelves were a mess. I changed the displays for Halloween inspired books. I ordered haunted house decals for the library windows which should arrive today. Back home, I tidied up the kitchen and had a lie down. Then I picked up the boys. We had a mishap taking dgs1 to football training. Dgs2 dropped his iPad and it's screen is cracked. I was cross because he had been told not to carry it. He was upset and dgs1 was cross with me. Apparently it was my fault. He tholes(puts up with) his wee brother most of the time, but when something upsets him, big brother swoops in. Ds updated us with his meal in Germany. Lots of photos. I removed my dressing last night and everything looks healthy.
Today will be pick up the boys, feed them breakfast then deliver to school/nursery. Afterwards I have to take out more money for the hedge work which hopefully will start at the end of the week. Dinner will be pie and beans. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a dry and mild Torbay with a gentle breeze.

Yesterday I attended my Move It or Lose It class for the last time for a few weeks as a trip to DH’s home in France is planned. When I offered my apologies for forthcoming absences, the lovely teacher told me how glad she was that I was enjoying good enough health now to undertake such ventures. This is true - six months ago it was a a very different story and I am thankful to be back to normal.

In the evening, I attended the first rehearsal for It’s A Wonderful Life, due to be staged in December. Mine is a minor rôle as a townsperson so I don’t need to attend rehearsals regularly for a few more weeks.

Have a lovely day with your GN visitor, Bellasnana.

Perhaps your rampant rose has responded to the hot summer weather we had, RosesandLilac?

So your neighbour's friend with whom you shop must be anticipating the arrival of a great, great grandson, grandMattie! Wow!

A good day is wished to you all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is dark but looks dry. Yesterday I went to the gym early but didn’t enjoy it so didn’t stay as long as usual. The rest of the day was mostly taken up with moving stuff back into my bedroom, making a large batch of chicken and mushroom pie filling. I had a walk after tea last night and the rising moon was absolutely huge. No camera, of course and the camera on my phone didn’t cut it.
This morning the decorator is coming back to paint the garage door and to put discuss a couple of issues I have with the bedroom. Then this afternoon volunteering at school.
Have the best day you can folks.

Your poor DGS2, Grandmabatty: a lesson learned the hard way.
Good to know you’re healing well. 🥰

Good morning from a still dark Lancashire. I've discovered crystal art! I shall whizz through the cleaning and then settle down with my new past-time.
Firework season has arrived so I'll be dreading the evenings now. My poor pets are terrified.

Good morning from a dry s somerset

I didn`t have to look, I knew it was a full moon by my restlessness in the night, a harvest moon I think

All dressed up and ready to cycle on my road bike. I went to pump up the tyres, they need to be rock hard but the front tyre was completely flat. I took the inner tube out and there was a big puncture. I put a new inner in and pumped it, got to 40 psi and there was a pop and that inner deflated, those wheels need to be at 90 psi. That one was a seam failure. I put my last inner in and that was a success, naturally I was twitchy riding out but all was well and I got back safely

It was a beautiful ride but that was the last one on those skinny wheels this year, there are too many thorns on the lanes, as well as loose gravel. I will have to go out on my bikes with the robust tyres

I do like to keep spares, I went onto the islabikes site and they are still maintaining spares, to support the islabikes that have been purchased. Very much sale prices and I purchased a load of inners at 99p each and grabbed some spare tyres also at a bargain price. I love that bike and want to keep it going as long as possible. I am not going to repair those punctures, 90 psi is very high and any weakness would blow

It was so nice and sunny yesterday but there is more leaking from my boiler, I am waiting for seals to be replaced and my plumber will be in touch soon. He is good, I have been with that firm for 15 years, meantime there is more water in the jug and I am going to turn my ch off, which will reduce pressure

I did the en suite and ran water in the unused bathroom to clean off stains from standing water. All is now nicely refreshed

Today, I am not going to procrastinate but I will start the day with a town walk. I need to check my ocado order for tomorrow, last minute changes. I put 32 onion sets in at home yesterday and covered another 1 sqm bed with cardboard. The crab apple tree is laden with big red crab apples, I am letting them fall and rot on the ground, food for birds and insects and the blueberry bushes are now a bright red

Today I am going to do some meal planning, I am finding that I am closer than ever to only 2 meals a day but will plan some soup to make a third

Have a good day

Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s dry and bright. Yesterday I visited my godmother’s bungalow to begin the process of sorting out her estate for probate. The other executor had sorted out some of the paperwork and I brought it home to continue the process. I have an appointment tomorrow to register the death,
I went by taxi and it was such a lovely drive with blue sky and sunshine.
I have my Covid jab this morning, and hope I won’t have too much discomfort afterwards.
I hope marydoll’ isn’t feeling too poorly this morning and that the procedure yesterday wasn’t too uncomfortable. (Doctor’s euphemism for painful !). I hope that mr fgt’s chemo isn’t too brutal and has good results.
bellasnana have a lovely meeting with your Gransnet friend this morning.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Sar53 Tue 07-Oct-25 07:33:36

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is chilly. We arrived home about midnight yesterday after a journey which seemed to consist of queues, queues and more queues.
DH has arranged to go to London today to meet up with some old work colleagues leaving me to do all the unpacking, shopping etc. I am not impressed.
We also have a committee meeting at the Yacht club this evening and I have lots to do to prepare for that.
Nevermind, we had a lovely holiday so I shouldn't be complaining.
I hope MD is recovering after yesterday.
Have a good day everyone, best wishes to all xx

Grannydaisy1 Tue 07-Oct-25 07:36:56

Best wishes to fgt and himself this afternoon.

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Off to U3A art group this morning, the theme is Autumn a good excuse to slosh some red and brown around. This afternoon my friend who is obsessed with GB News is coming for tea, I shall just sit back and see what this weeks topic is. Do all our personalities become exaggerated as we age.
Bellasnana enjoy your day out
Best wishes

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 07-Oct-25 07:38:03

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

My sister and bro in law are on the way back to Australia now. We had breakfast yesterday joined by my step father who was staying nearby. The house is now back to normal!

It is the WI coffee morning which am looking forward to.

My fairly new pc - not a year old - was playing up badly yesterday. It has a 2-year guarantee from John Lewis but thought we’d have a go at sorting out the problem. It is working again but if it fails once more I’ll ring their Technical Help Desk.

I hope all went well with MaryD’s procedure. Thinking of the FGT2S as well.

Have a good day. It feels autumnal but I heard birds singing earlier.

brook2704 Tue 07-Oct-25 07:41:38

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a grey start to the day with forecast rain later
Gorgeous nails Bellas, enjoy your catch up later today and how lovely to be meeting up on Saturday with gMattie too
I enjoyed a lovely lunch out with my pal yesterday, we were there for a few hours relaxing and catching up on each others news. Today I’ve a day of volunteering ahead, an online session this morning then off to the hospital later.
Pleased all seems ok grandmabatty hopefully good news soon 🤞
Thinking of the fgts today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Shropshire.Another fine day forecast.

We are enjoying these warm and sunny days.We missed most of the summer due to me being in hospital and then recovery so DH is really enjoying getting the gardens back to how he likes them. The garden is his happy place and it’s so good to see him out there enjoying himself plus the gardens are looking good!

Today is my exercise class so hoping I last the hour today🤞🏻

Really hope things went well for Marydoll yesterday🙏🏻and thoughts with FGT’s as Himself starts his new treatment🙏🏻

Blossoming good to hear you are getting out for your walks💪🏼you have inspired me to push myself which has really improved my strength and recovery.Thank you💐

Wishing everyone a good day🦩🌻

Gingster Tue 07-Oct-25 07:49:27

Good morning all and it’s a grey start to the day. Yesterday was again beautiful. Very warm and sunny.

A restless night here too. Had a busy day with financial people that turned my brain to mush 🤯. Along with the full moon .

Today I’ll pop into town, Bank and Specsavers. I have another cataract op next week but my eye that was done last month is troublesome. I’m having white swirling light coming in at the side , occassionally. 👁️.

This afternoon I have Bridge Club.

I hope all the procedures went well yesterday and lots of love to FGT’s and Marydoll. 🙏.

Take care 🌻

ginny Tue 07-Oct-25 07:55:00

Good morning from N. Bucks. Dry and dull at the moment.
Some cakes to make this morning . Lunch with two longtime friends , sadly the third cannot make it as medications for her Parkinson’s has been changed and does not agree with her.
Looking forward to choir this evening, always a couple of hours of fun.
Thinking of those with troubles or illness and a good day wished for all.

Georgesgran Tue 07-Oct-25 07:57:25

Good Morning from a very grey, overcast Durham. I had both the Covid and ‘flu jabs yesterday, haven’t slept much and the Covid site is sore.
I’m taking an item back to Newcastle John Lewis and meeting a friend for coffee afterwards. Before I go, I need to blow up my tyres, as the warning light is on. I’ll drop the rest of DD2m’s laundry off on my way home.

I hope Marydoll’s day wasn’t too bad and there is some news soon. Thinking of the FGTs as Himself undertakes more chemo.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from rainy South Lanarkshire.

I thought I’d dreamt that people were having a conversation under my bedroom window about 3am but DH confirmed that he had also heard them. Odd.

I’m in awe of you karma, so much activity in one day.

Enjoy your time with your Granspal Bella.

I’ll be doing my shift in the charity shop today and with a bit of luck DH will have finished the work in the downstairs loo by the time I get home. He does like to do things himself but my goodness, these days everything seems to take an age.

Thinking of MD and the FGTs and everyone else with mountains to climb.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 07-Oct-25 08:15:34

Good morning, I have nothing planned today.

This evening I am off to a rather nice restaurant with my hosts, my thank you to them for having me to stay.

I fly home tomorrow evening.

Thinking of Marydoll and FGT2’s himself 🌸

Good morning from a dullish Suffolk after a glorious day yesterday.

Today is the 80th birthday of one of my group of school friends the other 4 of us reach this milestone next year. We have been friends since we started grammar school in 1957 and have weekends together 2 or 3 times a year as well as regular phone calls and WhatsApp messages.

We are meeting up in London early next month and will plan our special celebration for next year.

Thinking of MD and FGT and hoping they and others having difficult times find comfort in the love and support of family and friends.
