Tesco online .... or another?

I use Sainsbury's home delivery, but it is far from really good. Lots if items I know appear on shelves in their stories are not available on line, no idea why
Also, items bought individually, say baking potatoes or Bramley apples, there is no way of asking for small, medium or large size only, etc.

I have just seen this identical post on Mumsnet... Word for word (substitute GN for MN) is this a shopping survey??

I have used Asda online delivery for years and found them really good. Like Tesco though they have recently started to sell some household items differently

Same here Franbern but it's a pain when your email comes in the morning and there are missing items. It's also a nuisance when you pick your items but can't tick anything to request no replacement until you have actually placed the order.

I like Ocado best.
It has better search facilities I think and lots of things to filter with.
You can also sort price wise by weight (say) so if you can have 500gms for £3.82 or 295g for £2.05 or 475g for £3.70 you will know which is cheaper per gram.

I really don’t think there’s much between them, though I find myself using Morrisons and Ocado more often than the others.
This is purely because they still deliver in (returnable/refundable) poly bags rather than those big plastic trays, which means I can deal with the bags myself and don’t have to ask the delivery person into my house with his/her wet boots. To be fair they are always willing but even so…
You need to watch the minimum delivery requirement too. Ocado have (I think) put up their minimum spend to £75 if you are using a (paid for) smart pass, though it is still £40 if you pay for deliveries.

We started using Sainsburys during lockdown as my DH was classed as vulnerable after major surgery. It was the only one, out of the big supermarkets, who enabled priority deliveries for us. Same for the Xmas delivery spots as we have now placed a small order and can add to it whenever.

Sainsbury’s denied us priority deliveries during Covid, so I used to visit Tesco once a week!
I’ve never set foot in Sainsbury’s since and prefer Tesco, even though it’s a bit further away.

I too have used Sainsbury's since lockdown and can't really fault it. True somethings are not available or are subbed but you don't have to accept the subs or, indeed, anything you've ordered when it arrives at yiur door.

I can tick a box as I order to say whether a sub might be acceptable so I don't understand the post by Moonwatcher.

I too use Tesco Luckygirl I think all supermarkets are going the same way so I order other items elsewhere - usually Amazon.

A shout out for the delivery drivers who are always cheerful, helpful and courteous, come rain or shine.

I use Tesco as I like their delivery saver package, I use the off peak one which is after 3 pm (unlimited delivery )in the afternoon and suits us .I have noticed that some items are only available via Marketplace but they are not things I would worry about and are usually available on other selling platforms( amazon) I did recently buy a toilet brush and earlier in the year a toaster and kettle. So some items are available via the normal delivery. Same as not everything is available in store these days.

I have used Sainsbury’s for many years now and am more than happy.
As Kitty said you get an email telling you of substitutions and you just tell the driver you don’t want them.
This does not happen often at all and is usually just a different size.
You always benefit price wise if this happens.
The drivers are very good, carry it through to the kitchen and help unpack.
I am happy.

I'm a Waitrose on line shopper, very unusual they don't have the product, good service from the Delivery driver who helps unpack.
However they don't do Balloons or printer paper.

We have had Tesco from the start of the pandemic. They have been brilliant. We've rarely had a substitution. The drivers are friendly and helpful. It's a shame if things are changing.

Tesco now sell postage stamps as part of an online delivery; but you can’t buy them at the counter in shops. The assistant had no idea why .

I had some printer paper delivered today at no extra charge, so it's not just your local site.

I am so pleased that Ocado and M&S share because I only buy M&S jars of coffee. I seek out offers, and am usually glad because to date, all the orders have arrived.

I use Morrisons the most and have started using Sainsbury's for a change. I have done well with the Nectar points.

Sainsbury's staff do not carry my groceries to the kitchen so now I place most items on a single sheet and pull it through as I do not have carpets or rugs.

I stopped driving in July so add Amazon and I need never leave the house!

In my Tesco you can buy them from the customer services counter (along with cigarettes and scratch cards) and they will order a taxi for you if you need one.

I couldn't find a box to tick as I ordered things. That's why I said that. I will have another look perhaps I've missed something. x

I've found that with Tesco too,I make my own greetings cards and used to get envelopes with my order, but they still sell them in the store.
