Good morning from a bright Suffolk after the strong winds and very heavy rain of yesterday. The storm was not as bad as predicted for our part of East Anglia and we even had some sun at the end of the day.

I’m off to Norwich to meet another friend for lunch at a different venue from where I went last Friday. Today we are meeting at the Assembly House, an elegant 18th century building in the centre of the city. DH and I have often eaten here if we’ve been going to the theatre which is almost next door. They also do splendid afternoon teas.

Hope all have the best day possible whatever difficulties some are facing.

Good morning from a grey and windy NE. It was noisy overnight and I did wonder whether it was sensible to put the wheelie bin out.
Spent all day yesterday washing and ironing so spent the evening in front of TV. I am enjoying celebrity Traitors.
Today will be spent preparing my clothes for tomorrow, it is my cousin's funeral in Yorkshire and we will have an early start.
Have a good day.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny, blue sky but very chilly South Yorkshire. Yesterday ended better than it began until late evening when I got a message to say that one of DH’s brothers in Wales had died. He was injured in a bad fall and died of his injuries. I woke up in the middle of the night wondering if I had dreamed it, but no, so this morning I will have a couple of very sad phone calls to make. DH would have been devastated.
With that out of the way I will drive over to have lunch with my best friend of 43 years standing who is recovering very well from a hip replacement. We don’t see each other that often these days as she is very involved with her church, so we will have a lot of catching up to do.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning and it’s chilly but calmer here in Essex.

Lots of phone calls and messages yesterday regarding my eye, which passed the time. Its feeling ok so I might pop up to the bank today. We really must sort out ‘online banking’ . Dh has always resisted.

FGT how lovely to have a good day with your man.
Bellasnanna tears in my eyes too regarding that dear little dog.
Oh Karma that’s awful for you. Thank goodness you have your stove .

I hope you all find some joy in your day. 🍂

I can tell your anxiety levels are rising dragonfly on your own rollercoaster ride. It doesn’t take much does it? x

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is only 2°C.
Once again pain and that troublesome cough are responsible for little sleep.

Yesterday, DH felt of sorts, (very unusual) so I did the bulk of the childcare.
Firstly we made fruit salad, where BabyDoll insisted on her own dish, then we made coconut tartlets. The kitchen floor and living room carpet were covered in dessicated coconut. 😱.
She was great company, laughing and singing some unintelligible nonsense. The only word I recognised was, Ga, Ga, I suspect it may have been about me.🤣

It was then time for the scooter trip. Babydolk was so excited, when she saw her new Spiderman helmet. I had purchased elbow pads etc, but DS fortunately had a set in his car,
How simple can it be to put these on a child? I had them on upside down and sideways. It was Baby, who eventually fixed them.🤣
She realised that she did not need to scoot, you just put both feet on the scooter and a doting grandmother will push you.
I thought my back would break.
Help from papa was refused, because he had upset her earlier. (The neck of her sweatshirt was too tight and he had hurt her!)
Like the Mafia, it will be a lifelong grudge. 😉

Suddenly, she jumped off the scooter, crouched down at the fence and started talking away. Hello Doggie!. I hadn't noticed this beautiful, small dog in the field,
The owner brought the dog to our side of the fence and BabyD took the off like a bat out of hell. She was only brave, when there is a fence between them.🤣

Later we started the seafood risotto, but she abandoned it, because the onions were making her cry. (it had never occurred to me.) I am a failure as a gran.
She disappeared, looking for Papa, all grudges forgotten.

She really heeded a nap, she was exhausted she wasn't the only one. However, it wasn't happening, a walk to look for leaves was suggested. Papa got her dressed, complete with her large stick, while I went upstairs to get ready.
I came back down, to find her sprawled out, still in her wellies,
fast asleep!

Grabbing the opportunity, I disappeared into the conservatory, with a cuppa, chocolate and a hot water bottle for my back
I had just got to the exciting part of my Turkish drama, when Dollie's gran from next door appeared. Then BabyD woke up.
There is no rest for the wicked. 🤣

I hope you all have a lovely day. Good luck with medical appointments and any travel plans.
I need to pop into church, after Sainsbury's.
The high school children are coming to to Mass at 9am, it is their school feast day. Consequently 10am Mass will be later, (P.P forgot to alert us.)
The sacristan's wife has a heart procedure this morning, so I will have to clear up after Mass.

Prayers for all, who are struggling. Hoping Mr *Dragonfly is feeling a wee bit better today. 💐

Good morning from a much brighter Birmingham, where we stayed overnight in a Hotel.

Sunny Afternoon was very good, telling the story of The Kinks early days. Plus of course the fab songs.

Down to breakfast shortly, (I will just have coffee),then back home on the train, as meeting Aunt and cousin for lunch over near Wolverhampton with Mum. So quick change and drive over!

Wishing you all the best day possible

Gingster we both bank on line (I have for more than 20 years now) but I do need to go into the bank today. I have made an appointment for 9:30am. It’s below us. When I went in to make the appointment earlier in the week I joked I could just have a fireman’s pole fitted and slide down in my pyjamas!

A toddler on strike!.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Very still out.
I have my shift at the store this morning.

There are plans afoot to restart the Thursday night ceilidh dancing despite our
teacher's retirement.

What a good day for you FGT may you have plenty more.

Take it easy Dragonfly it's still early days for DH. You'll both enjoy seeing your DS.

A good night sleep makes such a difference doesn't it Grandmabatty
Mine was fits and starts so I'll need a nap 😴

I hope everyone has a good day.

Thank you Marydoll for my GM chuckle today!

Good morning from Shropshire.Another day of sunshine and showers forecast.

A quiet day again today before life gets hectic for a couple of weeks with not many quiet days so will make the most of today.

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
New carpet fitted in spare bedroom yesterday. Fitted quickly and the chaps put the furniture back in for me. The wallpaper is a pale blue stripe and the carpet looks greyer than expected, the blue in it not showing up very much, but I’ll brighten it up with a rug.

In the evening to a touring ballet company which was marvellous. A sell out too and as a late booker, I had to sit near the back which I hate. However I had my lovely mother of pearl opera glasses, handed down by my late DH’s great aunt, which helped a lot.

Off to art group soon and will then visit a music colleague in hospital. I’d better check if she’s still there.
Thoughts to dragonfly, no sign of Ekwanimitee?🌺

Blossoming Fri 24-Oct-25 08:58:27

Good morning from a very rainy Lancashire. I’m not sure what we will be doing today. Babydoll sure keeps you on your toes Marydoll, hope you can chill a little today. Hope your husband has a better day today Dragonfly.
Wishing everyone a good day whatever you’re doing ♥️

Grammaretto Fri 24-Oct-25 09:06:45

Good morning all. Sunny and not too cold in Glasgow this morning.

I slept like a log last night and feel so refreshed this morning. First dose of pain relief taken, I am ready to face the day. DD1 is laid low with whatever this virus is that’s doing the rounds at the moment. It’s on a repeat cycle of feeling fully recovered to returning a couple of weeks or so later. A milder dose this time round. Not welcome at mine temporarily!🤧

((((Hugs)))) you will be in need of too Dragonfly look after yourself too.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning \afternoon!
What a day, DH has misplaced a file on the computer & is making his annoyance known to myself & The Dog! I blamed The Dog but I know that it was actually me! I shall play the innocent as he can be a bit stressy.
Hope all you GNetter's are having a sunnier day than here, domestically, that is. 😶
