Never post on this thread, but often read - no-one should be telling others what to say, surely - these posts are so individual, and written from the heart.

Nobody has told anyone what they can and cannot post.

After such kind and welcome comments, thank you and here goes!
CARPE DIEM! 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Hooray! Your daily sign off is always a reminder to me to try and make the best of the day no matter how I am feeling.

Good morning from a cloudy East Midlands.

DH was taken back into ICU yesterday with various complications so I am quite worried. I do have my lovely son here though which is a joy.

I love your cheery messages GrandMattie so I am pleased you are carrying on.
As usual wishing everyone the best day possible.

GM 🥰

Grandmabatty Sat 25-Oct-25 07:34:46

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° but feels much colder. GrandMattie I'm quite sure RosieandherMaw didn't mean a personal attack on your lovely way of signing off. There were not many who agreed with it
anyway. Please don't stop. It's part of you.
Karma a safe journey to you. Ashcombe are you heading back homeward? Susan I hope the visit is better than you fear. ❤️
Yesterday was a quiet day again. I got all of the washing done and tidied up. I even started on the dining room by throwing out a dead plant. I decided to have a takeaway curry from my favourite place for dinner. It was delicious. I no longer have the same capacity, so there's enough for tonight and also some to freeze. I had various deliveries which I had forgotten about - stuff for the boys.
Today I'll go to Aldi for food. I'll get the whites washed and the rest of the housework done too.
A few weeks ago, when I was going to Edinburgh, my foot slipped getting on the train and my leg went down between the train and the platform. I felt very foolish and didn't say much about it as it bruised and I thought nothing more about it. Except it isn't getting better. There's a lump across my shinbone. It isn't exactly painful but I can feel it, if that makes sense? So I think I'll have to see about it next week. Oh dear, I loathe going to the doctor's.
Enough of my moans! Carpe diem and have a good day.

Good morning, just lost my post !
Wishing all a good day.
Yes Grandmattie Carpe Diem

kittylester Sat 25-Oct-25 07:40:37

karma, who exactly is 'misery guts'?

RosieandherMaw Sat 25-Oct-25 07:43:17

karmalady

oh dear, I have found that carpe diem post and am in that same category of wishing everyone a good day. I do wish everyone a good day, every day.

So I repeat, have a good day and I hope misery guts has a good day too. I wish you well and hope you can see joy in life

What a sour note you have injected.
I am not a “miseryguts* and should have thought it obvious that it was meant as a lighthearted observation - and not on this thread BTW so certainly not aimed at anybody in particular unlike the miseryguts barb.
I have much joy in my life, albeit on a nippy morning, newly serviced CH and a new thermostat fitted on Thursday at no cost playing their part, along with a warm furry back snuggled up beside me.
I was prepared to don my sackcloth and ashes but nothing energises quite a gratuitous attack, so I shall wrap up warm in one of my new Seasalt sweaters, purchased with my WFA (thank you, Rachel from Accounts) but probably have a little flounce too as the GM thread has been quite spoiled for me.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s getting light, dry and 10 degrees outside. Not sure what today’s forecast is.

I think it’s time to change to the 10.5 tog duvet, so will do that today. DD2 and family are out today and DD1 is busy taking the granddaughters to various classes, so I won’t see anyone. Half term next week, I am looking after DD1’s dog one day,not sure which day yet.

Clocks go back tonight, so lighter mornings for a few weeks, but I’m not looking forward to it getting dark earlier.

Best wishes to those who are poorly or anxious. I hope today is better for you.

Enjoy Saturday if you can!

Good morning from a dry W Kent.
Whatever was said about ending posts seems to have passed me by but gM flowers.
dragonfly so sorry to read your news
Trip out this morning to by a Cook curry, I have just discovered that a curry paste I have used for some years is not gluten free, so a rethink required.
Otherwise I need to get some washing going. Quiet afternoon so might watch a film
Best wishes to you all

Good morning, very pink here! Had a lovely facial yesterday so will have a lovely shower this morning with my new posh shower gel. Then I will attempt to get the million things done which I should... have a lovely day everyone!

Usedtobeblonde Sat 25-Oct-25 07:51:11

Good morning all.
I read although not posting but just wanted to tell Grandmabatty that my friend did a similar thing with her leg and ended up having being referred to the Orthopaedic dept, the lump was called Morel Lavellee.
She is waiting for a scan.
Please see your GP.

brook2704 Sat 25-Oct-25 07:55:42

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks dry
So sorry to hear about your DHs setback dragonfly , hope things improve soon
After a busy day week with visitors and being out and about I’m hoping for a more restful weekend and catching up on quite a few jobs.
Thank you for the lovely picture Vix
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 25-Oct-25 07:59:08

A quick morning all from West Oxfordshire where it feels a bit chilly.

We are taking our granddaughter to see The Wizard of Oz later and maybe a snack lunch.

Have a good day, whatever you’re doing.

Grandmabatty Sat 25-Oct-25 08:01:31

UTBB oh dear. I better see the doctor then.

cornergran Sat 25-Oct-25 08:07:48

Morning Mick, morning All from a bright corner of Somerset.

An hour sorting garden lighting this morning before lunch out at our favourite small garden centre. Nothing else on the agenda here.

I was sorry to read your news dragonfly, thinking of you today.

Best wishes to all.

Grandmabatty Sat 25-Oct-25 08:12:08

I'm sorry to read the news about your dh, dragonfly. I hope he's ok soon

cornergran Sat 25-Oct-25 08:13:48

Just remembered grandmab. A large, soft lump on my arm after a painful encounter with a door handle was diagnosed at the surgery as bursitis. It went on its own, eventually. Best to get your leg checked to put your mind at rest

Gingster Sat 25-Oct-25 08:14:48

Good morning all.
I find ‘spikey’ comments, best ignored. They soon go away.

It’s jolly chilly here in Essex , so after a trip into town courtesy of ds1 , I’ll be hunkering down again.
Dh is going to footie this afternoon so I might watch a film.

Dragonfly I hope your Dh improves. 🙏
Grandmabatty best to get that leg looked at.
Safe travels for those on the move.

Enjoy the day, whatever it brings. 🍂

Jaxjacky Sat 25-Oct-25 08:16:11

Morning from a brightening, dry S Hants.
Sorry to hear that dragonfly, good your son is with you 💐
Enjoy your breakfast Mick a cooked one is a rare holiday treat for us.
Yesterday was stretch class then a fruitless journey to get two tyres on my car, my fault, I should’ve rung first, Monday it is.
Mr J is in a bowls match later, I’ll be donning the metaphorical pinny, washing and a curry to make. I expect my weekly paper will fill the gaps.
FGT

Good morning everyone from a damp Northampton, but sunny spells expected later. It feels really chilly this morning and I noticed that the CH had kicked in overnight.

Felt more satisfied with dance classes yesterday - one of our ballet routines has me as a leader, and if I get it wrong everyone gets it wrong! But all went better yesterday, and we still have nearly 4 weeks till our performance. I shall never feel the same about 'Pianoman' (the music for our dance) again!

Out to a rugby match yesterday evening - another very entertaining match again which finished in a win for Northampton Saints. Felt cold though, and I was glad when I found gloves in my coat pocket. And I must admit to having winewine which also helped to warm me up....

Out to the cinema this afternoon, meeting a friend, and watching National Theatre live; Imelda Staunton and her daughter in Shaw's 'Mrs Warren's Profession'.

Hoping the day goes as well as it can for all.

Grammaretto Sat 25-Oct-25 08:18:39

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
My Friday dinner party was lovely, though I drank too much 🍷 at least more than I'm used to.
We talked about my drafted planning refusal. Several friends think I should appeal.

Apple pressing after community café and a concert tonight.

Grammaretto Sat 25-Oct-25 08:20:45

Well that's no way to sign off! I meant to wish everyone a happy day and an extra hour's sleep!

*dratted not drafted grr
