Good morning from an as yet dry Bristol. The sunshine and squalls of yesterday were something else…
Very bad start to the day. First I slept abominably. Then I was idly looking through GN posts and found, to my sorrow, that my cheery daily farewell puts people’s teeth on edge. I shall try to reduce my use of it.
Today, church coffee and chat then lunch with DD. I’m so tired and not feeling very sociable that I probably won’t enjoy it.
I shall wish you a reasonable day. 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.

I am awake far too early. We are going to visit mum today and I feel quite anxious after the last visit.DD2 and little family will meet us there.

Well I for one like your cheery daily farewell grandMattie and hope you feel able to post it again tomorrow.I wish you and all good morningers the best day possible and hope you enjoy lunch with your daughter more than you are anticipating.

It gives me a sense of security and its uplifting. You and Mick set the day off well. There's a lot to be said for quiet persistent effort.

loopyloo Sat 25-Oct-25 05:54:07

Of course flamingos are permitted.
And guess what. Seize the day.

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 28°C.

I’m very upset on your behalf grandMattie. There is absolutely no need for your stop your daily greeting which I’m sure most of us appreciate. We all need to Carpe diem! The sands of time wait for none of us.

We went out yesterday as I suddenly decided I wanted to buy a dehumidifier! I found one which is much less cumbersome than the old ones we used to have and it will help in winter as we have very high humidity here.

Not sure what we shall do today but it’s such lovely weather we definitely need to make the most of it,

Hoping your DH is feeling a bit better today dragonfly and that Himself continues to feel well enough to enjoy some pleasant time with FGT and family.🙏🏻

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

Good morning all from a cold start today here on the east coast of Fife , not that I’m up but I feel a chill in my bedroom . I’ve popped the heating up from the hive on my ipad I’ll probably drop off again I notice tea towels soaking in bleach overnight from my spy camera I do love it I can keep an eye on my wandering sister.

Enjoy today keep safe and warm 💐💐

A very early good morning (for me) from a chilly Black Country, where I have no idea what the weather is doing.

Great get together for lunch with Aunt, Cousin, Brother and SIL and Mum. As usual Mum had Fish n Chips smile

Today I need to go over to Mums to take her for her Flu jab, as it is too far for her to walk now, and she doesn't remember where her Doctors Surgery is.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a damp hillside in south Glos, sunshine and showers summed up yesterday, blooming chilly too.
I love your posts grandMattie, why on earth would someone object to your cheery farewells? Perhaps I should end with 🥀 instead of 🌹?
I had a lovely morning at art group yesterday, there are 10 of us now, lots of tea and chatting. I started a drawing, I’m not sure whether it will be graphite or coloured pencil at the moment.
I’m hoping to get the washing on the line today, it’s supposed to be dry and breezy here and I do love line-dried laundry.
We’ll take the dogs out early, there’s a pheasant shoot locally today and bigger dog will be very unhappy, so I have set up her ‘den’ under my work table so she can hide away, poor dog.
I need to do some housework too, how I wish I had a house fairy!
Hugs to anyone who could do with one 🤗🌹 or 🥀

Good morning from dry and still South Lanarkshire.

Carpe Diem grandMattie, please carry with your usual farewell.

We had an enjoyable evening with our friends last night. Roulette table was set up in their games room, I lost my shirt, just as well we weren’t playing for real money.

I think we’re popping over to DD’s at some point today, hoping to see all of the children but it’s increasingly difficult as they’re rarely all at home at the same time nowadays.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grannydaisy1 Sat 25-Oct-25 06:45:40

Please do not change your cheery farewell. I love reading your post

GrannyGravy13 Sat 25-Oct-25 06:46:06

Good morning from still dark S E Essex.

I must go to local shops this morning to stock up on snacks I have DS4’s two children here from later today until either late Monday evening or early Tuesday morning. At GD 8 and GS 6 yrs they are good, usually play together nicely, fingers crossed 🤞

Have missed the carpe diem stuff

(((Hugs))) to all 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.

All we have on the agenda today is a pedicure for me at the other end of the high street.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a chilly but dry Nogent le Bernard following a perfect autumnal day yesterday with beautiful blue skies to set off the Autumn tints.

What an odd thing for anyone to criticise, grandMattie; it’s part of your philosophy and well worth sharing. Please try to forget it and have a good day - DH generally reckons that social events he doesn’t expect to enjoy often turn out better than expected.

Today we shall drive the two cats to their holiday quarters also known as the “Auberdog” where both dogs and cats are accommodated. Cue for some yowling in the car.

Wishing everyone a good weekend, especially those in pain or with loved ones in hospital. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

GrannyGravy13 Sat 25-Oct-25 06:50:55

Apologies grandMattie I didn’t realise what were referring to.

I think it was a general comment, not aimed specifically at you.

karmalady Sat 25-Oct-25 06:56:20

Good morning from s somerset, I am looking forward to a sunny bright day today

It will be the tail wagging the dog today, I need to get heat into my house, it is in cooling phase now and that means the building fabric, is cooling down. I have 3 free hours of electricity at mid-day so I will be using that time to add heat. I would much rather be at the allotment but needs must at the moment

The car is packed with things to give to dd, I did ask her first. It is ready for the road, tyres checked yesterday at home, I have a useful electric pump and the car is full of petrol. I don`t like the journey to Wales, two horrible motorways but I will be doing all the driving in the light

Pottering for me today, just gentle stuff

Have a good day

GrandmaC47 Sat 25-Oct-25 06:57:21

Grandmattie, please don’t stop.

Good morning everyone from Cambridgeshire. It looks to be a chilly day with a mixture of weather here.

Yesterday I met a friend of some 50 years for lunch in a little country pub. It was very busy and noisy. No music but happy people chatting. After eating we crept to a quiet corner in front of a cosy fire. Is it just me but I find it difficult to hear and communicate in noisy places. Lovely to see places buzzing and busy again though 😂

Today I need to go along to the carpet shop and choose the new carpet for our bedroom. DH has a bowls lesson so I will try and bring samples back home. The bedroom is almost finished just the door to have a second coat.

Continue signing off GM in your normal way and enjoy your lunch with your DD 🦩

*FGT’s ❤️

Wishing everyone the best day good health and happiness to all

Good Morning from Durham. It’s still dark, but the sky is clear with many stars visible.
DGS2 is coming this afternoon, as his Daddy is at football and Mummy is too ill to look after him. Covid has absolutely floored her. I’ll play it by ear, but he could sleepover, if he wants to. First, off to Tesco to top up with his favourites.
Ignore the critics gM

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a dark and windy NE.
DD and SIL will be here shortly as we are driving to Yorkshire for my cousin's funeral.
Have a good weekend.
