Good Morning Everyone,
I have woken to a dark and wet morning here in Brackley .
My digital phone is all set up , have made some calls .
The usual routine with a bus trip to Bicester , say hello to those I know etc.
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Oh karma what a beautiful gansey. You have such great patience and talent! I love the colour, a very rich plum/aubergine. Perfect for winter wearing. Your attention to detail is wonderful. Your son in law will be proud to wear it I’m sure - as it’s made with love too.

Good morning from sunny East Lothian. I think showers are forecast but it’s a bit warmer than it was at the weekend.

DH is going to continue painting the skirting board in preparation for new flooring being laid in the new year. There is fitted carpet which will be removed by the flooring people but he is cutting the edge to make painting easier. Very messy to live with but we have only a few more days here before we go back south.

DD and I are planning to go for coffee at a garden centre/nursery that we haven’t been to before and we should have a good natter.

Happy Anniversary to Ashcombe and Olddudders 🥂

Hope the move goes well Aldom.

Dragonfly, thinking of you and hope to hear of further improvement for your DH 💐

I’m glad to hear you have your phone sorted Mick.

Best wishes to all.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast. DS DD from the south and DGD (Yorkshire) were here from Sunday as a late get together for DS 50th. On Monday I fulfilled my promise to an old friend in Cheshire to pick him up from hospital after op’, sedation and stay with him overnight. He was ok and I came back the following day. DD still here but has sprained her back getting a loudspeaker out of her car.

It was nice to have a quiet night in with DD last night. I have my opera co rehearsal tonight and she is out with friends.
Congratulations Ashcombe, thoughts to dragonfly, and all the best for the move Aldom🌺

Good morning and I’m late to the party.
My two old school pals are coming for lunch and I’ve been a busy bee.
We were supposed to be going to an art exhibition in London. One of the gds had a few paintings on show. I didn’t think I could leave Dh all day and Dd wasn’t available to sit in with him.
So they said they would come to me instead. One of them lives in Wimbledon, so a long trek for her.♥️.

I hope you all have a good day .☔️
Prayers for the people in Jamaica 🇯🇲.🙏

Thank you all for your heartwarming anniversary messages which are much appreciated by both of us. I've added a picture of us taken on the day and another taken this summer so you can see how 100 years have taken their toll......!

Ashcombe Wed 29-Oct-25 12:39:59

Oh dear! That should say 10 but olddudders says 100 is more accurate!!

Aldom Wed 29-Oct-25 13:04:28

Happy anniversary *Ash and Od*wine

Scandalously late to the party today but have spent most of the morning on the phone with an old friend with very worrying family problems. All I can usefully do is listen but it is so sad that at 87 she is dealing with such alarming issues. Makes me very grateful not to be in her position.

MRI scan shows some deterioration but muscle damage so thankfully no operation but the attentions of our wonderful local physio - in other words, managing this painful hip is within my control. How lucky am I? I am so relieved and of course this morning nothing is hurting, for a change, so a refuelling trip to the supermarket comes next.

Crocus5 if you put Help Calm Me Moving House Gransnet into Google search, the forum comes up.
It's a wonderful thread, started by Karamalady, but under a different user name.
