Just saw my first store Christmas advert. The Grinch at Asda.
Anyone seen any others yet?

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Nov-25 17:00:22

Oh yes, so far I have seen the Asda one, Very, Argos and one which I have totally forgotten what it was for (couldn’t have been very good)

My Sainsbury’s has a Christmas tree up - Ridiculous 😳

Ninny123 Sun 02-Nov-25 18:37:06

I happened to see the Asda one today , I said to my 6 year old grandson - here we go - the Xmas adverts have started - his face lit up 🎅🏻

Beechnut Sun 02-Nov-25 22:57:18

The BFG is doing one. I think it was Sainsbury’s.

The ASDA one is awful. I don't mind Christmas adverts , some are good, but this first offering isn't working for me at all.

I would like to watch a few recycled adverts if they would use them as current ones not just spend £millions on new ones. The John Lewis trampoline bouncing animals and MS Mrs Santa Claus to name 2.
Then the companies could say they are donating the savings to one of their charities. There must be a lot of people who have never seen them before...and neither of those 2 have anything which really dates them. Too late for this year of course as this year's would already be "in the can" or whatever a digital phrase might be.

Calendargirl Mon 03-Nov-25 06:52:06

I’ve seen the ASDA one several times.

Awful, and it seems to last for ages,

HelterSkelter1 Mon 03-Nov-25 10:36:32

Oh heavens just wsached the John Lewis 2025 Christmas Advert. It's a tear jerker.

MollyNew Mon 03-Nov-25 10:40:02

I've seen the Asda one. Not very inspiring.

clairefraser1 Mon 03-Nov-25 13:45:24

They get earlier every year, before Halloween this time. Where I live they've already put up the Christmas decorations in the centre complete with artificial tree

Barbadosbelle Mon 03-Nov-25 13:47:33

.
HelterSkelter1

Does it feature a mixed race family?!!!!

You know, their typical customers. The ones I never see at their massive store at Cribbs!

Only seen the Asda one not the best. One of the best is the Lidl Christmas one about Will Conker and based on Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Some hilarious lines in that. Bit naughty but so funny. HelterSkelter1 I agree the John Lewis one with the trampolining animals was one of their best.

BFG at Sainsburys. Seeing the ad 3 times during a 45 minute programme has put me off Christmas already.

WelshPoppy Mon 03-Nov-25 14:18:34

I saw the Asda one twice in a very short period of time and was fed up of it instantly.

FranP Mon 03-Nov-25 14:34:06

Kevin the carrot is out and about in print, but I have not seen the TV yet

Visgir1 Mon 03-Nov-25 15:19:07

M&S Christmas food advert all over Social media and on their App with Dawn French and her Fairy friend. Also saw one about 10 days ago on TV, tbh can't remember who it was for?

HelterSkelter1 Mon 03-Nov-25 15:32:19

Barbadosbelle. The 2025 J Lewis is not a mixed race family, just a woman of average Gnsnet age with her late husband. A tear jerker so have your hankies ready. I think it will appeal mostly to the retired! I dont think I can watch it many times.

Rewatched this morning JL Buster the Boxer from 2014 or so and the MS Mrs Claus from 2016. Both brilliant. Will try and avoid all the others this year. Its not even December.

Just watched the John Lewis one, the tears are falling fast. I am not easily moved to tears but being of advanced years and still with my DH it really hit me how lucky I am.

rosie1959 Mon 03-Nov-25 15:55:40

I just watched the John Lewis advert very clever but depressing advert not much christmas cheer bring back Buster the boxer

mokryna Mon 03-Nov-25 15:57:06

I have seen both the Asda and Argos and I am not impressed.

Usedtobeblonde Mon 03-Nov-25 16:44:20

Just seen the M&S one.
How I wish they would do one without Dawn French.
She acts so stupidly, it really annoys me but then I don’t really have to watch it.

Rosieroe Mon 03-Nov-25 16:50:31

I can’t believe that M&S have used Dawn French in this year’s Christmas ad. Her deranged rant about October 7th was vile.

Luckygirl3 Mon 03-Nov-25 16:53:19

In town today with ads for the council Christmas event with Santa etc. ..... on 14th November ..... madness ....
