Good morning from a brightening East Midlands.

Early hospital visit this morning before taking DS to the train.
Yet another tube removed from DH yesterday and I have been asked to bring in sandwiches. He is still reluctant to get out of bed which is a worry.

Wishing every one the best day possible.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Another mild start.
I was busy yesterday setting up the exhibition which previews later
today, including finding a space for a display case and giving it a good scrub. Now it looks so smart I shall have to share it.

Later I had to write a text and find photos for tomorrow's history group talk. Wish I'd not left it to the last minute. I sent it off at midnight to the technical guy .
In the midst of this my friend turned up with his overnight bag reminding me he was staying the night as his lodger was giving a party and he needed to escape.

I'd rather be pruning the roses and raking leaves Roses

I think I missed seeing the finished gansey. Karma. You are very skilled. Lovely photos from Wells.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk after a dull day yesterday. I think we have stopped the weather with the west of the country. As it is such a lovely day,I think we’ll head to the beach at some stage with the dog. The beach cafe at Dunwich is still open every day til the middle of the month so that is an added attraction.

Like others, the pile of ironing beckons but it can wait until other more attractive activities take place.

Hope today has some sunshine in for all in some shape or other.

Good morning all. Rain forecast for today, mild and calm in Glasgow.

A slow start to the day yesterday before an early afternoon appointment for Covid/flu vaccines from there a visit to Sainsbury’s for a few bits including flowers and my final, outing for the day to a large local garden centre for compost. A large section of their store was taken up by Christmas decorations of which were divided into choice of colour schemes from artificial trees to baubles the prices of which were eye watering.
One couple chose a black tree with black and white decorations. I can’t imagine it will look at all traditional but each to their own.
An at home day it is then given the weather, not even some time in the garden, I will footer about indoors bound to find things to do to fill the day. A Sunday FaceTime catchup for DD1 and I with DD2 in Australia.

My best wishes to all for a pleasant Sunday.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday I helped OH jar and label 30 jars of honey - the final batch of the season. He set off at the crack of dawn to a local Car Boot Sale this morning. I will attend the Remembrance Service in the next village. Several years ago when elder son was in the Royal Marines, he took part in the Cenotaph event. They practiced standing still for hours beforehand. I think we have the event on video still.

I will make our favourite beef bourguignon for dinner. I always make a pudding for Sunday, but haven’t decided on one yet!

Have a good and peaceful day.

Good Morning!

It's a dreary start in Barry (South Wales). I'm going to catch up with friends at my local Costa later and then have a roast for Tea.

Have a lovely day all smile

Good morning from a bright E Essex.

Waiting to find out if I have to take the 10yr old to his football match at 9am 🤷‍♀️

I have a pile of bedding to iron, then nothing to do until late afternoon when I shall be roasting a chicken for dinner around 6.30 ‘ish.

kittylester poor Bertie. Such a sore break. I hope he is ok

Good morning, Michael and all GNs on Remembrance Sunday. A foggy start in South Yorkshire. Set to be a dreich sort of day.

Yesterday I decided against going into town as the weather was dry and pleasant and better suited to being in the garden. I weeded and tidied the bed that runs alongside the patio, emptied the big planter by the front door and did some work on the rockery wall. I have a yellow allysum in full flower. I hope that doesn’t mean it won’t flower in the Spring.

In the evening I got into a panic because I suddenly realised I hadn’t got my watch on and spent a long time going round and round the house looking for it. I even stripped the bed. I finally gave up at bedtime. During the night after a bathroom visit, I flipped my pillow over when I got back into bed, lay on something hard and there was my watch, inside the pillow case! No, I don’t know how it got there either, but I am delighted to have found it.

I will watch the Whitehall muster this morning and the service of remembrance and then bake this afternoon. This house has been a cake free zone for too long!

Lovely photos, Karma.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Very happy day with DS and family and interesting to hear all their news about starting work and university life.
Today a phone call to DB and watch the Remembrance ceremony.
Sounds like my kind of day karma
Best wishes.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s just getting light and looks cloudy but dry
Gorgeous pictures karma thank you
I’ve nothing planned for today but lots of things to keep me busy. Hopefully I’ll get an hour or so in the garden if it’s dry, as the garden backs onto woodland there’s always lots of leaves to pick up at this time of year.
Hoping you can get back to driving again soon redcar
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all from a murky looking North Leicestershire.

We have an electrician coming to replace a security light this morning. And DH and DS1 are going to the football and I have a date with the sofa abd the papers.

We had a visit from DGS4 (Bertie) and his mum who were on the way home from A&E. He has just recovered from a ham string injury but now has a broken collar bone inflicted by an opposing player during a football match. He was his usual smiley self until I offered him a hug.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good Morning from Durham. Another damp, grey day forecast, but that could change, as it did yesterday - to a bright, sunny afternoon.
After taking DGS2 swimming I picked up DGS1 and went with DD2 to a play barn for a few hours. I got her home safely, then DGS1 came home with me for a sleepover. We stopped off at the Lego Store on the way home and he made up the new item before bed.
I’m taking him swimming this morning, then dropping him off at home, before seeing what DD2 is up to. This courtesy car/covid husband situation is a disaster. Her old car should be available on Friday - fingers crossed.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a fine Torbay but the dramatic sky at sunrise portends rain later.

The Coffee Morning was well attended and I discovered by chance that there’s an extraordinary meeting of the PCC on Thursday to approve the Safeguarding Policy recommended by the diocese. Communication has deteriorated since our priest left last year. Rehearsal commitments prevent me from attending.

DH was most impressed by the Model Railway Exhibition yesterday and by the shopping centre in Newton Abbot as it is more vibrant than Torquay.

Early service this morning then a Lidl shop perhaps.

A blessed Sunday to you all. 🦩🥰✝️💐🦩

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

DD messaged yesterday to say that they had a rare day when everyone was at home and would we like to pop over. It was a very pleasant couple of hours catching up with all the children, I love hearing their chat. Home for three pm so DH could watch the rugby whilst I walked the daft dug.

Mass this morning then I’ll be joining a few of our yarn group in a very cold barn to begin sewing our squares onto the giant steel frame which forms our Christmas tree.

Gorgeous photos Karma.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Redcar Sun 09-Nov-25 07:19:58

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s a chilly 4 degrees outside, slightly misty but blue sky above the mist.
Yesterday didn’t work out as I has planned, DD2 and family came in the morning and she finished pruning the large unruly rose bush that I had started last week. Then DD1 and her husband arrived. They had just collected their car from the garage and brought my car back. I’m hoping my back will allow me to drive again soon.

Lovely photos of Wells karma and an enjoyable morning at the market for you.

grandmabatty I hope your dgs2 is feeling a little better soon.

Thinking of all those who are in pain or struggling in any way.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and damp. Bellasnana what a lovely day for you. Karma lovely photos.
Yesterday I met up with my friend for breakfast and a chat. Neither of us were feeling great so we commiserated with each other. The garden centre was very festive which is just a bit too early for me! However the food is good and the service excellent.
Afterwards I nipped into Aldi for bread and milk. It was busy and I didn't feel like doing a full shop. Of course, that means I'll have to go back today. I had stripped the bed and washed and dried all the whites and the towels. A quiet afternoon and evening ensued. Dd, Dsil and the boys went ten pin bowling in the morning and had a whale of a time.
Today, food shopping then a small ironing is all I have planned. I need to buy birthday presents but I have little inclination to go shopping. Ah well, I'll see what the day brings. Gammon for dinner I think. Have a good day all.

Bellasnana Sun 09-Nov-25 06:14:36

Good morning from Malta where, again, thundery showers are forecast with a high of 23°C. So far we have had no showers, thundery or otherwise, so will just take it as it comes.

Had a nice chat over coffee with my friend yesterday morning before joining DD3 and the boys for an outing to Ghar Dalam which is a very deep cave where the bones of many large animals were unearthed many years ago. Elephants, hippos, etc from millions of years ago.

We then took the boys to a play park where they had a lot of space to run around before we all had lunch at a restaurant by the beach. Lovely spending time with them as always.

Today I have a large mountain of ironing to do then I will be watching the Remembrance Day service and later the tennis from Turin.

Lovely photos karma. I was relieved that the gansey arrived safely. I don’t think I’d have dared entrust it to the postal service after your last sad experience. It certainly is a work of art.

Wishing a peaceful Sunday to all.☀️

RosesandLilac Sun 09-Nov-25 06:08:53

Good morning, it’s damp here in south Glos, still mild for the time of the year.
Yesterday we had a lovely early dog walk, very atmospheric like the Hounds of the Baskerville with fog rolling across the common but glimpses of bright sunshine through the trees. Very muddy and slippery underfoot, I really must get some boots with good tread, my wellies definitely aren’t suitable.
I pruned my roses when I got back, I have a bunch of the last buds in a vase.
There’s still a lot of insect life in my garden, including bees, so I haven’t done much in the way of tidying; it doesn’t look too messy and it really won’t matter if it doesn’t get done until the spring. I have cerinthe seedlings growing everywhere, aka honeywort, and they’re such a valuable food source for bees etc, as well as having beautiful dusky purple flowers and pale green leaves. I definitely won’t be touching them.
Today I will get the ironing done and watch the Cenotaph commemorations, always a very poignant occasion
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

grandMattie Sun 09-Nov-25 06:00:07

karma, I forgot to mention how happy I am for you, regarding your gansey’s success. You are very intelligent, both manually and able to do all the calculations and such, to adapt your sewing, etc.

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy morning dark skies and rain later

The drive to Wells was very nice yesterday and parking was no problem but I was parked by 10. I spent a lovely 2 hours there, mostly in the Bishops palace and the beautiful tranquil garden, chatting to several people, including a couple from California and a northern man pushing his dog in a dog pram and a younger woman, who told me about the wonderful variety of hummus on sale in the farmers market

There were many tranquil areas each with their own microclimate and many benches for sitting to admire the view or just to sit and knit. Lots of artisan stalls inside the palace and up the entrance and I strolled around but did not buy anything apart from a tub of hummus from the street market

I left Wells by 12.30 and people could not park by then, round and round they went, some doing this for an hour. In future I will go by bus

Back home to a lovely meal and then knitting all afternoon and what a lovely saturday that was

Today, just a bit of the usual daily tidying and wiping here and there and a town walk this morning. I want to make a sock and cast on for another project

Have a good day

grandMattie Sun 09-Nov-25 05:27:15

Good morning from Bristol.
Very little from me. I spent a quiet day after the brief coffee and chat in church yesterday.
I have always found the Remembrance service very difficult and shall go to the early “civilian” one. Empty afternoon.
May the mountaineers have a quiet day.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦤🦩🦩
