How i hate this ad. The loud shouting voice of the girl singing goes right through me. Puts me right off buying anything to do with Miss Dior!!!🙉🙉🙉

I hate the shrieking too, and nothing to do with the perfume.
I record most programmes that I enjoy so can fast forward through the adverts.

It's Janis Joplin, isn't it?

Esmay Mon 10-Nov-25 11:42:46

It is horrible!
What a ghastly shrieking.
It's certainly not singing .

BlueBelle Mon 10-Nov-25 11:45:07

Have I seen it ?? I pay so little attention to adverts they never get on my nerves because I just blank them out completely
Can’t visualise it though

Allira Mon 10-Nov-25 11:46:04

I usually mute them.

Crossstitchfan Mon 10-Nov-25 11:49:55

I didn’t enjoy the ad either, but then I have never liked Janis Joplin’s voice.
I am surprised Dior chose such a raucous and unpleasant sound to advertise a beautiful perfume. In my opinion, the advert and the music do not go together.

I’m with there Crossstitchfan, never liked Janis Joplin’s singing. Dreadful scratchy noise!

Oh it drives me nuts. Especially when she says ‘ what would you do for love’. Which is a shame because I like Natalie Portman. In fact all of the perfume ads drive me nuts apart from one the other year featuring Timothee Chalamet (sp).

I hate it too!

Suzieque66 Tue 11-Nov-25 14:01:54

I mute most Tv programs especially SCD ... Shrieking and over talking ...

BrandyGran Tue 11-Nov-25 14:03:58

I can’t stand it. The girl is being a tease and keeps looking back at the man as she runs away. What is that meant to mean and nothing to do with perfume!

Cath9 Tue 11-Nov-25 14:12:45

Any relation to Christian Dior?
I ask as my mother’s friend during her school days became Christian Dior’s secretary so she was often sent various cChrstian Dior’s clothes from her friend

So many adds are annoying. The two women who scream at each other through a mirror - no idea what they are selling. The Dominoes one - so irritating. The one where people are singing about diarrhoea- ugh

I really love this bold advert (assuming the one on the rooftop and jumping off the cliff is the one)
I think it's a new take on Miss Dior.

Here's some info on the filming:

I get fed up with all the perfume ads, but I love this one, been a fan of Janis Joplin many years. Sadly another young life wasted.

Foxyferret Tue 11-Nov-25 16:13:42

I think it’s Keira Knightly on the Dior ad. I always mute all the ads, great to have that button.

It's Natalie Portman - the face of Miss Dior.

In one of the Star Wars films Keira Knighley and Nicola Portman played roles in which they were supposed to be mistaken for each other because of their similar appearance.

Allira Tue 11-Nov-25 16:43:03

Yes, they are.

I wonder if they've researched their family trees and found a connection?

MayBee70 Tue 11-Nov-25 17:23:47

I don’t think they’re similar now. But when they were much younger, when girls in their late teens tend to have chubbier faces, they were alike. It was at the time when I rather went off Star Wars films as so much of it was computer generated but I did go to see that particular film.

Calendargirl Tue 11-Nov-25 17:24:24

I thought it was Keira Knightly as well!

Had to look it up, and saw it was Natalie Portman.

MayBee70 Tue 11-Nov-25 17:39:37

“Keira Knightley was just 12 when she played Sabé, Queen Amidala's decoy in The Phantom Menace ⭐️🎬 She looked so much like Natalie Portman, even Portman's own mum couldn't tell them apart on set.20 Apr 2025”.

I rather like the Tom Ford ad with Tilda Swinton in dark blue. It makes it look as if it's a sophisticated perfume.

MayBee70 Tue 11-Nov-25 20:54:26

I love Whitney Peak in the Coco Mademoiselle adverts. I didn’t know who she was so had to Google her. I always stop what I’m doing and watch her ( bit like the Timothee Chalamet one from the other year). Keira Knighley used to do their adds. I was in the kitchen last night and the Miss Dior ad came on the tv in the living room and it still grated on me!
