God morning all from Glasgow, where it 6°C, DH says it is bitterly cold outside.
It was the same yesterday, my joints protested badly. My fingers wouldn't work.
Such sad news this morning from our Grans. I can never understand why some people have so much pain and sorrow and others apparently sail through life.
Susan, you have had a dreadful time of it recently. 💕
Yesterday, I had one of the happiest days for a long time. DD was worried that I would not be well enough to go out with her and SIL. She hadn't reckoned on my determination.
My careful planning paid off.
We got to the end of the road, just as the bus arrived and we got off right at the station entrance.
DD messaged to say my phone was needing charged (she tracks me, due to recent episodes) , so I was praying for one of the more modern trains with a charging point. I managed to partly charge it on the train, so panic over.
There was no sign of DD, when we got off and having spotted a Morrisons, I trotted off to find a loo. Another panic over!
I came out to find DD, who had the same problem!!
I didn't want to drag my family in and out of charity shops ( there were many), but SIL insisted, saying that it was my treat and to go where I wanted.
I had a great time, charity shops, world food shops, interspersed with a delicious Chinese lunch, courtesy of my children and for DH, comfort breaks sampling craft beers. I haven't been that area of Glasgow for at least thirty years!
We returned home via DD's Village, where we had supper and a game of pool. I haven't played in over thirty years, but beat DD. She was raging.🤣
The only flight in the ointment was there were no seats on the train. The disability seats were all occupied by teenagers on their phones, who refused to make eye contact and offer a seat.
A young man across from them put them to shame, by getting up and offering me his seat.
We came out of the pub, just as the bus arrived ( they are quite unreliable) and the driver cheekily asked if we wanted dropped off at the nursing home!
He kindly asked where we stayed and dropped us off right at the end of the road. A walk home saved!
As usual, I paid the price, I haven't slept much, my pain levels have been very high, but it was such a lovely day, with much laughter and joy.
I hadn't looked at my phone until late last night and realised the draft Parish bulletin was full of errors. The young man, who compiled it, is away for the weekend and can't change it. I have been frantically trying to stop the P.P printing it and causing chaos. I would be better writing it myself, but don't want any more responsibilities.
A poster is also required for our fundraiser, family Hogmmaay party, so that also needs to be done today.
I wish you all a pleasant Saturday and as always, I keeping the poorlies in my thoughts and prayers. ♥️
