Good morning to all the night owls
I m late waking this morning and seem to have missed my
3 am slot however 4.30 am will do ( 4 and a half hours is positively a very long sleep for me) who knows I might even drop of again for a doze before I get up at 6 ready for some work
So who s around ?

Usedtobeblonde Mon 05-Jan-26 05:52:24

Good morning.
Just woken after a super nights sleep.Hooray.
It is -6 and after a light snowfall it looks so very cold , I fear it will be very deadly driving out there.
Stay very safe everyone.

Mollygo Mon 05-Jan-26 06:31:21

Woke up at 6. Thats a great night’s sleep for me. The snow that fell here has frozen into an icy crunchy layer that even the dog didn’t like.
Go carefully.

Esmay Mon 05-Jan-26 09:00:20

I think that I had about two hours sleep and then was awake for hours .
Lots to do today.
I hope that I have the energy !

Hi Georgesgran I ve had 4 and a half hours and I can manage perfectly on that Back to work after NY and I’m so looking forward to it it’s been very very boring these last few days not able to get out because of the weather the snow etc and twiddling my fingers in the house. I’ve made some birthday cards, ready for this year and doing a jigsaw, wasting time on iPad. But nothing that I call productive so it will be a great day today.

BlueBelle Tue 06-Jan-26 04:03:50

Whoops where did George’sgran come from I think I must have been on another page by accident
Sorry if I m getting you all as muddled as me I m sure she was there a minute ago now she’s gone, forgive an old lady

HelterSkelter1 Tue 06-Jan-26 04:07:23

Wideawake. I have braved the cold kitchen to make a drink and refill the hottie although I am warm in bed. In fact my feet were too warm in bed socks.
A very bright moon and sparkly stars tonight.

It's very quiet. Electric cars have made such a difference to the noise level in our road which is in the town centre and has always been a popular place for taxis to hover. So they now glide in and park instead of revving. And the Uni students are not back yet and they can be noisy late at night or early morning.

I hope everyone is fast asleep.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 06-Jan-26 04:08:53

I also have had about 4 and a half hours unbroken sleep.
I got engrossed in a series on tv and watched all episodes on ITV x so very unlike me and it was 11 before I came to bed.
I must have been asleep almost straight away.
It is -5 on my phone, we are promised a slightly warmer day than yesterday which isn’t saying much.
I couldn’t get a delivery slot from Sainsbury’s for today which makes me thing many more people are staying in and getting food delivered.

HelterSkelter1 Tue 06-Jan-26 04:14:22

Am stuck on Wordle so will leave that till daylight and read instead for a while. I have probably managed about 6 hours sleep. That will do.

BlueBelle Tue 06-Jan-26 04:32:31

I got Wordle on the very last try just couldn’t see it at all

grandMattie Tue 06-Jan-26 05:22:02

I woke up at 2 and felt very cross about it. But have just woken up! About 6 hours! Lovely.
Is seems extremely frosty out, but the very cold, sub-zero is easing off.

JamesandJon33 Tue 06-Jan-26 05:38:22

Five o ‘clock for me today which is good, with just two trips to the loo.
Very snowy by the look of it today, so take care.

Aveline Tue 06-Jan-26 07:20:58

I'm thinking I shouldn't be posting on this thread. I seem to have struck a lucky streak with sleep and am sleeping much better. Stupid thing to say though. I hope I've not jinxed my next sleep.

Mollygo Wed 07-Jan-26 02:13:11

The gritter’s just gone down the hill again. Sorry I’m awake to see it, but reassured that it will be safe to go out later on.

Grammaretto Wed 07-Jan-26 02:29:24

I'm still awake. Drat.
Comforting to hear the gritter Mollygo but I hope you and I can get to sleep.

I'm staying with friends so in a strange but very comfortable bed.

I wish I could get to sleep. I suppose my brain is too excited after the long journey here and seeing my friends again after several months.

I could count sheep I suppose or try yoga breathing.

After a good run of nights asleep, tonight I haven’t slept yet!
I tried listening to a story, very good, The Wedding Suit by Rachel Joyce on Radio 4.
I almost dozed off, but didn’t. I’m downstairs now and should really try to go back to bed.

Purplepixie Wed 07-Jan-26 04:14:29

Wide awake still! Just can’t get to sleep! It’s my youngest son’s birthday today and he’s phoning after 9am so I’ve set the alarm. I’m Fedup with these rubbish nights of bitsa sleep!

grandMattie Wed 07-Jan-26 04:26:03

Hello. Just woken up. My pattern seems to have settled into (often) napping through the night, with a maximum of 5 hours sleep.
I have tinnitus and have ClassicFM on, very low, all night which seems to help. I would listen to R3 but the music they put out is very “worthy”, not Tommy taste at all.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 07-Jan-26 05:16:59

Awake since 4.00. So not a bad night of 6 hours. Good enough. Hotties refilled and a coffee made. The kitchen didn't seem quite so Arctic. There's a bright moon and clear sky.

My sleep has improved over the last few months. I don't know why. My worries haven't changed. I used to be awake on and off most of the night. It could happen again so I am not complacent.
Back to my book. Have read thr news headlines and will have a quick go at Wordle first.

Hope some early birds have gone back to sleep or listening to grandMattie's Tommy channel!

BlueBelle Wed 07-Jan-26 07:06:01

Five hours sleep in good though Grandmatte to me that’s a excellent night I do think we all worry about it to pinmuch and the more you think about it the worse your sleep will be become
I truly believe acceptance and relaxation are the key
Have a great day everyone I m getting ready for work at 8
Speak later

RosesandLilac Thu 08-Jan-26 02:27:15

Hi! As usual I have no idea why I’m awake! It’s wet outside after yesterday’s black ice; I really dislike the very cold weather, my hands and feet get very painful from arthritis despite dressing warmly.
I’m going to have a wardrobe turnout today, I have far too many clothes I never wear so someone else will benefit. I’m going to make a concerted effort to stop wearing the same things and to make an effort to smarten up a bit while still being comfortable.
I had a very enjoyable zoom art class yesterday evening, it’s good to try something different.
A hot drink and hopefully I’ll get back to sleep.

Grammaretto Thu 08-Jan-26 02:45:24

Awake again. Wide awake. Staying with people is difficult. I don't want to make any noise. I shall read for a while, do a codeword, count sheep.

I had such a good day yesterday. My friend and I walked across one of the glorious empty beaches. I shall have to come back in Summer. Last night they took me ceilidh dancing.

MayBee70 Thu 08-Jan-26 02:56:15

I’m rearranging my kitchen. Even though I know that, at some point ( probably quite soon) I’ll put everything back where it was before…

Nuttynanna2 Thu 08-Jan-26 03:33:15

Waiting for painkillers to kick in again. Can't get up and get a hot drink as I can't manage the stairs on my own yet and will not wake up family. Hopefully will get another couple of hours soon.

Mollygo Thu 08-Jan-26 04:44:27

Hope your painkillers have worked, Nuttynanna2
Crazily, I was sleeping well until DH woke me to tell me the dog had got his hand towel!
Sorry, but she can keep it till we get up.

BlueBelle Thu 08-Jan-26 04:59:08
