Thank you as always to our treasured benefactor soop.
Hot chocolate and warm muffins await, cushions plumped and fire stoked.

A peaceful and enjoyable Christmas to the Soops and all kitcheners, with my hopes and prayers for improving circumstances for everyone with health or other issues.

Things are not going to plan here as I guessed correctly.
Young people have a different concept of time to those of us who have lived a long time.
My GD and her BF worked until 1, by the time they were ready to go out for last bits and to visit his Father it was 2:45.
I don’t like eating after 6:30, it upsets me.
They have been in 10 minutes now and started cooking party food.
I had already got Sourdough bread and a cheeseboard ready.
It is going to be 7:45 before the party food we are having is ready.
I have had one alcoholic drink already, starting on the next to calm my nerves. 3 is my limit, will I last out?
I truly don’t know.!!
We really shouldn’t plan and expect things to go to it.
Happy Christmas everyone!,,

Happy Christmas to all in Soops kitchen. Especially those with mountains to climb. May the slope get less. 🎄🎄🎄

Hello kitchen people.

All should be ready for tomorrow! Vegetables are peeled, turkey is ready for the oven and lots of things are defrosting.

I booked Panto tickets for Monday. Our granddaughter is coming to stay for a few days after Christmas while her parents go to Scotland. Aren’t theatre tickets expensive!

I hope all of us in this kitchen have a calm and peaceful Christmas Day. Special wishes for the Soop’s and the FGT2S. 🌲

Another very occasional poster, but regular reader, coming to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Like grannydaisy1 I feel as if I know you all!
We had our ‘family’ Christmas last Sunday, with 13 sitting down, including 6 grandchildren for the traditional Turkey meal. They all stayed overnight as no one is local so December has been dedicated to preparing everything. It was hard work but worth it as we had a lovely time. So Christmas Day tomorrow will be a relaxed affair, spending it in Sussex with the wider family.
So my best wishes to all Kitcheners and our dear Soop for a happy day, however you spend it.

I’m at DD1s now, my son in law collected me and loads of presents this afternoon and I’ve done very little since I arrived. We all went to DD2s late afternoon for a chat and a drink, I used my walking sticks and can go quite quickly but of course can’t carry anything.
The granddaughters are in bed now, and I will go up soon. My room is in the loft and cold!! I’ll need my hot water bottle tonight for sure.
Like many others on this thread I am missing my DH, but life goes on!
I hope we all have a very pleasant Christmas and that those who are poorly will feel better tomorrow.
Thinking in particular of the fgts and the soops and anyone else with mountains to climb.
Merry Christmas everyone, night night.

My son is here and we have had greek food from a new restaurant. I'm stuffed! Chicken souvlaki and wine with my boy. What more could I ask for? I wish you all a peaceful Christmas Day tomorrow

A very late Good Evening to all you lovely people in Soop's Kitchen. Wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas and the best day possible tomorrow.

TOYA, especially our dear Soops, hoping and praying that all is well with them and they are enjoying family time. I hope Jaxjacky and Rosie's and Brook's grandaughters are all recovering well, I'm thinking of all with illness, worries or sorrow, may tomorrow be a better day. 🙏🕯

I've been to the Christmas Vigil Mass with all my siblings, beautiful, lovely carol singing too. I found it emotional but I'm a wee bit wobbly just now, missing DH. I'll see all the family tomorrow, that will keep me going. I'm still doing last minute things, but I'll get there. Very busy day.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas Eve and a good night's sleep. NNGB.

Grannmarie Wed 24-Dec-25 22:57:29

Sounds like the perfect evening, Grandmabatty, I'm delighted for you. 🥰

Popping in to wish all Kitcheners a very peaceful Christmas.

Three of my chicks are around me and the fourth no doubt will join us by the magic of FaceTime tomorrow. May Santa bring all that you wish for.

Love to you all. Xxx

Merry Christmas everyone. Although the family are here it is still quiet and we are awaiting DHs carer to come and get him up. He may get too impatient and get himself up!

I echo kittys thoughts in hoping the soops are having a good Christmas.

Grandmabatty Thu 25-Dec-25 10:17:52

Merry Christmas to all in Soops kitchen. I wish you all peace and happiness. I've been up for ages. Ds is still sleeping! We don't have to be at dds til after three so plenty time to chill.
Have a lovely day

Special wishes to those in the quiet corner and to our dear founder soop and mrsoop, the fgts, dragonfly and mrdragonfly, apologies to anyone I’ve missed. Also special wishes to those of us who are desperately missing loved ones no longer with us. May we all find some peace and happiness today.
