Hello on this dark and very wet day! I'm quite new here fo forgive me if I haven't put this in the correct place.
I am having my first shingles jab in Tuesday. I'm normally fine with all the usual vaccines ,but for some breakfast unexplained reason I am in a bit of a stew about this one.
Have any of you had it,and if so how did you feel afterwards?
Thanks in advance .

My late mum had shingles and the pain never left her. I vowed I would get immunised and went privately when I was in my 60s. Now 79 I was offered the jab again and accepted it. Felt a bit off for a day after each jab, but so pleased I have had it.

It is so painful although I did get over it eventually. I remember my boyfriend taking me out for the first time as I was starting to recover. It started to rain and I started to cry. Every raindrop felt like an electric shock.

I had it when it was first offered even though I had had a shingle.
No trouble, and no more shingles.

I had my second inoculation yesterday. The nurse was amused that I had left 18 months between the two - where did that time go?
My arm was very sore afterwards but feeling much better this morning. No other after effects so I’m pleased. Hope everyone else has a smooth time of it too.

Thank you to your post, I have just had my shingles jab. The nurse said it was very wise to get the jab. A second one to complete the course is due in about 5 months.

My wife and I have had both our Shingles jabs last year, each jab 6 months apart, no issues at all. Also had our pneumonia jabs as well, again no issues.
