Good morning from a wet and windy Torbay.

It must be the day for Christmas fairs, Mick, as there’s one at our church today. I've agreed to help providing I can sit down as my joints don’t cope with standing for too long. . Last time I sold tickets for visits to Santa.

Whatever your plans, I wish you a good weekend. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

A busy evening with the children. They were both really good and no arguing🥳Today we are going to a Victorian Christmas market then we will take H back to DD’s while DD and DGD go to see the new Wicked film.

Thinking of all struggling and wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It’s been raining ☔️ all night and is supposed to be wet all day.
My Spanish class went well. I’m not sure they will carry on as only 6 people signed up and as far as I can remember, we have been all together this term.
The afternoon was spent pottering, I’m making a beanie, to keep my hands busy in the evenings.
Today, I’m serving at the church coffee. One of our regulars is 95 today, so we’ve been asked to make a fuss of him. I’m getting a card. There will be heating of sorts; apparently two blowers have been hired.
In the afternoon, there’s a concert for the pupils of a singing teacher. I think’ most of her pupils are young. She’s the daughter of one of my neighbours, so I need to support him.
Have a good day, full,of positive news, especially md and the fgts.

Good morning, it’s pouring with rain here in south Glos, soggy Saturday morning.
I enjoyed art group yesterday, it’s a lovely friendly meet-up and we all get on well - sometimes little painting gets done!
I did get some housework done yesterday afternoon, mainly because I wanted to get the washing out of the way, and I’ll get on with the rest today.
Despite having no plans I’m sure I will find plenty of things to keep me occupied for the weekend, I am rarely bored!
I hope that you have a peaceful weekend 🌹

Good morning from s somerset, it is raining and we have rain warnings

Knitting will fill my day today and bit of tidying and putting away. I have crumbles to make and the gooseberries are already de-frosting in dishes. Paperwork still needs to be done, I always procrastinate over that, obviously my least favourite job

Our lights switch-on is this weekend, should be a jolly time with all sorts going on in town

Very positive news from the three AC Son has had a second visit to Aberdeen and is all set to sign contracts, just waiting for final paperworks from their buyer. They love Aberdeen and that whole area. Son in law has already had three dates for job interviews, he leaves teaching in three weeks and dgd in Wales has had offers from all the universities she has applied to, including the one she set her heart on, to do an engineering degree

A couple of neat caddy- stack shelves will be arriving today and I will be able to finally finish a storage cupboard in my kitchen. I might then treat myself to a film for this evening

Have a good day

Good morning from Malta where a dry day is forecast with a high of 17°C.

I managed to avoid the rain yesterday as it had stopped by the time I went for my hair.

Had an unplanned haircut, it’s quite short now but ok. My hairdresser said I look like Jane Fonda to which I replied ‘ I think I look more like Gail Platt from Coronation Street’😂

Had a warning light in the car indicating tyre trouble so went straight to the tyre man who pumped air into all four but informed me it’s time I changed the front two tyres. Another expense but a necessary one. I will take it on Monday to get them changed.

I was in time to fetch the boys from school at 1.30pm and had them until around 6pm. They were angels and I loved having them but must admit I rewarded myself with a glass of Prosecco after I’d finished rearranging the living room when they had gone home!

I won’t be going out in the car until I have the tyres sorted as the warning light is still on, so I might walk up to M&S foods to see what treats they have and maybe have a coffee if it’s not too busy.

Wishing a good day to all whatever you are up to.☀️

Like the idea of your shorter hair, bellas. An unexpected change sometimes works.
My hair is short now, as you know. My hairdresser cut it much much shorter than I expected, some 20 years ago. I hated it, but received so many compliments that I kept it short. It’s also very easy maintenance!

Grandmabatty Sat 29-Nov-25 06:51:01

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and damp. The temperature has dropped significantly since the last couple of days. Karma gooseberry is one of my favourite fruits. I missed out on the season this year. And well done to your family.
Yesterday I had the boys for a couple of hours in the morning while dd did some Christmas shopping and got her eyebrows done. They were both very good until she came back and dgs2 decided to have a tantrum. He had had too much sweet stuff which was my fault, I admit. So sugar is rationed at grandma's from now on. In the afternoon I had a Tesco delivery then a wine delivery so I'm all stocked up.
Today I am meeting my friend and her daughter for breakfast at the local garden centre. I haven't seen her for a while and I'm looking forward to it. I will need to nip to Aldi for washing powder. Tesco didn't have the kind I like and didn't replace it. Then home for housework and washing. I'll empty the box of wine at some point and find a home for it all. Have a good day all.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but 6 degrees and wet. I felt very dizzy when I woke up and got out of bed, and nearly fell over. Hope I’m not sickening for anything.

DS is coming down to spend the day with me today. I have booked lunch at one of our local pubs, then we will be robbed of a walk because of the weather, but there’s some paperwork from the taxman I want him to look over with me. That should make for a jolly afternoon!

Have the best day you can, folks.

Jaxjacky Sat 29-Nov-25 06:52:50

Morning from a wet and windy S Hants, we’re on a warning too karma.
Yesterday was a good morning stretch class, Tesco delivered in the afternoon, then I was out with my daughter to choose and bring home our tree. It’s a good and my car now smells lovely, a bargain too as an offer until tomorrow meant 20% off.
Today is paper and I don’t know yet, washing machine will have bedding in.
Enjoy your Saturday if you can, thoughts with those for whom life is rather uncertain right now.

Good morning from soggy South Lanarkshire.

Our planned visit to friends yesterday evening had to be postponed as he has come down with this cold which is doing the rounds.

I did some online shopping for Christmas, managed to get everything I wanted for DS’s children. Must get on with the rest of it.

Daft dug has a haircut booked this morning, DH has volunteered to take her as my back is bothering me and I haven’t slept well.

I’ll try to make a final push on the crochet angels today.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Kalu Sat 29-Nov-25 07:10:24

Good morning all. I haven’t checked on today’s weather but no sound of wind or rain so far.

No plan to what I might do today, I will decide later. As today would have been our 51st wedding anniversary I should probably go out rather than sit at home in an empty house. I must move forward rather than dwelling on the past. Time to give myself a shake and get on with it.

My best wishes to all for a good weekend especially for others who are struggling through their own difficult times.

Kalu Sat 29-Nov-25 07:16:28

Good luck with your paperwork Greyduster. Dealing with HMRC is a minefield!

EkwaNimitee Sat 29-Nov-25 07:24:20

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark, wet Carlisle.

Yesterday I went into town in reasonable weather which deteriorated rapidly as I went about my errands ending in heavy rain.
I took a bag of items to the charity shop and then headed to the library for a new supply of hearing aid batteries. It's currently mostly closed for renovations and though signs told you where to go, there were no arrows and I wasn't familiar with this part of the mall and its car park. After a bit of up and downing by lift and stairs, I had to ask in a handy office. Success finally. The library now consists of one crowded little room and it looks like you have to order what you want to read.

After that, I was just in time for my dental appointment and now have a full mouth of teeth! Home via M&S food hall where I managed to avoid buying my favourite bread...it's too addictive. My scales didn't give me a happy message this morning.
The rain cleared briefly after lunch and I got more crocuses planted in the lawn, most are in now.

Today I'm off to post those Australian christmas cards which I totally forgot to take with me yesterday. I'll get the paper and one or two oddments whilst I'm at it. Looks like it will be a reading day but I really ought to buckle down to having a look at my finances.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from DD1s house in Cambridge where it’s just getting light
Thank you all for your kind wishes yesterday, we arrived safely early afternoon after a good journey. Today is DGSs 11th birthday, he’s got football practice this morning then an Escape room type birthday party with his pals this afternoon. Tomorrow we’re having a family get together with the other grandparents so a busy weekend ahead.
Kalu💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a grey S E Essex, we have rain forecast ☔️

The GC were good in our local Italian restaurant (DS and DiL take V & F there regularly and the staff know them and make a fuss of them) They went to bed and straight to sleep. They are in their room reading at the moment.

We have to go to local butchers and bakers first thing. DH might take F (GS 6yr) to the Christmas Fayre at one of the churches in our road while I take V (GD 8yr) to her gymnastics coaching class. Then it’s keeping them fed, watered and occupied until The Imp is dropped off to join us around 5-6pm. I think it will be noisy and messy in the playroom 🙀

I have heard from Marydoll she is very poorly, and not up to posting at the moment.

Love (((hugs))) and hope you are comfortable and in the mend Marydoll 😘

Enjoy your Saturday whatever you are doing 🙋‍♀️

Redcar Sat 29-Nov-25 07:35:43

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s damp out and rain is forecast for this morning. My Ocado order was cancelled yesterday but I am hoping it will be delivered this morning. Bingo last night was poorly attended and the village hall felt cold. My friends won several prizes, but two of us were unlucky.

I’m planning on putting some more lights up indoors and need to start on the Christmas cards. Not much more Christmas shopping to do, but lots of vouchers to get and money to transfer!

Family are busy today but I’ll see them all tomorrow as it’s Dgd4’s birthday on Monday and we’re having a get together tomorrow.

A Christmas Fair in the church today, but I probably won’t go as space is restricted and it gets very crowded. My rollator and I take up too much space to be comfortable in crowded places.

Thinking of all those in difficulty, I hope life gets a little easier for you.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a very dark but still morning in North Yorkshire. Cant even see the outline of the tree against the sky yet.

I had a very nice time at my friends yesterday so mentally very good , but oh my, physically somewhat of a wreck this morning. Must have turned over badly or whatever, I dont know, but wide awake at 3am and in a lot of pain from various bits of my body, not improved by then having two sessions of wretched cramp, so am creeping about at the moment waiting for it to feel less like reoccuring before I risk going in the shower. Most annoying as I had plans for today, about going to the market and then off to this Repair Cafe , where you can get a variety of things done and pay a reasonable price agreed before they start. It is so good on all fronts as things all then get reused and not go into landfill, plus as the people doing the mending will be experts in their field, so if they tell you it isnt worth mending, you can believe them as they have no axe to grind and not trying to sell you anything. So even that is a plus as I find myself holding on to something in the hope that it can be mended and it is just cluttering up the place.

My main idea had been to take 3 pairs of trousers with me and get them to see how to make them fit better, and I had planned to be there early , first in the queue etc. However at the moment dont even know if I will get there, which is a shame.

As I was so wide awake and not a chance to go back to sleep, and then felt hungry too , so ended up getting some cereal to fill the gap and then read the local D@S which always has interesting articles but also does all the news from the small villages all over North Yorkshire and bits of Co Durham etc., so today it was full ,of course ,of christmas fairs and coffee mornings in aid of charities etc etc. I marked all the possible ones but then will have to make a list of dates and times and make a choice, there is so much going on of course at this time of year.

The one I must put on my calendar is they have a lovely day in Saltburn on I think it is the 13th december this year, where they have an ice sculpture trail in various parts of the town and along the sea front. You can also watch someone actually making one. They did very well last year I remember, because firstly it is a free event. Saltburn council are actually both fair and very savvy, as money was so tight for everyone and to have something that all the family could enjoy from toddlers to great grannies ,where they even had father christmas sitting in an ice sleigh. (Bet he had to have polar long jobns and a cushion down his trousers to sit on that ) The children loved meeting him and having a photo taken with him etc. So of course the whole town was buzzing, and all in good humour. Then naturally, many people went to the cafes and restaurants so there was some business in the town, and people who did not know the town before , found out how great it was and then there was the added funicular to go on, so a good time was had by all. So fingers crossed for a dry day but that is definitely going to the top of the list for me. It is absolutely ages since I have been there anyway.

Havent even been up Swaledale for far too long, and can only hope that I begin to feel a bit better and as soon as possible I will make my pilgrimage to my special place up there, to think of my lovely husband and family and friends and all the music I have sung up and down the dale over the years.

Am hoping , fingers crossed , for a quieter week this next week, because I really need to get up to date with paperwork, and they days are moving on and I still havent even sorted out about the MOT yet. Trying to get the buggy sorted out of course, will be top priority , and think it is going to be new batteries needed and am already cringing at the thought of the price for two batteries. But this last few days has shown me how it is not an extravagance but a necessity for me , even to put the washing on the line now, and to be free to go to the high street and shop on market days. Really , in a way , it is more needed mentally, as when I able to get around on that I still feel independant and can do my own thing, without feeling I have to ask for help, which I hate, even though I know the help is gladly given. So hopefully gangster granny will be out and about in a few days!

Ah Mick, the temptations of the christmas fayres! Hope you will be able to enjoy them without succumbing to temptation. (like me) GrandMattie, hope the beanie plan went well, and you enjoy the concert. Karmalady you are on a roll with all your successful sorting and making and now good news from the family. How lovely and hope it all continues to go well. Bellasnana hope you get your car sorted out soon. I have tyre pressure lights come on, but checked the tyres and all ok, but had been over rather a high speed bump and maybe that was something to do with it. Will see how it goes after the MOT and hope that there are no major costly repairs with that . Greyduster hope you are now feeling better and can enjoy your visitor coming.

Well at last a little lighter sky and no rain, so time to make a move. Hope everyone keeps safe and well and has a good day today whatever they are doing

Good morning all from North Leicestershire where it is pouring with rain. Sad, because today is our village Christmas Fair and Light switch on. My choir is singing (without me) so I intend to go for that bulit whatever.

Have the best day possible everyone.
