Good morning from Lancashire. Dark and cold this morning but at least it's not raining. I'm planning to re-arrange my furniture this morning to make a space for the Christmas decorations. I have a lot of pets so need to be careful where I put things.

harrigran Wed 03-Dec-25 05:43:20

Good morning Mick and all who follow.
Wide awake at 5 am but nothing to get up early for so will sit and read.
Waited all day for heating engineer, he eventually arrived at 4 pm, just the boiler service so didn't take too long.
Have a good day.

RosesandLilac Wed 03-Dec-25 05:48:47

Good morning Mick and followers, it’s a frosty start here in south Glos and the road is wet, I’m hoping it’s not icy as tiddler has a routine vet check this morning. I need a repeat prescription and I can’t have it until the vet checks her over.
Her appointment is 9.20 so I think I will leave early and take her for a walk beforehand, we can do one across the parkland and loop back along the road without getting too muddy I hope. It will be nice to go somewhere different.
I have a zoom art class at 10, I will miss the start but can’t be helped.
I was given a frozen turkey yesterday, there isn’t enough room in the freezer so I will cook it and remove the meat and then freeze it. I don’t actually like turkey much.
Best wishes 🌹

Good morning from Bristol. Although I have been awake for a couple of hours and am on my second tib, I’ve no idea what’s going on outside.
I was incredibly busy yesterday for some reason. Before I had gone to town for shopping, DD texted me with the girls’ demands for Christmas. When I realised at the bus stop that it was over 20 minutes late, I decided to take an Uber. It would save me nearly an hour. I got all I wanted very quickly and took a bus home.
As I had prepared vegetables for piccalilli on Monday, I had to cook and pot it. 14 pots, left to mature for at least 6 weeks. Then lunch and a teeny sit down.
Then, I went to church for that stupid course, thankfully it’s the last one. Or so I thought! Ha! I still have to have a face to face with one of the four leaders…
I refilled the little table with preserves and realised that I had no regular marmalade left in stock. So, once home, I made some more using tinned fruit (shhh). Another 14 jars. Both lots needed washing and labelling. I’ve done the piccalilli but still need to do the marmalade. This morning’s job.
Today is busy again. I’m hosting the Anchor coffee morning here. I’ll have time to rest before going off to church to help with our village festival.
The streets are full, full of people attending the fair; stalls, choir singing, mulled wine, etc. We have “quiet play” for the wired children. Gives everyone a few minutes of quiet.
Then a peaceful evening. Phew!
My best wishes to all with mountains to climb.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire but we are set for a dry day again. Yesterday I walked to school and back. I don’t like to take my car if I can help it because parking is difficult there, and I enjoy the exercise.
I had a message on the way home from GS asking how I was and did I fancy at chat? I told him to text me when he was free and I would ring him. It turned out to be bang in the middle of me preparing my evening meal, but I’m always so pleased to talk to him that I was happy to delay it.
Today I am going out for a Christmas lunch with a group of my neighbours. We are booked into a pub we went to last year which was very nice. Christmas jumpers will be worn. But before that I shall go to the gym this morning early.

Have the best day you can folks.

cornergran Wed 03-Dec-25 06:23:03

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset looks dry and is forecast to remain so. Still very wet underfoot out there.

Little energy here, thankfully little needed today. I’m finding it hard to relax, full of worries. A coffee and catchup with neighbours this morning will cheer me. After lunch a ride out to collect the computer which will I’m sure involve a garden centre stop for a cuppa. Our wizard isn’t certain the computer will last much longer. Oh heck, at least he’ll manage the changeover for us when it’s necessary. Mr C doesn’t get involved now and I’m more than happy to sub contract these things!

Best wishes to all. Have the best day you can everyone.

Bellasnana Wed 03-Dec-25 06:25:05

Good morning from a rather wet Malta where we expect a rainy day with a high of 17°C.

Reading of all your busy, productive days makes me feel such a lazybones. I used to be always on the go but these days my CBA sets in and that’s that!

Went for my nails yesterday and enjoyed the chat with my nail technician who works with her sister in their own little salon. Their mum comes in so I know her well and it’s always very loud as everyone chats with each other and it’s all very jolly!

Stopped to buy some new trainers on the way home as my favourite pair gave up the ghost this week.

I had intended to go to Lidl but the aforementioned CBA had set in by then so I just popped into my corner shop for milk instead.

Might go today although it’s raining so I’m not really keen to go out.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

grandMattie Wed 03-Dec-25 06:29:31

Bunches of flowers, bellas? Looks lovely. Your nail technician must enjoy herself doing all those different patterns.

I’m very envious of people with attractive hands, mine have short dumpy fingers and horrible nails. Thankfully, my children have inherited their father’s beautiful hands.

karmalady Wed 03-Dec-25 06:41:13

Good morning from s somerset, sunny and bright today

I made a toaster1 top yesterday, very tricky thick fleece-backed fabric and I broke two needles. I had that fabric in stash for years and I think it also blunted my roller cutter. Cutting plus sewing took me less than 2 hours and it was hanging up by 9am. I am very happy with it, it is very wearable and warm

Later I made front and back of my denim skirt, so far it looks very nice with good pockets. Today I will do waistband, zip and hem. I took a chance with this, not making a toile but the finished measurements seem appropriate

Easy stir fry (tofu) today, sewing and knitting. I will be on my feet a lot of the time and moving so am not faffed with any extra exercise

Have a good day

Good morning Mick and everyone.
Beautiful nails Bellasnana and another great stash of home made produce grandMattie.
I'm surrounded by pictures, on the floor, but sitting in close proximity to where they are to be hung. The handyman is due this morning.
The house will feel more like home I think once familiar picures are in place.
I'll make a chicken curry later.
Wishing everyone the best day possible whatever your circumstances. My thoughts are with those who are finding life challenging. flowers

Grandmabatty Wed 03-Dec-25 06:52:57

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and damp. Bellasnana I like your nails pattern. GrandMattie a very productive day for you yesterday. Karma that's very pretty.
Yesterday I went for a lie down after I'd taken the boys to school and fell asleep for over an hour! I obviously needed it. When I woke,I got all the things done on my list for yesterday. The boys were on good form again. They both wanted cuddles which is so lovely.
Today I'll do an hour in the school library. I have snow decals to put on the windows and Christmas books to put on display. Then home to clean the glass and windows and tidy the boys' room. That'll take most of the afternoon! The rest of the steak and sausage casserole for dinner later. Tomorrow I need to tackle the dining room. Have a good day all.

Bellasnana Wed 03-Dec-25 06:55:10

grandMattie actually a Christmas garland and a Christmas tree with baubles, just not in the usual Christmas colours.😄

GrannyGravy13 Wed 03-Dec-25 07:01:58

Good morning from a very dark S E Essex.

First thing I am having the stairs, landing and our bedroom carpets cleaned by our darling DiL (she started her own business when their youngest started school, the equipment and courses were so expensive, but she is now in profit 👏👏👏)

I may or may attempt to clear the Everest of ironing piles.

kittylester Wed 03-Dec-25 07:17:47

Good morning all from a dry but chilly North Leicestershire. I slept really well thankfully.

A usual Wednesday here - our cleaner will arrive at 9ish, DH is off to the gym and I am going to write the lists that I didn't write yesterday.

DH has just suggested fish and chips for tea - who am I to argue?

Have the best day possible everyone.

Ashcombe Wed 03-Dec-25 07:25:56

Good morning from a distinctly chilly Torbay.

I was still awake at 2:30 am after a very busy day so I got up and had some Weetabix and put my dressing gown on as I was both hungry and cold. Being in the cold theatre for several hours had not helped although the rehearsal did go better last night.

The carol singing session at church for the community tea went well and people seem to particularly enjoy my anecdotes, etc in between. I was given a lovely Christmas plant pot as a thank you. Our lay reader has arranged for me to take a group of singers to a care home on the 16th for a repeat performance.

I don’t know how some of you cope with being so busy every day as one day of it has wiped me out!

Lovely nails, Bellasnana and I like the fabric you’ve used, karmalady.

Happy hump day, everyone! 🦩💐🎄🥰🦩

monk08 Wed 03-Dec-25 07:31:28

Good morning all from a dark but dry Black country.
Toddlers today expect it will be busy again as it's getting near to party week, at this time of the year people who haven't been for a few months suddenly appear.
Will see how tired I am afterwards as regards to how I spend the rest of the day.
Karma love the top looks very cosy and the colour is my favourite.
grandMattie you've been very busy again wish I had half your energy.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Jaxjacky Wed 03-Dec-25 07:36:24

Morning from a dull S Hants, yesterday was glorious for a while until cloud and showers set in.
Cleaning and lists were completed - but will change!
Today internal windows to clean and floor washing, cards need writing and posting, wrapping a few presents for friends we are meeting for lunch on Sunday.
Pretty Bellas my friend has hers done regularly too.
Have your best day you can all.

Good morning from Shropshire.Dark and dry at the moment.

We were woken up early this morning by a call to ask if we could look after H so just about to set off over the border into North Wales.Poor boy has been unwell since Saturday, on the mend now I think but not well enough to go to school.

Will read everyone’s posts once we are at DD’s.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 1°C. It doesn't matter, for I won't be going out, I'm not picking up at all.😪

GM, a message from the pot to the kettle, don't overdo things. 😉
I am so impressed by your culinary prowess. You should have a stall at the Christmas Market. I bet you would do a roaring trade.
As for tins of pulp, I stopped using real fruit forty years ago. A splash of whisky in it and people assume it is made from expensive ingredients.😉

Due to me being out of action all week, we desperately needed shopping, so I went out early to M&S Food Hall.
Rightly so, I got glares from shoppers, due to my cough despite the fact my mouth was covered I sounded as if I smoked sixty Senior Service a day.
Back at my car, I had a dreadful coughing fit and an elderly gentleman came to see if I was OK. It was so kind of him.
It was then that I ditched the idea of a wander, I just wanted home.

I arrived home to find DH in an agitated state. The very expensive coffee maker, which I bought for his birthday was broken. It was entirely his fault and he compounded it by trying to fix it it himself, despite me telling him it was under guarantee.
Things went from bad to worse, when I found out that he had paid someone on the Internet for useless assistance. 😱
To my horror, he had used the main credit card.
For most of my career, I spent my time advising staff to be rigorous and not click on links, nor pay people they didn't know. I thought DH had more sense.
I wept at the thought of cancelling cards and all it involved. To make matters worse, I have mislaid my book of answers to security questions. I have turned the house upside down, but is no-where to be found. It is in the house somewhere.
I last used it, trying to sort GN on my phone, I am permanently locked out.🤬

I have to commend M&S Bank, they were outstanding and extremely patient, as they passed me to the appropriate department. I was so breathless and hardly able to speak, which didn't help.
I thought I had sorted it, but the landline has just rung. It is was company, he had paid yesterday, asking me to press 1 and they could help. He had given out our landline number. 🤬
In the last few weeks, my usually financially savvy DH has made
a few suspect decisions. He seems to be having memory problems and of course is in denial.

I won't bore you with details, but the other day, I managed to prevent him buying a new PC, before first checking with DS. His excuse, DS wouldn't help him. He was wasting money on parts he didn't need, but refused to listen.
No, DS and his family were ill in bed with the same virus, I have. 😪 How on earth could they help.
I'm finding it all very unsettling.

Today, I need to rest, but nothing has been done for over a week, the fridge and range need cleaned, jobs I hate. I shall also print out the Christmas card labels and wonder if I can trust DH not to go rogue.😉

Yesterday I was unsuccessful at ordering the turkey from the butchers, their answer machine was on permanently. I shall try again today.

My GP has given me the phone number of the colorectal surgeon's secretary, in order to chase up my CT scan results. That's also on my list, for my stomach is still troublesome.

Good to see you posting, Blossoming.
I always envy your nails, Bella. ♥️

Best wishes to all, who are struggling. X

Redcar Wed 03-Dec-25 07:43:19

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s dark but dry out, and a chilly 2 degrees. Yesterday was a fine sunny day until evening, when we had more rain.. I think today is supposed to be dry and bright. I’m thinking about going to seated yoga as I haven’t been for about 8 weeks.
grannygravy I hope that you and all others with back problems find some improvement today!
More parcels arrived yesterday, so I need to wrap them up, along with the other presents which are upstairs waiting to be wrapped. Fortunately most of them are in boxes so fairly easy to wrap.
DGD1 is singing at a Mencap Christmas concert in the cathedral this evening with her choir, a new experience for her, but a late night with school tomorrow.
I need to try to clear the dining table again today, it’s covered with papers and Christmas cards! More admin to do relating to my Godmother’s estate, so will do that first.
Thinking of all those who are struggling, and hoping that life becomes a little easier today.
Have the best day possible everyone.

Kalu Wed 03-Dec-25 07:49:15

Good morning all. A dry day forecast for Glasgow today which I will make the most of as heavy rain is on the cards for the next 7 days!

We had a clear sky last night with a bright full moon and many stars a welcoming change from so many heavy grey skies recently. The young woman who does my boiler service arrived promptly at 4.00pm, her last job of the day, she was ready for a coffee and a chat before heading home. No, I am not desperate for company, just being sociable. 😂
Waitrose and M&S food shop at some point later after which, a look in the garden centre for some winter planting for two large pots at the front porch.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

EkwaNimitee Wed 03-Dec-25 07:51:52

Good morning Mick and everyone from dark Carlisle, looks as though it is cloudy.
My mouth, which gradually improved yesterday, has become very painful again on getting up. It took ages again to eat a bowl of porridge and difficult to get my necessary pills down. I have to be in town this morning for a hair appointment so may consult the pharmacist to see if there's any treatment I can apply other than salt water. The pain is all over the roof of the mouth. I'm a moaning minnie with a low pain tolerance!

I think it will be a quiet day when I get back...I could make a start on the christmas cards. I could do the ironing.....

Have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

Your nails are amazing Bellasnana.

Beautiful top Karma.

My photo is the result of last night’s efforts at my yarn group. Almost five hundred handmade angels bagged and tagged ready for Saturday morning when we will tie them on railings, benches, and trees around our wee town centre to be taken home by anyone who wants one. This evening our tree will be put in place.

Today I must tackle the ironing and clean bathrooms.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

luluaugust Wed 03-Dec-25 08:07:39

Good morning from a bright W Kent where I am looking forward to seeing a good friend and catching up on all the comings and goings. Yesterday’s art group went well it seems we all get on and it’s very chatty. Arrived home to find Royal Mail had returned my own parcel to me! I had paid a lot of money for next day delivery and now have to sort it out. Things like this keep happening, very annoying.
Marydoll I do hope your steroids get going soon can’t believe how much you manage to do.
Best wishes
