What would you actually like for Christmas?

I keep being asked what I would like but I don’t really know! I don’t need ‘stuff’ and I don’t want tat. I wouldn’t mind some compost ready for spring though. How about anyone else?

Peace on earth and goodwill to all men (and women)! However, as I'm unlikely to get that and I know my request to not be bought presents will be ignored by the family except by OH, I'll settle for a really good moisturising body lotion. My skin is getting quite fragile, particularly on my lower arms so I am getting through body lotions by the bucketful. I'd also like some really good quality watercolour paper in a large size but tbh I don't really trust anyone else to buy that. It's my birthday on boxing day so I'll get more gifts then and I really don't need anything!

Just to see everyone as planned, and that they all keep well. This latest flu is a bummer.
Are you an artist foxie? Don't answer that, if it is intrusive.

We all make a list of things we’d like, but we don’t know what we’ll get until the day, it makes life easy knowing what everybody wants. Included on my list I’ve got a YSL handbag perfume set, two Art Deco era books, some F&M rarebit (I love it, so it’s a permanent feature on my Christmas list), some posh coffee, and a bag. If I get any of those I’ll be happy with my lot.

We keep the F&M pots Casdon.

A grandchild.

I know that would be a miracle……..😢

A wheelie carryon suitcase;
A “zero-ing” pair of kitchen scales;
Some cocoa butter moisturiser;
Halva…
Nothing really. Quite happy with a load of hugs.

Of course, I shall have none of the above..

A night out to see a good comedy set….followed by an extra large Gin and Tonic.
I’m in need of a good laugh at the moment 😫

My dearest son-in-law to be alive again. I know, it's not going to happen.

kittylester Tue 16-Dec-25 20:04:47

My DH and some children are good at thinking outside the box so what ever i get in the way of presents will be great.

My two sons to reconcile.

tanith Tue 16-Dec-25 20:15:19

Estranged Grandchildren to 'get over it' so we can all be together over Christmas it would make me so happy.

boheminan Tue 16-Dec-25 20:23:37

No one asks me and if they did, my mind would go blank.

What I'd secretly like is one of those (usually) round Christmassy type boxes of different sorts of cheeses in little wedges. I'm a cheese fanatic but couldn't bring myself to buy a box just for me, however I might go mad this year and pick up a box next time I do my 'big shop' - because I'm worth it!! [tch grin]

Yep...that sounds good to me.

For myself personally - it would be intangible things like "I am fed-up to back teeth working on getting rid of various health issues - so please wave a magic wand and remove them all at once, so that I can forget about them (not to mention saving money on medical bills)"

I'm not after any possessions of any description...nowt I really need or want on that front. A luxury bar of chocolate through the post I've just had = "Now who can I give that away too?".

I’m lucky that my family are loving and caring and we all get on well so really that’s enough for me. Anything else is the cherry on top.

theworriedwell Tue 16-Dec-25 22:07:38

I keep saying id like to have the car valeted, I can't bring myself to actually pay for it. No one takes me up on it

This week someone doing a three point turn hit my car which was parked outside my house. My husband reckons the repair garage the insurance company use will valet my car. Not exactly how I wanted it done but I suppose I should be careful what I wish for.

foxie48 Tue 16-Dec-25 22:31:37

Maremia I dabble with watercolour but I wouldn't call myself an artist. It's a really relaxing way to spend time and I like my own paintings enough to hang them on the walls in my house and if friends or family like something I've painted I'm pleased to let them have them. I do love to use decent paper though and it's expensive!
