US: ICE at work - an Insight. 😡
Nicola Sturgeons husband pleads guilty.
I do.
It’s always about dishing up food to friends/family. I don’t quite have enough to go round and I end up taking a little off some of the plates to make up a dinner or two, or sharing what is on my plate with someone opposite me at the table.
I had one such dream last night.
I know I’m stressed at present. Sadly my dreams have me agitated.
Do any of you experience similar?

Thank you, nanaK54.
I also have one of those "can't get home" dreams. I'm out somewhere on my bike (used to cycle a lot) and quite far from home. It's starting to get dark, and I have no lights and it's a long way to go. These dreams are very vivid - different places- vaguely related to real places. I can still remember them - and the worry- years later.
I used to have a recurring dream that I was blind but that I didn't want anyone to know, so I would dream I was at work trying to hide the fact that I couldn't see from my colleagues ... then I would get into my car and try to drive home. Totally ridiculous, of course, but I would be full of anxiety.
Then a friend suggested I tell myself I had a pair of magic specs in my pocket that I could put on and then see. Once I decided that, I never had the dream again!
However, it was replaced by the usual toilet anxiety dream which others have mentioned (always because I actually need to have a pee) and a dream where I am lost, usually in a strange town, where I can't find my hotel, or I find the hotel but can't find my room.
These dreams are always scary and anxious, and I believe they are related to low blood sugar which can cause wobbly anxious feelings. I now eat a small supper at bedtime which helps (I am not diabetic)
Last night I wasn’t allowed to leave a shop unless I purchased a trinket box. It was square, blue enameled with silver stars on the top. I had no money and my credit card was grey, life like and seriouslynibbled….I woke up then .
It is still very vivid.
Oh, just the usual.
Walking down the street, look down, and realise I'm naked.
Teeth falling out.
In a lift that is falling down rapidly.
A couple of terrorist dreams.
Mine is where I’m being chased and I run into a house where I can lock one door, but then I have to rush to lock another door and they arrive at the door at the same time and I’m forcing the door to close against them so I can lock them out. Phew! Not sure what it means exactly. Plus I also have the toilet ones sometimes.
Being in city I should know, usually Edinburgh, but which is suddenly not familiar at all. I then struggle to get home. Sometimes I end up at a bus stop or station, totally exhausted, and with nothing going anywhere near home and not knowing what to do.
The last week I have been waking up from horrible dreams worrying about chemo which my son is starting after Christmas. I dream that the unit is closed when we get there, that staff are all off sick and other horrible things. I am pretty much OK in the day, it’s just when I go to sleep.
I don’t often dream but when I do it’s always, without fail, me alone and lost in a strange place unable to find my way back. I ask people to help but no one can help. It’s very real and always upsetting.
Primrose I hope things go well for your son’s chemo. I understand as my daughter went through it too. Best wishes
Another can't get home dreamer here. My phone won't work. I find a phone box and it's broke. I also dream that I've lost my handbag contaimy purse and bank cards
I am on supply at the school where I used to teach. They have had so many new buildings that I can’t find the class I am supposed to be teaching. I keep wandering around getting more and more stressed.
I used to get mine more when I was a lot lot younger, maybe early teens. I was on a deserted beach ,on a sort of inlet, and the water was surrounding me from all sides. I felt completely overwhelmed and swallowed up. I always had anxiety, maybe that was the start of it, I dont know.
First best wishes to Primrose's son.
I have been having recurring 'teaching ' dreams. I used to be special needs teacher in a college in the 90s. In my dream I'm in a strange building, new students with no information about them, no resources and no lesson plan!
I used to dream about finals at university- I'd walk in confidently turn over the paper and find it was all about agriculture. I studied history.
I haven’t had it for a while now, but the Exam Nightmare!
It’s always German literature, and not only have I not read any of the books, I don’t even know what they are!
Why it’s always German I don’t know - I studied 2 other languages at that stage and got the same A level grade for all of them.
Then there’s the Christmas shopping one - it’s around 4 pm on. Christmas Eve, and I’ve forgotten to buy a tree, or any presents, or anything.
I’m pretty sure what this one dates from - as fairly newly marrieds living in Oman, through my job we got last minute 10% standby tickets home - on the 23rd! Weren’t sure we’d be able to get standby seats but did, so a surprise for our U.K. families!
So I had just one day to go and buy presents for everybody.
I also have the dirty toilet dream fairly regularly and have for years. Often wondered what on earth it means?!
Also the packing one, or exam coming up and haven’t done any revision.

I get those dreams too, the can’t find the way home ones, and the lost or stolen handbag and empty purse. Also the looking for a loo dream! Eventually find one but it’s so indescribably dirty and awful as to be unusable or it’s clean and fine to use but no door on it and people passing by, or it appears to be a large and clean public loos but on close inspection turns out to be only showers that are guarded by staff who charge money to use it.😬
Then there are the running and hiding from enemies, trying to break into stranger’s homes so they won’t find me.
A recurring dream where a steep street of terraced houses ends in a four foot wall or thereabouts behind which a black and menacing body of water sloshes to and fro in the moonlight. It feels as if this is in the North somewhere 🤔
Oh and the driving a car like a maniac and just missing various obstacles and other cars, no brakes!
Then there’s the one where I’m waiting for a bus, it rolls up and my shopping bag immediately spills all its contents and they won’t fit back in and the bus conductor (!) says they can’t wait for me.
All probably standard sort of worry dreams.
I think the dream about a steep street and dark water is likely to be something seen on tv.
I’m another toilet nightmarer, always filthy, over flowing, no doors, what on earth does it mean??
That we need to get up and go to the loo? Our brain stopping us from doing the naughty deed in bed?
Mine are taking GC out and losing them. The losing situation changes but not the sheer panic I feel on waking up thinking it's real. As a child I would dream I was a rabbit hopping faster and faster but getting nowhere.
I used to have
1) being chased so terrified dream ended or changed just as I was cowering in fear of being caught..... always in a particular part of London where I once lived.....
2) the "trying to keep up" dream so having to get to an airport so need to go uphill but it is icy and slippery ; lots if sets of double doors to get through; destination always has more obstacles to reach etc etc
I had a really weird one the other day but I can't remember it.
Usually am expecting guests imminently and have no food in the house or am still in my PJs, but instead of getting anything done I find myself doing something like a jigsaw puzzle or watching the telly whilst at the same time worrying sick about the situation.
Primrose I hope all goes well for your son in the NY.
An anxious time indeed for you all. x
