Do you have a recurring ‘worry’ dream?

I do.

It’s always about dishing up food to friends/family. I don’t quite have enough to go round and I end up taking a little off some of the plates to make up a dinner or two, or sharing what is on my plate with someone opposite me at the table.

I had one such dream last night.
I know I’m stressed at present. Sadly my dreams have me agitated.

Do any of you experience similar?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 20-Dec-25 21:16:13

Oh yes, mine are always toilet related.

No door, no seat, no paper or really dirty.

Grandmabatty Sat 20-Dec-25 21:19:26

Teaching a class who won't do as they're told, an inspector appears and I don't know any of the children and don't have any resources.

Allira Sat 20-Dec-25 21:19:54

Yes. I'm somewhere I don't know, perhaps a hotel that looks like an airport, knowing I have to be somewhere else important. I'm scruffy and in need of a shower and can't find the lift to get to back to my room, everyone else is somewhere in the foyer, outside, all ready to go.

This is something fairly new, it makes a change from the one when you can't find a loo anywhere and when you do, it's next to a footpath by a beach and has no door.

I also gave panic packing dreams. Where I have little time to pack cases, too many items too little time or space.

Galaxy Sat 20-Dec-25 21:30:09

A level.panic dream. Whatever time if year I dream it is reflected in the dream. So if it is May, it will be oh my god my exams are a few weeks time and I haven't done any work.

Similar to Allira. I’m heading to a hotel that I really know and have used before. Every entrance does not get me to the reception..sometimes I find a way in but can’t find a lift to my room. I’m in a panic because family are waiting for me and I will be late!

Chocolatelovinggran Sat 20-Dec-25 21:41:53

Mine is travel related - many variations on a theme of being late for a train/ boat/ plane and/or having the wrong ticket, a lost ticket... I'm sure a dream analyst would be able to explain what it's all about!

Farmor15 Sat 20-Dec-25 21:43:05

I have a few of these- one is I'm parking car and reversing slowly, but car won't stop, no matter how hard I press the brake pedal. However, I wake up before I hit anything.
I'm sure it's to do with fear of losing control.

SueDonim Sat 20-Dec-25 21:51:07

I get the car brakes not working dream; usually, it’s something old-fashioned that I’m driving, like a massive Daimler.

Then there’s the aeroplane crash I witness but no one else can see it. Also, a baby dream, either a huge, adult-sized newborn baby that can do nothing for itself, or a tiny little 5lb baby that can walk/talk and so on.

nanaK54 Sat 20-Dec-25 21:58:24

Mine is that I can't get home, with lots of variations on that same theme

Yep! That’s my dream as well.

Also being chased by baddies. I hide and they never catch me.
Phew!😂

I have a relative who is exactly the same as you.

Mine is, I cant work out why I am not going to work[where I worked 40 years ago]. Shouldnt I be going? And how am I going to survive if I dont have an income?

LadyGaGa Sat 20-Dec-25 22:14:24

Mine is getting lost. Again with lots of variations. Last night I was staying in a hotel with work colleagues and couldn’t find the way to my room, or to meetings. I can never seem to remember how to use my phone to ring or text - no matter how hard I try. The other night I dreamt I couldn’t find my table in a huge restaurant where my family were eating. Again I couldn’t open my phone. In my dream I never tell anyone, so I pretend I’m ok.

Ditto. Or I have forgotten where home is...my guess is these are really common x

And yes, brakes fail.
It has always been ok except for once. I went down an incline I know, brakes failed, and I shot stright out into oncoming traffic. Then I woke up!

Gingster Sat 20-Dec-25 22:23:51

I’m usually in a big city and have lost a grandchild . No one will help and I’m dashing hither and thither.

I can usually wake myself up from a bad dream.

agnurse Sat 20-Dec-25 22:25:09

I have a few:

1. Doing something for work and realizing I'm naked. I am a nursing instructor so that makes this even worse!

2. Bad guys of some description being in the house and needing to get away from them.

3. Failing an exam or doing something seriously wrong at work (e.g. forgetting to give a medication or not accomplishing a task).

dragonfly46 Sat 20-Dec-25 22:26:53

Mine is not being able to find my way home or being frightened but not able to scream.

Gingster Sat 20-Dec-25 22:30:52

Falling asleep whilst driving.

One I had a couple of nights ago …..
a grandson of a stranger asked if I would cut his hair, of course I said , having no idea where to start.
It looked terrible but I just kept on cutting chunks off. The grandparents were waiting for him but I couldn’t let them see him..
I woke myself up in a sweat. 😢

Curlywhirly Sat 20-Dec-25 22:36:53

I'm driving a car which is far too big for me; I can't reach the pedals or see over the steering wheel and I'm trying to stop it, but just can't. I presume it means that I'm feeling there's something in my life that I can't control 😵‍💫
My other recurring dream is similar to others on this thread - needing the toilet, no door, no seat, no toilet! No idea what that means 😲

crazyH Sat 20-Dec-25 22:37:21

I’m always hiding from someone who is chasing me….

Grannybags Sat 20-Dec-25 22:39:27

Another toilet one for me. Always overflowing. The floor is so awful I have to hold my trousers up out of the filth while I tiptoe about trying to find one I can go in.

I don’t wake up needing to go so I don’t know what that’s all about!

Wyllow3 Sat 20-Dec-25 22:48:24

Oh another where I have to complete tasks in a quite RL current type of situation or get out of one, but I can't see to do them, a sort of on/off blindness.

I think it's partly to do with refusing to see things for what they are because then I'd have to act.

Grannmarie Sat 20-Dec-25 22:53:55

I still remember one of my earliest nightmares. It was around the time of the original Dr Who and the Daleks, maybe mid sixties? We used to watch Dr Who at our Nanna's house on a Saturday when we visited.
In the dream, my Nanna had sent my younger brother and me a message (errand) to the local shop which was across a road. We would be about 8 and 9 ? We saw the Daleks coming down this road, screaming ' Exterminate! Exterminate!' and we were terrified. I told my brother we had to lie down and pretend that we were already dead...that's when I woke up. I've never forgotten that fear.

Like Grandmabatty, I also have anxiety dreams about teaching situations. I retired in 2012 although I did supply teaching on request until Covid. Still get the occasional one!

I had a nice dream about DH last week. (He died in March). He was standing in front of me, wearing a new jacket. I was telling him that he looked good in it, just touching his shoulders and adjusting it slightly. He gave me a wee kiss and a cuddle and was gone...it was almost like a wee visit, I felt comforted because I'm finding this Christmas hard without him.

I hope things settle down for you, FGT, andyouget some restful sleep. Thinking of you and Himself. 💕🙏
