I have a new tablet and will message tomorrow.

So lovely to see you posting again dear soop. I know what you mean about getting to grips with your new tablet, I updated mine last week and everything is in different places. It’s driving me mad! And the predictive text just types nonsense. (Nothing to do with my fat fingers of course!)
Good that you have so many carers to help you with daily life, and that you have effective pain relief.
Looking forward to seeing you in the kitchen again soon.
💕

So good to have you back amongst us, dear soop.

TillyTrotter Tue 30-Dec-25 19:53:11

Dear soop everyone is so concerned that you have not been able to be in your kitchen so it’s a wonderful surprise to hear you are using a new gadget and can now keep in touch.
Your care schedule is clearly working well for you - and long may it do so.
❤️ to you and mr soop .

It's wonderful to hear from you Soop, you sound very positive and upbeat! You'll soon get the hang of your new tablet and you'll know a big difference when you can operate it on your lap in your cosy comfortable chair. Wishing you and your amazing Mr Soop all the very best when you pop that cork! 🥂

Hello Soop. Welcome back.
Does your shiny new device have a voice to text facility?
Ask your learned son.
Worth trying if it does.
Just might be a labour saving option.
Either way we all welcome whatever however write.

welbeck Tue 30-Dec-25 22:34:53

however you write.
Is wot I wrote.
But my device thinks it knows better...sigh

Hello everyone, I am so pleased you are back Soop as everyone says. I have been a lurker on your kitchen thread for a long time and the morning thread but said I’m going to join in for the New Year. Two lovely threads that really cheer me up and I look forward to reading what ‘us grans’ get up to

Bellanonna Wed 31-Dec-25 11:41:17

Brilliant news that you’re back in your own kitchen dear Soop. I don’t post on here but I often look for news of you. Three pages on my iPad, wishing you well, and welcoming you back. Testament to how much you’ve been missed and how much you’re loved!

Pittcity Wed 31-Dec-25 11:57:02

Welcome back Soop.

Charleygirl5 Wed 31-Dec-25 12:06:54

What a really pleasant surprise "seeing" you back-you have been greatly missed.

I do hope you can find space for food between the tablets. It sounds as though you are being well cared for.

It will be colder in your neck of the woods as you are so close to the sea.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

I had not realised how important you lovely lot are to my sense of well being. Having read through your wonderful welcome back message I am determined to visit our kitchen daily. Right now I am perched on the computer stool, in time, with practice, I hope to be competent enough to use my smart tablet. Thing is, I try to use it in landscape mode but the tablet won't oblige. I do not require apps...and the machine thinks otherwise and keeps interrupting and interfering in between every word I type. In short...it is one buggeration after another. tchconfused.

I imagine that many of you will stay awake late enough to greet the New Year. I trust that 2026 will be kind to you and those you love. Good health is the gift that tops my list. That and kindness towards our fellow men and all innocent creatures. At this time of the year, many t.v. advertisements dealing with cruelty to animals bring tears to my eyes.

As we raise a glass of cheer this evening I will be thinking of you all. You are VERY special people.

Farewell dear Kitcheners. I shall return tomorrow.

Naughtyneine Wed 31-Dec-25 15:33:10

Oh Soop... That's made my New Year seeing you back posting and in good spirits too. Wishing you and Mr Soop a happy peaceful New Year. Xxx

kittylester Wed 31-Dec-25 18:15:01

soop hearing from you and reading your lovely posts has made me almost tearful. Thank you for coping with the buggerations involved in doing it.

Baggs Wed 31-Dec-25 18:38:10

Hello, dear soop. I'm so glad you are managing topost again. I'm sure your son will help you with the proper set up of your tablet. Do persevere as it will be a lot easier than perching on a stool.

Meantime, one can't help but be impressed by your determination to get onto Gransnet again. I know how much you've missed it as well as how difficult it has been.

Happy New Year when it comes to all the you and all the granspals 🎉

Nannytopsy Wed 31-Dec-25 19:30:24

Happy New Year to all Kitcheners, particularly the soops. Our guests will arrive imminently, so I must go.
