Thank you all

kittylester Fri 13-Feb-26 10:50:11

Sorry, someone came to the door.

I didn't realise I was so concerned but I keep realising that I have, in effect, been given the all clear and smiling to myself.

Good to hear your results too, dragonfly. Hope the tummy is better.

Thank you all for your support. The kitchen is brilliant.

Blossoming Fri 13-Feb-26 13:04:07

Wonderful news Kitty. I wasn’t allowed pierced ears. By the time I was old enough to decide for myself I was no longer interested!

brook2704 Fri 13-Feb-26 17:06:29

That’s really fantastic news Kitty so pleased for you, and for you too dragonfly
A snowy day here, but DH cleared the car this morning and we went off to the gym for a couple of classes. After that I walked into town by the river, enjoyed a warming cappuccino at my favourite cafe and then a quick trip to M&S as I had a Sparks discount offer for 20% off jeans. Despite trying various brands the M&S jeans seem to fit me best. It’s a quick and easy pasta dish for dinner and then finding something on the TV to watch
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x

Hi, it has been grey and miserable here all day.

Went to the gym this morning, had a cup of tea and natter afterwards.

DD and her boys popped in after school, always lovely to have a catch up and cuddle with the GS’s.

Chinese takeaway later this evening as we cannot be bothered to get changed and go out anywhere for dinner.

Thinking of all our friends in the quiet corner 🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Fri 13-Feb-26 18:25:23

Very pretty in the sun brook, a little sun here before grey and rain arrived.
Tesco delivered earlier, MrJ is just in from a pub catch up.
I hope Yia and SueD are ok, always thinking of soop and FGTBaggs too.

SueDonim Fri 13-Feb-26 19:21:20

Thank you for that, Jax, v kind of you. I’ve had a busy week, trying to keep Dh comfortable. It’s been a roller coaster from one day to the next, not knowing what to expect. A very difficult morning today but it’s under control now.

I managed to fit in GD’s dancing on Wednesday and spent yesterday afternoon in the garden. It was cold but dry so I hauled out lots of last year’s dead stuff, pruned and planted spring bulbs - better late than never! Today has been very sunny, which has been an absolute delight.

I also had to find a plumber as we had another leak under the sink, like that which caused our flood two years ago. Thankfully we could isolate this very quickly so no damage done. The plumber confirmed that, as we’d thought, it was a poor design so we’ve agreed for him to do a proper job on it and rejig the entire thing.

Lovely news from Kitty, what a relief. Sending thoughts and love to all, including the FGTs. Xxx

Good evening, lovely Kitchen people.🥰

Beautiful photo, brook, winter wonderland! It's been very cold and frosty here but no snow yet.

Grandmabatty, hope you all enjoyed your family lunch and catch up.

GrannyGravy, enjoy your Chinese takeaway, my favourite!

Good to see you hulahoop, hope you and yours are doing ok.

I need a reliable plumber, SueD, if we were closer I'd be asking you for his number! Hope your DH is more comfortable now, glad you managed to spend some time in your garden.

Hope YiaYia, Doodle, GrandmaC47 and all in the quiet corner are cosy and comfy this bitter cold evening. Special thoughts and prayers to our Soops and FGTs.

I'm home now from my usual Friday afternoon with the Wee Boy, we enjoyed our catch up time and our pizzas, then he was off to football training with his Daddy, wrapped up like a wee Eskimo, football strip over his joggers and hoody, woolly gloves and hat! They play outside in all weather, it was 2 degrees when I left them.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Friday evening and a good night's sleep.
TOYA, NNGB

👋 Grannmarie still here staying quiet and warm. I read most days but seldom have anything to report 😀.
Thinking, as always of those of you with worries and cares, especially Soop and the fgts.
If the weather would improve it might lift my mood 🫰

A quiet kitchen! Are you all feeling sad about the England rugby match?
We had seen the forecast so made the most of a beautiful day by going up to Lowestoft. DH’s father retired there and we had lots of holidays on the beach. There has been a lot of civic improvement on the seafront - good to see. We had a couple of walks, fish and chips on a sea front bench, then home for the rugby. 😢
A lovely day! Rain due tomorrow again.
Love to everyone in the kitchen.

Grandmabatty Sat 14-Feb-26 20:08:04

Nannytopsy, the opposite from this scot! 😀
I've had a quiet day. Breakfast with a pal then home to potter. It's been so cold all day that I've hunkered down and stayed warm. I'm watching tv and about to remake the bed. Then a hot toddy before bed. Enjoy your evening

GrannyGravy13 Sat 14-Feb-26 20:44:33

We have The Imp here for a sleepover, his Mum (DD) has a home full of 11 yr olds.

The best team won the rugby 👏

Shocked at who was conkers on The Masked Singer

Night Night 🙋‍♀️

Had a lovely morning at a spa with my two DDs, then lunch together. Their DHs looked after the DGDs. This afternoon we drove along to Hastings, along with hundreds of others who also decided to make the most of a rare sunny day! The DGDs spent loads of money in the arcade on the seafront.

I walked quite a long way on one walking stick so no doubt my back will be aching more tomorrow. I’ll try out the indoor pool at the house we’re renting tomorrow.

I had a disturbed night last night so will be going to bed soon. Best wishes to those in the quiet corner, and those with worries of any kind.

Night night, sleep well everyone.

Like Grandmabatty as a Scot very happy with the rugby result! Lots of posters from different areas of UK are on this thread. It’s just a game.

brook2704 Sat 14-Feb-26 21:46:29

We didn’t watch the rugby here as DD2 and the DGC arrived mid afternoon and have only just left - a bit exhausted now but we’ve had a lovely afternoon and evening.
Congratulations to the Scottish rugby team 👏
It’s been really cold all day here, the snow hasn’t melted and there’s more in the forecast 🥶
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x

I am English, still think the best team on the day won 👏

Scotland always play better against England than against anyone else!
