Hello again! I woke about an hour ago after three hours sleep, now twiddling my thumbs and getting a headache from counting sheep.
I’ve done my Wordle and tried reading my book but I’m getting bored with myself.
We had lashing rain yesterday evening, hammering against the windows while I was fiddling around in my craft room. I half expected thunder it was so stormy.
Hoping for sunshine today……
Hope no one else awakens tonight x

Susan56 Mon 16-Feb-26 03:11:21

I have been awake since just after 12 after a couple of hours sleep. Finally have given in and come down for a cup of tea.
Lots going round in my head, everything seems 10x worse at 3am.

JamesandJon33 Mon 16-Feb-26 03:37:37

Morning. Woke about an hour ago… dreaming about counting !!!
Read for a while , so think I’ll try to sleep soon.

LaCrepescule Mon 16-Feb-26 03:41:14

Oh brilliant thread!
Awake since 1.30am (needed the loo.)
On my phone ever since. Any hope of dropping off now? Doubt it because I normally wake at 5sm anyway. Luckily today doesn’t involve anything social because I won’t be looking my best!
Cup of tea sounds like a good idea Susan56 😊 Hope your mind will still.

grandMattie Mon 16-Feb-26 04:37:21

Good morning! Although rather ragged, I have managed a few 💤 last night. Been awake for a couple of hours, trying to persuade myself to go back to sleep.
It was wet yesterday, but we had a couple of sunny intervals, and the rain wasn’t as heavy as I expected. May today be dryish!
Yes, susan, everything is far worse in the dark hours, mostly because you have time to worry!
Hope you are all tucked up and asleep - or at least had a reasonable night.

Nannytopsy Mon 16-Feb-26 05:15:02

Morning! I have been awake since 4, and just can’t quieten my mind. There are loads to of things to be done this week, including a PCC meeting here tonight. The dining room needs serious work before then, including hanging new curtains!
We had quite a lot of snow yesterday but it was always pretty wet and soon melted away when it turned to rain. More rain today I expect.
I hope you have all managed to doze off again.

LaCrepescule Mon 16-Feb-26 07:36:18

Managed to get a coupe of hours when I dropped off about 5am. Feel surprisingly refreshed but will be dead on my feet later. Really vivid dreams this morning.
Hope all my fellow insomniacs have a good day.

Susan56 Mon 16-Feb-26 07:58:29

Thank you LaCrepescule and grandmattie.I managed a couple more hours sleep.

grandMattie Tue 17-Feb-26 04:32:50

Hi. Hope your PCC meeting went well, topsy. The one I was in, in Kent, used to take forever with different factions arguing. DH was treasurer and knew what we could afford and would try to stop the many flights of fancy. Here in Bristol, the meetings are brief, talk is mostly enlightenment, no arguments, all done in an hour. Such a difference.
I was very tired last night and was asleep by 10pm. Sleep a bit erratic, but I can’t complain about 6 hours.
Hope you are all tucked up (snoring) and relaxed , ready to face today.
Make sure you have lots of pancakes!🥞

Been drifting in and out of sleep for a couple of hours. Not too bad overall although I’ve not woken feeling refreshed from sleep for over forty years since diagnosis with CFS then fibromyalgia, both play havoc with sleep patterns and a sense of post sleep wellbeing. A decent day is forecast, wonderful, it makes such a difference not to have grey skies. We’re meeting our grandson and his parents this morning, a real treat as their lives are more than busy. I plan to include chips in my lunch for another treat and there will be pancakes for tea. A healthy food day ? Probably not, nice though 😂. Wishing you all well.

JamesandJon33 Tue 17-Feb-26 06:10:26

Gosh! 8 and. a half hours with just one lo visit. Wonder why ?

Moth62 Tue 17-Feb-26 06:48:50

I was fully awake at three this morning and looked for this thread, but couldn’t find it! Dropped off eventually, but up early (for me nowadays) because we have builders in again today. I could have done with a good night’s sleep, but hey ho. hmm

BlueBelle Tue 17-Feb-26 06:49:51

Wow that’s a record JandJ I ve managed 51/2 so more than happy with that

The “active” thingy wasn’t working. If you go on to threads “I’m on’, you an then post…

Moth62 Tue 17-Feb-26 07:01:13

Ah, right. Thank you. I didn’t think of that, but I’ve no doubt I shall be needing it again in the near future! smile

JamesandJon33 Wed 18-Feb-26 02:36:20

Record broken . I been awake since just on 1 o’clock. Hey ho. Swings and roundabouts

Georgesgran Wed 18-Feb-26 02:47:41

I’m just off to bed now.
Night night.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 18-Feb-26 03:02:30

Wide awake since 2.30. Goodness knows why. I had a run of good nights and now back to this.

I shall read and hopefully fall asleep.

SORES Wed 18-Feb-26 03:29:42

wide awake with sore eyes from readung in a dimmed light

also hungry! cannot think what I can have to eat which
is ready, digestible, doesn’t involve use of the microwave
as this will wake the neighbourhood and easy to clean my
teeth after, not cheese, meat, or fruit
I’m out of Ovaltine which usually works.

What does everyone else have to eat inthe early hours

grandMattie Wed 18-Feb-26 05:04:18

Sweet dreams, georgesgran. Grapes sores?
Hunger is not something that wakes me up, nor my bladder nor, mercifully, pain. I think it’s what my mother used to call “ill will” on the part of my body or brain 😆
Back to my usual napping through the night. I hope I manage to get through the day as it’s extra busy with the ashing in church this evening - I don’t normally go out at night as I’m too tired.

Gymstagran Wed 18-Feb-26 05:21:08

Awake at 5 , I'm going to sleep later at night and I'm getting 5 hours sleep. Much better for me

BlueBelle Wed 18-Feb-26 05:32:30

Gymsragran that’s exactly how it works for me I find if I go to bed between 11 and 12 I go through to 5 ish and miss that awful 3 am wake up.
I think the more you do like eating or drinking in the night the more awake you get and your body then expects food or a snack at that time, so begins to wake for it.
Have a good day everyone

Georgesgran Wed 18-Feb-26 07:19:22

Four and a half hours solid - happy with that. I take a cup of tea and a biscuit and have them in bed, before I settle down.

Onwards and upwards now.

Doodledog Wed 18-Feb-26 07:36:04

I scraped five hours. I thought I would sleep well, as I had a stressful day yesterday and a lot of round in the evening, but I took a while to nod off then woke at 5.45 and couldn’t get back. Annoying, but could be worse I suppose.

Pantglas2 Thu 19-Feb-26 04:24:31

👋 am I the only one here? Typical! I have one bad night every month and it seems to happen mid month too - I wonder if it’s the lunar cycle?

Glad you’re all 😴 - I’ll hold the fort…🫡
