My reading of news articles is that the focus in America is on their citizens, Clinton, Trump and more.
Our press is interested in AMW, encouraged no doubt by the bare faced lies it’s increasingly clear he told about his involvement with Epstein’s. Add to this the information about Sara Ferguson and Epstein, including her taking their 19 and 20 year old daughters to visit him within days of his release from a prison sentence for sexual offences against a 14 year old girl.
Mandelson - now likely to be investigated for offences in public officee, linked to Epstein. Very serious for Mandelson and for beleaguered Keir Starmer

I agree that only coming up with Mandelson, Andrew, and Clinton, is by no means satisfactory when other high profile men were obviously entering the revolving doors of Epstein’s murky world. Trump most definitely and several of his cronies I imagine,not to mention a few corporate giants I would think.
Redactions should not have been permitted unless, as already said it mentions the victims.

It’s the British media who are crawling through the documentation and revealing new information about Andrew and Mandelson. That’s why it’s in our headlines, and we are seeing the Live feeds on our news channels about them, our journalists are responsible. If you look at the US media it’s clear that they are perusing other avenues, they aren’t making an example of them in particular.

I think it is to the credit of the British media that everything that is in the public arena about these two is being revealed. If there are any others from here involved no doubt that will be discovered too.

That’s why I said earlier that I think the issues are much greater for the US, their journalists are much more fearful of lawsuits, and can’t act until they have absolutely everything available to back them up - even though there are some huge names there deep in this. Imagine ploughing through 3 million pages.

Now isn’t the time to use what’s happened with Mandelson to try to bring down the government here. The only winner in that would be Reform. And we mustn’t use personal dislike of certain people to cloud our judgement. Which is very two faced of me given that I’ve always wanted this to bring down Trump.

Would Mandelson have been appointed if Trump hadn’t regained the presidency? I, personally don’t think he would have been but with Trump you have to fight fire with fire and Mandelson was someone who had experience of the man. Things are happening because of his presidency that wouldn’t normally happen. Again I know I’m biased as a Labour supporter, though but I’m trying not to be.

On channel 4 News Andrew Lownie historian and author said a lot of people went to the Queen and told her about Andrew’s dealings with dictators other dodgy people and about Epstein but she sent them away. She must have known what was happening or she wouldn't have paid the £12 million. Charles and William knew too, but kept it secret it's the Palace way of dealing with things they want kept hidden.

The only way is for people to call for an investigation and the media continues to report, the government to then call for the Met to properly investigate Andrew.

The Rest is Politics US latest podcast is interesting. Scaramucci definitely thinks Epstein had links with Russia and Trump is mentioned over 1,000 times in the latest dump of files. If he was in someway connected to Russia it would explain a lot about how he deals with Putin, wouldn't it? Definitely worth a listen even without the Russian connection, Powerful men doing nasty things to underage women and it seems no one is going to be punished? Says all you need to know about how the "Elites" are protected in the US. This is not going away just yet!

I think Starmer is reacting fine in not hesitating, Mandelson has no right to be in the H of Lords, he left the party before he was sacked, not an ounce of sympathy left after its all come out.
It seemed a good appointment at the time ie fire to fight fire, but no one in the Labour Party has tried to protect him once this stuff started coming out.

It's good that UK journalists are investigating and maybe have more freedom to do so, it maybe that our journalists uncover some "interesting" information about leading US figures in their investigations.

You need to read the Andrew Lownie book Smileless2012. The Queen knew of some of their dealings, otherwise Virginia Guiffre would not have been paid, but I think Charles has been informed of much more subsequently. Lownie’s book has proven remarkably accurate in the things said about Andrew and Sarah that have subsequently come out in these files.

I’ve always been convinced that Putin has some sort of hold over Trump. Going back a long time to when he used to be involved in those beauty pageants.

The historian and author Andrew Lownie did research for his book about Andrew and Sarah, spoke to diplomats who came forward with information, which the queen didnt want to know about. There is a lot of daming evidence out there, millions more to yet uncover. So the late queen and Charles knew what was going on.

It seems very obvious. Can only assume these men were drunk or high when they allowed these pictures to be taken! Not a very edifying sight.

Once the remainder are released and the initial fuss dies down I suspect that it will be business as usual and very little will change.

It would be interesting to see who made one visit and then stayed clear though I suppose Epstein was able to assess the weaker characters.

There may well be a rise in the divorce rate for some but some may demand an increase in their clothing allowance.

It seems Sarah Ferguson was talking to a company regarding a 'tell all' scenario. Her involvement with Epstein was deplorable even before reading that she took her daughters to see him after his release from prison for child sex offences. What was she thinking? Does she even think? It can only be hoped that no broadcaster will consider listening to her or paying money for her squalid revelations - although given the current news it seems depravity is the topic that sells newspapers.

Starmer showed extremely poor judgement in appointing Peter Mandelson in the first place, and horrified many people who were aware of his past history. His decision and his responsibility.
The procedure for stripping him of his title should be set in train immediately because it seems unlikely he will relinquish it readily. apparently he appears to think he will be retained in an advisory capacity by the Labour party. I gather that the American press is focused far more on American involvement; it is the British press which is extracting the maximum coverage of Andrew, and more recently, Mandelson.
