Thank you OldFrill. Yes, I'll do that this morning. I'm sure it probably is in my name now I've thought about it as I received unsolicited letters inquiring if I had considered selling the property.

Just call in to your village solicitor and have a chat to the receptionist, or whoever is there, they are normally very helpful and will probably give you general advice as to how to proceed together with their charges for doing the legal work for you (they'll just deduct it from the end sale).

If you have the Land Registry Certificate you don't need the deeds. The property on the Land Registry should have been put in your name when you inherited, if not you need the probate document (and possibly your father's will) to do it. Deeds can be useful for information purposes but no longer needed to show ownership if the property is registered.

I was left the property by my parents. My DF bought it in 1953 so a long time ago. I have had tenants but now want to sell but cannot find the Deeds but do have the Land Registry Certificate. We have a solicitor's office in the village. I'm not very good technically. Do you think if I asked them they would be able to find it somewhere. Obviously I'd pay for the service. Any ideas please.
