Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and wet. Marydoll what a terrible time your dil is having. My best wishes to you all.
Yesterday I didn't make it to the school library in the morning. I was on a go slow! I did potter about before meeting art friends for lunch. We had a lovely lunch and blethered for four hours. At a table nearby was someone I recognised i thought. I went over and I was right. She is a lovely lady who was a secretary at the school I taught at. It was nice to see her.
I was still full later so just had soup for dinner. Last night I was up about 4 times which I blame on the coffee I had at lunchtime. Today will be a quiet day, mainly to let my feet, legs and hips recover from 4 hours sitting on a hard chair. Lots of moving about gently in the house. Dinner will probably be macaroni cheese, baked in the oven. Have a good day all.

A late good morning from a grey and rainy Kent.

From the window I can see the catkins on the hazel - a sure sign that Spring is around the corner.

Today I will be babysitting for DGS. It is very tiring but also a privilege. I'm thankful that I can cope with the physical demands of looking after a toddler.

Wishing all happiness and strength today.

Good morning from a windy NE with a forecast for more rain.
I spent yesterday in my pyjamas and resting in bed after severe stomach pain during the night.
Sister didn't visit as she had to wait for a delivery, a meat order from a farm shop. She will come today and I will get some food shopping.
Thinking of Marydoll's DIL, I am another who has had this operation so understand what she is going through.

Good morning from Shropshire.Heavy rain and blustery at the moment.

Yesterday’s physio was rubbish. He wasn’t a physio but a first contact? He treated me as though I was a 20 year old with a sports injury and I felt rough all day afterwards🙄We had a nice few hours with DGD.The principal of the dance school came to talk to me saying they have had their eye on her and would like her to join a couple more classes. It is a great compliment but not for me to decide.DD will go and speak to her at some point.

I didn’t wake up until 9 this morning.I have been very stressed about mum’s house but I think now we have made a plan of action I feel more relaxed.

Marydoll, your poor daughter in law has had such a terrible time.I hope her recovery goes well from now on🙏🏻Thinking of you all.x

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. The pressure dropped and the heating didn’t come on this morning. Ok now. I don’t know why it drops, I didn’t have this problem before the combi boiler and I need ch, I’m the last road in the sand dunes facing the Irish Sea!

Good and busy day yesterday. The lunchtime recital was impressive, kicked off by an eight year old playing Bach on the cello😳 A bit of necessary shopping and in the evening to the opera co rehearsal where I am dithering between first and second soprano. First can be too high and second too low…
Afterwards for our usual get together at the local wine bar and a good time was had be all. Late home.

Housework and card making today. Thoughts to all poorlies 🌺

Good morning from Stockport.
Very late this morning as after a bad night I slept in and still feel very grumpy.
Sainsbury’s here soon so must make an effort.

My friend at yesterday’s visit was so difficult that I realise I must make the decision on how to cut down contact, at the moment it is weekly, but I must start by trying to think how I can do it every other week.
I don’t need to be upset by her.
I don’t want to cut it out altogether as I am the only person she she sees apart from occasional visits from her family which are not regular.
She has no friends at all and only speaks to neighbours on a strictly need to basis.
I just tell myself as we are both 88 it won’t go on forever😦

Both GS’s are here at the moment as the brother who the younger one lives with at present is ill.
Best wishes to all with illness and troubles and prayers for MD’s DiL.

Good morning everyone from yet another wet and dreary Northampton day, fed up with this weather and no sign of any sunshine on the horizon in the long range forecast.

Yesterday morning was.very busy and I had lots to get done made all the more.difficult from hobbling about on my painful knee.
There were the bins to put out, the cats' litter tray to deal with, and then a Sainsbury's delivery and also the dishwasher to empty plus the slow cooker to wash from the day before.
I then had a quick lunch before.getting ready for my lift to the well-being cafe, knitting bag in hand. It's ages since I'd been and there were many new faces. Did some knitting, then the quiz, but mainly sat and chatted.

Not going anywhere today, but will have a quiet day of catching up on everything at a very slow pace because of my knee. I have already decided not to go to dance classes tomorrow.

Had a very nice call from a fireman yesterday to arrange a home fire safety visit - they will inspect the house, advise on (and sometimes fit) smoke alarms and discuss escape routes. They will be attending in the fire engine, so I had better warn the neighbours!

Glad to hear that Marydoll's Dd-in-law had the.necessary surgery and hope she makes a good recovery.

Wishing all the best day.

After yesterday’s welcome sunshine we are back to grey and dripping - the whole country must be sodden by now, and the forecast doesn’t offer much respite.

Singing yesterday was enjoyable and today I am visiting a former neighbour in a local nursing home. She may be chatty and reasonably with it or away with the fairies but either way she likes my neighbour and me to go and will chastise us for not having been sooner. An afternoon reading will be my reward.

Thinking of MD and her family, the FGTs and all our tribe who are having a hard time during this endless winter.

Thinking of Marydoll and her family and the fgts

Good morning from a wet Co Armagh
Tuesday night I couldn’t sleep, between coughing and the loud rustling wheezing from my chest . I dozed in my chair all yesterday morning but rang the surgery and got antibiotics
Was told , there’s a lot of it going around
Another wet day here and no relief in the forecast !
Another of our Wednesday Club ladies is going to be 90 in March , plans for a wee party are uncertain as it’s in the middle of Lent , Easter is early this year
Thinking of all our ill friends here , and hoping MD s daughter in law makes a full recovery quickly 🙏🏼

Good morning everyone from windy Lancashire. The howling winds are back even louder. MrB has been out to secure the bins and has informed me it isn’t safe for my walk at the moment. We will see what it’s like after lunch.

I hope your DiL is improving Marydoll, she has really been through the mill. The stoma will allow her to heal and hopefully can be reversed once it’s done its job.

Best wishes to all who are struggling with life at the moment.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing.

Ilovedogs22 Thu 05-Feb-26 11:22:17

Good morning from the west midlands, another dull, cold day here today. However, walking around the garden, I can see pockets of Spring-springing; huzzah!
Sending my best wishes to any Gran's out there feeling poorly or worried. I afraid that this dire weather is not conducive to either health or happiness. Ohh and it will soon be lunchtime. 😊

A late good morning to you all.

Sending best wishes to you and your family, Marydoll. A very worrying time for all of you 💐.

I hope, too, that anyone else suffering ill health or nursing any worries see better days ahead soon.

I’m all stretched out after Pilates this morning and now need to stir myself to get some housework done.

It’s bitterly cold again with a cold wind making it feel worse and the sky is still grey - will the sunshine ever come back? This weather doesn’t inspire me to get out and about, so to all of you who do, well done. I wish I could find the motivation.

Take care.
