Anyone else sick of this winter? Here in North Wales we've had over a month of firstly snow then fog and now day after day of heavy rain.
Looking forward to spring.

I agree that winter is cosy with candles, real fire and keeping warm

It's just that this winter in the hills of North Wales has been exceptionally bleak.

Cold and very wet here in London, not as cold as it was but I believe it gets much colder at the end of next week. Of course it is typical winter weather but don’t remember previous winters at this time being so grim, the skies are just so murky day after day, is depressing.

Have to say I just spoke to a relative on NYC and we really wouldn’t want to get the weather they have been having with snow, winds, and subzero temps.
Winters there can be brutal.

As long as we don't have to light xandkes, sorry, candles, because there is yet another power cut.

Occasionally I have been following what the weather is like in the UK where I will be back on 17th to enjoy winter after a WONDERFUL experience the other side of the world since leaving the UK on January 9th. Hopefully I will soon get over the long journey back as I will be off again on March 14th but only to Gran Canary.

Very strange thing is appearing in the sky over Merseyside this morning. I remember it used to be called sunshine with the sun in the sky!

Yes. It's been here too. Is it witchcraft?

I hate winter, hate it hate it. The endless GREY of it, the having to have indoor lights on , the cold, the damp. The cost of heating, the lack of exercise when sometimes it's too bad to get outside. The only good thing about winter is...Spring follows it !!!
I also have a winter birthday and feel really peeved at people who have summer ones with meet ups, trips out, restaurants etc. My birthday, no, too dark, cold and people too busy with Christmas pursuits !

Up here, we had the wettest autumn I can remember, but the weather was festive over Christmas and New Year, with clear skies and sharp frosts. January was a mixed bag, some cold, some wet weather, but luckily we've missed the worst of the wind and rain for once.
My positive spin is the days are getting longer and spring isn't very far away,

Rocketstop I too have a winter birthday as do both my DDs. We are going to have official birthdays in .August.
