Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had some rain overnight but looks drier now
A very Happy Birthday to your DH ginny, enjoy your celebrations today
Hoping all goes well today for your DH NannyJan
No plans today, it’ll probably be a day pottering about at home, I really must get on with some cleaning and I want to sort through some clothes. If it’s dry I might get out into the garden for a little while.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a bright W Kent. I shall be roasting a leg of lamb bought inexpensively before Christmas. Hoping we can do it justice, lots of left overs. Chat to DB and that’s about it for today.
Happy birthday MrGinny
Madeleine agree steam may help a little but sounds like an antibiotic is needed, worked for me
Very best wishes to all

Morning from a dry but cloudy S Hants, showers predicted, yesterday afternoon we had sun!
Happy Birthday MrGinny 🎂
How frustrating Roses ungrateful lot.
We watched the rugby yesterday and the curling, more Olympics today.
Beef for dinner, haven’t had that for ages, but it’s a cheat - reheated slices.

Good morning from Sheffield

We went to Worksop yesterday but it was such a shame to see a once busy and thriving market town so empty and depressed. All the big shops have gone and the market . It is just left with a few dismal shops. Why are there so many vape shops?

Anyway I picked up a brand new pair of Sketchers boots from a charity shop for £15 so I was very pleased with them

We have new tap, it’s lovely. Three kitchen cupboards had to emptied and I didn’t have the energy to put things back yesterday so I have that to do this morning

Today we are walking. As the country paths are so muddy, we are going to walk into the city centre. There is a path that runs right into town at the side of the main road. It’s hidden so you feel as though you are in woods . It will take us about 2 hours and then we will catch the tram back.
I have already prepared a beef bourguignon to come back to. I’ve just got to get out of bed now!

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from a dry Suffolk after a lovely sunny morning yesterday followed by a drizzly afternoon.

I’m about to enjoy my first cuppa and will read your posts as I drink it.

I managed to clear a large pile of ironing yesterday but did little else apart from a walk with the little dog along muddy footpaths at the end of soddened fields and then reading the paper.

Apart from dropping money off to a friend in the village for annual subscriptions that I collect for the church magazine for 4 of us who live in our little enclave it will be a day of quiet relaxation. DH usually cooks on Sunday so that is always a pleasure.

I hope all those who are ill had a comfortable night and will begin to feel a little better today.

Good morning all. My bit of Leicestershure is also dry but it is quite chilly. Alexa tells me it's 6° but I don't believe her.

A quiet day ahead for us. Just roast chicken etc to sort out. Maybe DS2 will call in. DD2 is still struggling a little with some pain and tiredness.

Have the best day possibke everyone.

Good morning. It’s isn’t raining and the sky is fairly bright here in Essex.😉……..at the moment.

Yesterday I took DGD home for the weekend. Her mum is still in bed but looked brighter for seeing her ‘angel’. She’d ordered her some small gifts online for being such a star and not making any fuss.

The puppy dog went wild at seeing gd and they played happily together. I came home to find an empty house (bliss).ds1 had taken his dad out for coffee and a light lunch as the footie had been cancelled once more.

I spent the afternoon watching the Olympics. Such brave , dedicated people. More of the same today. ⛷️.

Madeleine your symptoms are very similar to DD’s. The antibiotics didn’t seem to touch it. I got her some jollop from the pharmacist for mouth and throat which seems to have helped. Expensive though. Difflam oral rinse. £11 +.
Hope you feel better soon.🙏

I’ll go to fetch DGD this afternoon and bring her back here and see how the next week pans out. Bath and the dreaded hair wash (her hair is so long and thick). Tea and homework and early bed.

I hope all ailing grans feel better today , whether Ill, worried, anxious or just fed up with the weather. 🌱

Morning everyone. It’s actually dry and (shock 😮) sunny in my corner of West Lothian today.
Yesterday’s ’spa day ‘ was good although the one (communal and unisex) changing room was far too small for the number of people using it. We (dd2 and I) got talking to a couple in the steam room who were spending a weekend in Edinburgh that involved using vouchers (like the one for the spa day) for all sorts of fun activities. It sounded great and I came away thinking that dh and I should try to do more of this. Maybe after the hip op.
A very quiet day of catching up with chores is on the cards today. Hopefully I’ll manage to watch a couple of episodes of Stranger Things this afternoon (only 10 years after everybody else watched it) and then Call the Midwife this evening.
Have a good day everyone and I hope everyone who’s feeling unwell is on the mend soon

Good morning from a dry 7 degree Cambridgeshire. Rain will however make an appearance this evening.

Nothing much planned today but DD2 and her little family are coming over mid afternoon and I will cook roast chicken for them for 5 ish.

Hoping those feeling poorly will have a better day. Wishing a happy Sunday to all 🌺

Good morning all from a dry Black country.
Well Cinderella came back for their shoe sometime during the night but they appeared to have left a blue bowl in its place🤔 perhaps goldilocks will come for that, strange goings on here.
Other than a trip to Aldi it will be a quiet day here, lamb for dinner later.
Hope all the poorlies are improving.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Good morning all from a very wet Glasgow There is little respite from this incessant rain.

I have just spent the last ten minutes looking for Good morning Monday. I am away with the fairies.

Roses, that is not good enough, that after all your hard work, no-one turned up.

Madeleine, it looks like you need to see a doctor. Aspirin, as suggested, should only be taken under GP supervision and is not recommended for elderly folk, especially if you are on blood thinners.
After both heart attacks, I was taking them as a necessary precaution, I was covered in huge purple bruises and couldn't wait to stop them.
Please seek medical help, you sound very unwell.

I too felt very unwell yesterday, between the divericulitis and labrynthitis, I felt awful and spent the day in my jammies.
At 9am, DD and SIL arrived, when I was still in bed she took one look and said, Mum, you look awful, 😔
They hadn't long left, when a very cross Babydoll arrived with her parents, they stayed for hours, so that DS2 could set up DH's new P.C. He has been stubbornly at it for days,
Just like the voice prompts on the TV. He refused to let me fix it. After three days, of the TV vocalising every action and driving me to distraction, I took possession of the remote and sorted it in minutes.
He told DD, that he had tried that and it didn't work. Aye right!

Nothing pleased Babydoll, she didn't know what she wanted, including stripping off her clothes.😂
My teacher brain (I worked with children on the autistic spectrum) is beginning to go into overdrive.
She is above her percentile in development, is speaking in full sentences, asks frequent questions, doesn't like change, walks on her tiptoes, doesn't like loud noises and displays other indicators. I would never say a word to her parent.
She dragged me to the conservatory, closed the door and wouldn't allow anyone in, including her parents. It was to be only the two of us,
All I wanted to do was wallow, but no chance of that, I was her best pal.♥️.

A very unwell, DIL messaged me last night, sounding very low. Poor DS is getting a hard time from her, he can't do anything right, I'm about to force myself to get up and go visiting.
Wee Dollie is not doing well, she is missing her mum so badly and her behaviour is reflecting this. Poor DS.
She had a visit from another surgeon, who told her that she was such an interesting and unusual case, he had to come and see her!

DH came back from the Vigil Mass last night, telling me that people were asking for me, they knew something must be wrong, due to my prolonged absence.
Despite me emailing all the important information for the bulletin, the young man responsible for typing it, missed out these items.
Unfortunately those items had been submitted by two rather troublesome parishioners, if I didn't fix it, the curate and young sacristan would have had an earful.
To keep the peace, I had to contact them and apologise, (even although it wasn't my fault ), then alert the young curate, that I would send DH in, with a revised bulletin to read out at Mass.
No rest for the wicked, despite me supposedly taking a step back!

Best wishes to all our poorly Gransnetters and their families. 🤞for your DH, Nannyjan.

Good morning everyone from at last a not rainy day in Northampton! Still overcast and grey.
Later this morning as I slept till nearly 9 am.

Enjoyed a trip to the shops yesterday and got everything that I needed, and then had a coffee in Costa before heading for the bus home. Lots of changes in our M&S Foodhall, including getting rid of the toilets - I suppose they don't legally need them any more after closing the cafe.

Spent the afternoon watching Six Nations Rugby and reading the newspaper; six of our Northampton Saints boys featuring in the England team! Also a couple in the Scotland side, and one in the Italian

A quiet day at home today, reading mainly and may print out the final paperwork for my Spanish holiday next month.

Wishing all a pleasant and peaceful Sunday.

Good morning everyone from overcast Lancashire.

MrB and are planning a circular walk around the Dock. The plumber is coming early tomorrow to deal with a drip under the kitchen sink, 2 leaky radiator valves and replace 2 taps. Hopefully not big jobs but I guess it depends what he finds.

Marydoll flowers
Best wishes to all who are struggling with life at the moment.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing.

Grammaretto Sun 08-Feb-26 10:09:22

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I slept in after a sleepless night
I listened to a radio programme about hoarders and decided I am definitely going that way so today I shall take a car load of stuff to the recycling centre.

My friend who's staying is away today seeing her disabled adult son who lives in a supported community near here. She worries dreadfully about him and his future for when she can no longer be his legal guardian.

We viewed a house for sale yesterday but it is just too tiny. It was advertised as having a basement but we had to climb through a hatch in an outside wall to get into it and my friend who is tall couldn't stand up in it.

My pottery group will come in an hour or so and there's a film tonight at the local cinema. Maybe I should stay put after all.

Sorry to hear of your plight Roses.
Happy birthday to DH Ginny
Hope all goes well for yours NannyJan and
Marydoll flowers
Sending good wishes to you all.

The parcel from Next arrived.
It was like a pice of rag, not only did it look as if it had been tried on, it looked as if it had been worn.
A huge disappointment , a strong review will be given.
